In 1980, almost 90 percent of American priests stated that the church is the most appropriate place to express social and political issues and this is necessary for all priests.
There are more than 400 thousand churches in America and 110 thousand churches are in hands of Evangelists. Evangelists by influence in the government of "Jimmy Carter" between 1976 AD and 1980 noted problem of maintaining traditional family values.
In the 1980 presidential election, Evangelists supported "Ronald Reagan" on the condition that he will act accordance with the teachings of the Gospel in political and social issues. Reagan in an interview with "Jim Bakker," the evangelical priest in television network P. T. L said:
"We may be the generation that sees Armageddon."
In the same year, in a speech to a group of Jewish leaders, he said:
"Israel is the only country that has a stable democracy and we can rely on it as a place where Armageddon may happen."
"Reagan" spoke on three occasions in 1981, 1983, and 1984 for national religious broadcasters that included devotees of God path and believed in approaching a nuclear war. In 1982, he said:
Perhaps this incident will occur later than we think, but in any case the Apocalypse war will occur and it will be messenger of the second Christ's emergence.
In 1983, he called Russia evil empire and called the Soviet Union as the focus of evil in the modern world and in 1984 AD, the Reagan secretory of war announced that the destructive power of nuclear forces in the world today are a million times more powerful than the power of the Hiroshima bomb.
Reagan in his speeches often wished that God blesses him pressing key of a nuclear missile to start Armageddon war.
In 1982, when Israel invaded Lebanon, one of the leaders and promoters of this movement called "Pat Robertson" spoke on TV of terror that he will cause Armageddon war. He said that at the end of 1982, there will be Apocalypse and core and focus of the uprising is the Soviet Union as beginner of war and it will shoot nuclear bomb on America.
In the early eighties Jews in America were constantly raising the following points to create a political and cultural atmosphere in the media that were often under their authority:
.1 The increase in acts of violence, arson, bombings and threatening to kill the Jews;
2. Reconstruction of "Ku Klux klan " organization and the Nazi Party in America and the success of the organizations in attracting new members who were causing panic and concern;
3. Increase of economic and political power of Arabs and Muslims because of their oil revenues.
Negative image of Arabs and Muslims is seen in these years in Hollywood movies and its main goal was the destruction of the Palestinian resistance movement and justification of acts of terror of the occupying regime! Spending time on the nuclear themes and World Wars, as scientific - fiction cinema continues too.
In a movie titled "Children" by "Malks Kalmanovich" in 1980, we see that a nuclear plant makes a substance that turns a bus carrying children into nuclear zombies by symptoms of blackened fingernails. The use of children in Hollywood horror movies and taking advantage of audience's feelings about the fact that children cannot be destroyed, has a long history. In this film any way children are victims of negligence and laxity of the authorities in the proper use of nuclear power plants.
In these years raising the Soviet Union as the main enemy is still strong.
In the film "Human Highway" directed by "Dean Stockwell" and "Bernard Shiki" in 1982 that is Anti-nuclear comedy film again they use rock music and a jazz orchestra that are near a nuclear power plant and are affected by radioactive materials.
In the movie "creature" by "Czech Kong" in 1983, a comedy and horror movie in a position of nuclear waste, a small creature is created that threatened a small town in the state of Idaho. In the film "Jose Ferrer", "Martin Landau" and "Dorothy Malone" cast.
Another film was made in this year called "Silk Wood" by "Mike Nichols". In the film, the guards of a nuclear power plant saw a conflict between supporters and opponents of mentioned plant. Meanwhile some people are involved in the radioactive contamination and the story continues in a different way. "Meryl Streep" and "Kurt Russell" are the main actors of the film and it is made based on a story written by "Karen Silk Wood".
In the film "the next day" "by Nicholas Merrier" in 1983, which is a science-fiction drama, we see a harsh commander of the Soviet Union in the early ninety's that orders his soldiers to go to the border of West Berlin to attack the West German with other stationed forces there who are a type of armored and infantry people. People have their normal life everywhere. For example, in Lawrence in Kansas, a family is preparing to hold a wedding for the older daughter of the family, a surgeon at City Hospital is getting ready for surgery. In other places people spend their daily lives as well. But Russians fired a ballistic missile into a town in West Germany and then attacked to a US warship in the Persian Gulf. Americans responded to attacks of Soviet warship. Then Russians bombed the headquarters of NATO. Horror and stress overcomes the cities. People are busy building a shelter in the basement of their home. Meanwhile a nuclear missile explodes between Kayzas and Missouri. Many people were killed and many survivors were threatened by the effects of radioactive radiation, and now we see the story of people who wander in a world empty of everything, without water and electricity and food; A world full of radioactive substances where hunger and disease can be seen everywhere. The movie describes misfortune caused by global nuclear war in a way that the Soviet Union is introduced as the main factor and as usual procedure, in the film the hero is American white man who will guide survivors towards a better and peaceful life in addition to the defensive operations.
"Special Bulletin" is another TV movie in 1983, which is directed by "Edward Zwick", and shows collective fear and anxiety in the face of the atomic bomb. The story is that a TV reporter and cameraman, who are on strike by a group of directors of a ship, is taken as hostage. The hostage-takers' demanded is to collect all marking and determine nuclear devices, which are in an area of Charleston, and the tests by carried out solely in the midst of the sea. They add that if their request is not met, they will cause explosion of an atomic bomb. In the film, according to American process that is inspired by criminal police films, we can see that the hostage-taking is used as a threat and the important point of the film is that the atomic bomb would cause next explosions in different parts of the globe and cause global catastrophe. Here titles like "subversive" and "communist" and "terrorists" as common charges refer to the striking workers and the panic caused by the destruction of the world is pervasive from the middle of the film.
In the French Cinema, "Luc Besson", famous director, directed a film in predicting a future battle of the Earth, which was shown with the name of "the last battle" in 1984. According to the story of the movie a huge and uncertain disaster has happened on the planet Earth and whole civilization has disappeared. Small groups of survivors live in the ruins. They have lost their power of speech. A young man, who can be seen in the whole scenes from start, makes a primitive aircraft that could take him away from the head of the local evil people. He also has control of the region by taking charge of the water supply. Due to low fuel, the plane landed in the courtyard of the building that is a former hospital complex and he is attacked by a fencer. The young man ran into the hospital, where he sees an elderly doctor who is in an attempt to gain power of speaking again. He finds out that a girl is protected in there too. Fencer kills the girl and doctor and he is killed by the young man. Young returns to his district by doctor's gun and met the leader of the evil gang and he destroyed him and took control of the region.
The movie is a legendary scientific image after the final disaster. The important thing in the film is that it is trying to show the wild and lawlessness world that has emerged by effects of the disaster. Presented savagery in the film is reminiscent of the days before the tragedy in the world. The few that remained after the final explosion, only think of their own survival and protect the possibilities that have taken by force to point of death. Human being goes back to early savagery and caveman life. In this new world, all human emotions such as friendship between people and speaking are forgotten. All people are in kind of politics for their own survival and use any case for their advantage and their demands.
