Zonuzaq is one of the stepped villages in Iran, which is adjacent to the city of Zenoz. With 4,000 people, the village has the highest potential of tourism, but the village is unknown due to the lack of introduction has led to lack of concerted effort to improve the tourism situation in the village. In a way that the village has not been seriously visited by authorities except for rare cases and it just hosts a few tourists in some days.
Zonuzaq and historical monuments in it are interesting to all. The special architecture of the Qizil Crepe (Golden Bridge) and other historical textures of the city of Zenoz, has made it one of the most unique villages of the country. Zonuzaq is located next to the city of Zenuz in 30 kilometers from northwest of Marand city.

It is a village ending with the huge populous trees and it is separated from other unique attractions of the region by the green and tall greenery.
The source of income of the people of this village, like other villages in the area, is the production of products such as apples, apricots and walnuts. Sheep flock are also seen in the corners of the plains around the village, which are considered to be tremendous wealth for the people of the region.
We go inside from the first alley of the village. The streets and houses of this village have strangely preserved their historical identity. Perhaps, if every tourist takes only a few steps in these streets and see the faces of women and children at the edge of the narrow walls, forget about time and history. Blue, green, orange and sometimes red are the most colorful colors in the women's clothing of this village.
Hardcore and smiling people. Fewer faces in this village can be seen without a smile. The nature and delicacy of the region has given the people of the village so much affection that it attracts every tourist at first sight.
In one of the alleys of the village, an old lady stands beside spring and paves the water path by a shovel. Let's go: Hello madam! She looks at us and responds with a smile. Before we ask a question, she says: are you tourists?" We are not surprised. The villagers of this village are famous for their hospitality. She asks again: "Where have you seen, have you enjoyed, have you eaten anything?" And asking some other questions that even the most experienced guides might forgot to ask their guests.
There is a valley at the bottom located in the northwest of the village and there is another village. A village which is full of walnut, apples, and apricots trees, and springs that their sound is throughout the region. One of the hallmarks of this place is the clustered neighborhoods, which have surrounded Zonuzaq like a diamond.
I ask the old woman about the customs and traditions of the place: "We have weddings and we hold mourning ceremony in the month of Muharram, along with the ceremonies of Chaharshanbe suri, Nowruz and religious festivals such as Eid al-Adha and Ghadir." The explanations show that they have the same traditions with most parts of Iran.
We walk the alley and get to the last yard of the village at the highest point. It has a very dreamy outlook. Although the topography of the area is mountainous, the horizon is completely clear. A horizon above all the mountains and hills around the town of Zenoz, and all four sides of our eyes are unobtrusive. Only the sight of the eyes can end this. It is an indicator which is not in any of Iran's villages.
Zonuzaq is undoubtedly one of the most unique historical and natural villages in Iran. There are houses in the village that relate to the Safavid period. The cemetery of this village also has many tales. There are stones in this cemetery, which, according to their carvings, can be attributed to many past periods.
Zonuzaq is a village whose natural and historical factors make it one of the most privileged villages in tourism; an issue that has not yet been realized. But what is evident is that various organizations have begun widespread efforts to introduce this village to its real status.
In some places, Zonuzaq is named as Masouleh of Azerbaijan, which is not the correct analogy. Although Masouleh is one of the most beautiful villages in the country, the set of factors that have come together in Zonuzaq is not even in Masuleh.
The collection of natural and historic attractions in this village and its surrounding areas has made this village one of the most rare tourist attractions. Apples, apricots and honey, each of which are considered as an indicator for this village, it also has mountains and prominent sites on the edges of the village, each of which alone embraces foreign and domestic tourism in many different seasons of the year.
Selderm Mountains, Zenoz Dam and topography around it, Amini garden, abundant mineral water springs and plains at height of two thousand meters above sea level that in April is like an isolated piece of Paradise.
Although the village is considered by many experts and protecting issues are followed in historical and rural texture, but until recently, despite the village's historical identity, measures have been taken for welfare of the people that have seriously damaged the village. Measures such as sidewalk and asphalt, which in case of a better study, could be better adapted to the natural texture of the village.
Although many experts believe that the registration of this village on the UNESCO list has been delayed for many years, the delay may be beneficial to Zozuzaq. At present, there are fewer villages in Iran that have kept all their old textures, traditions and costumes.
