Shapur, a beautiful cave

It is located in the end of Tang-e Chogan , 4 km from the city of Bishapur, the main capital of the Sassanid , about 800 m above sea level with a mouth of 30 m wide. On its entrance lies the Shapur statue and that's where the name comes from.
The statue is still remaining even after 1,700 years. It's the only statue from the ancient times , with a height of about 7m .It was created after carving the stone pillar inside the cave.
It's still in good state after many years but two of its hands are broken. It overturned as a result of its heavy weight but was placed in its original place by the army in 1336.
