The waterfall of Margon is considered among the most beautiful waterfalls of the country which is located in the vicinity of the city of Sepidan on the border between the provinces of Fars and Kohgiluyeh and Boyer Ahmad. After driving your car on the road you’ll need several minutes of walk on a paved cement road. It is surrounded by beautiful green landscapes especially in springtime.
The route to it with the surround villages is blanketed in snow and sometimes it’s impossible to go there as the paths are blocked due to heavy snow. The waterfall is in fact the source of the river. On top of the mountain there is no river; yet there are several thousand springs. That’s why it’s considered the largest and highest waterfall with springs across the world.
The abundant river from the springs continues to Sepidan. It boasts dense trees and apple orchards along its path.
As you might see on the above picture, there is no river over the waterfall. Of course, it only shows the top of the waterfall and it’s very higher than your imagination ; its height reaches close to 120 m with a width of about 400 m. It has no clear dimensions as each day a new spring is added in the place and sometimes the springs contain little water or disappear.
Its water is quite cool in the hottest season of the year , below 10 degrees. Drinking the natural water, like the springs, would not result in a cold and walking in water won’t make your feet sore.
