Akairan: before we travel to Iran, we were a bit skeptical but not from ourselves. This fear was transmitted more from our families and friends. Before our flying to Iran, a lot of people contacted us and wished us a good trip, but their tone was as if they are hearing our voice for the last time.
Almost, the reaction of all people was strange for hearing that an American couple traveled to Iran.
According to the nuclear deal, the interest of many Americans to travel to Iran increased but there is still the question on everyone's mind: "As an American tourist, how was the trip to Iran? Do you have enough security? What made you travel to Iran? "
Our experience and memories was surprising for American people.
We shone like stars as American tourists from Tehran markets to Shiraz mosques and even in train wagons.
Iranian people are curious. When we told them that we are Americans, they become excited and took pictures with us and they invited to their homes for tea and introduced us to their friends. Although, they treated warmly to other members of the group who Europeans or Australians, but they treated with us in another way. In short, we got embarrassed at their so much attention.
One time, while we were in Shiraz market for sightseeing, an old man asked us where we are from and what we are looking for in this market. We said in response: "We are Americans and curiosity about Iran. We have not such a market in our country."
One of them told us to wait a few moments, then, came back with a box full of sweets and chocolates and asked us to give them to our family. Finally, I must say that we were constantly invited for tea in Iranian’s home in this market.
Incidentally that night, after returning to the hotel, when we turned on the TV, we found out that it was the anniversary of the release of American hostages in 1979. TV channels were full of posters and banners of "Death to America".
Seeing this scene, I remember the people in the streets: "The people are the people and the government is the government. Please identify the real Iran to your friends. "
Why we travel to Iran? This country has a rich and diverse culture. From the greatness and glory of the curved stones in Persepolis to the history and the beauty of its capital and the Islamic tile work of mosques and etc.
The history of this country is spectacular and it is not surprising that 19 UNESCO World Heritage cases are in this place.
According to Akairan: visiting locations such as coffee shops in that a lot of people sit and talk is an unforgettable experience.
