Ingredients

Serving 3
1 onion
2 glasses ice
1 potato
1/4 teaspoon saffron, ground
Salt , as per taste
Balck pepper powder, as per taste
5 tomatoes
1/2 glass oil
1 teaspoon turmeric

Directions:

First wash the tomatoes and make into pure in a blender. Also wash rice and allow it 2 hours to soak in a bowl of 2 glasses of water and pureed tomatoes as well a salt. In a proper pot, fry the sliced onion and add in the brewed saffron, turmeric, a pinch of salt and pepper. Pour in the soaked rice. Set over the fire and stir in the diced potato. Allow to boil till its water is almost gone, only about a couple of spoons of water should be left. Wrap the lid with a clean piece of paper and cover the dish. Give it a couple of minutes till rice is well-cooked.

Cooking Points:

1. Adding 1 dried lime to the pot while boiling, will make your cuisine even more delicious.
2. If you think the color is not charming enough, you can add in 1 tablespoon tomato paste.
3. If desired, pour in 2 to 6 tablespoons milk to rice to have a nice Tahdig. Don't forget to lessen the same amount from the water you use.
4. You are recommended to apply butter instead of oil for cooking rice.
