If you live in the capital, don’t miss the heaven; a refreshing garden with a different and eye-catching architecture.
Even if you visit Tehran for a few days, don’t forget about its water and fire park at all. A garden which make you want to go there again and again.
The park is surrounded by the green hills of Abbasabad. It encompasses an area of 24,000 square meters.
No matter whether you skate on the pavement and do acrobatic movements in the air, or gather with your family in tents and sheltered tables, or you are among people who hurry past badminton players to avoid being hit by their shuttlecocks, you will enjoy yourself in the park during days and nights.
For those who love to take walks or do bike riding through the lines of trees and crowds of people , those who love to have peace and quiet in a vibrant and dynamic atmosphere, this is the right place.
Where is it located?
It’s situated in the west of the recreational complex in Abbasabad ,on the south side of the Shahid Haghani highway, between Jahan-e Kudak crossroad and Shahid Haghani subway station.
How to take public transportation to go there?
The #1 subway will take you to the park. Get off at Sahahid Haghani station and for a very small amount take taxis moving from Vanak square to the east Haghani. They will drive you to the main door of the park. If you enjoy walking, you can do so from the subway station up to the entrance door in only 10 minutes.
How to drive your car to the park?
Move from the west to the east of the Haghani highway. After Jahan-e Kudak crossroad , get into Diadr Street (located in the west side of the park, right after Jahan- Kudak square and before the skyway). You can park your car either on Didar Street or in the public car parks of the water and fire park.
The park is right next to Banader park. On their border stands a lantern tower; it looks like the lighthouses depicted in cartoons and stories. A white cylinder ,not too high, only 12 meters. You can take the meandering stairs to go up and have a beautiful view of the park; A view of the highways and streets around with crowds of people. You might not think you are very high but you can have a perfect look.
It has impressive architecture with beautiful designs; you can’t fail to stop and see.
Its coffee shop also has a beautifully designed structure, a ship where you can drink beverages and herbal tea. There are two more buffets beside the horse riding ground and near the Nature’s Bridge where you can get junk food and drinks.
Pass through the skyway
Abbasabad’s land is larger than what you could even think of. If you’d like to roam around, you can pay a visit to Taleghani park nearby. There is a 296-meter bridge which separates the two parks and makes it easy for passersby and bike riders to move from Vanak square to Mirdamad subway station and on to Modarres valley.
Trot a head
There is a place between the plays’ tent and rappels where you can experience the old Tehran; an enjoyable experience of carriage riding. The horses take you round the park and return you to the southeast side, where carriages are kept.
They carry a weight of 180 kg each; two adults and a kid under 10 years old. The horses are small: Caspian ponies give you a ride from the carriage station to Abrisham(silk) bridge and Banader park. The route is paved and goes through the sheltered tables, Pigeon’s nestle and lantern tower.
At the beginning of the path, near the carriage station, there is a place for training horse riding. To ride the traditional and original Persian , Turkmen and Arab horses, which are tall and neigh a lot hitting their hooves on the ground, this is a nice place where you’ll have an experience like no other.
Enjoy segwaying
A two-wheeled motorized vehicle, a seatless or electric bicycle is a device which is known as an unsophisticated automobile by professionals in this sport.
The fairly strange device has two wheels and a balancing axis makes it easy to ride and wander around corners. There are some limitations though; you should be 135 centimeters tall and you can’t ride before you reach the age of 15. It’s user-friendly. Before the ride, the trainer teaches you what a device it is and you’ll learn the tricks. You’ll enjoy your ride on a self-balancing device. Segways compete with carriages; a controversy of tradition and modernity; like what is conveyed from the name of the park ; contradiction of water and fire.
Fire pillars
Moving towards the Haghani highway or southern Didar, you’ll get the fire towers in the park; Beautiful parkland and trees with flames of fire coming out of the mouth of the pillars .
When it gradually gets dark, the flames ablaze extremely. With a loud roar, every half an hour flames afire out of four mouths. The length of hot flames reaches 10 meters. You’ll see a contradiction of two elements: fire and water. That’s when you may realize why the park is also called Prophet Ibrahim (PBUH) park.
Remember the flight
Rappel training and moving with a rope and pulley in the park is another enjoyable activity around the lantern tower, where you can experience the thrill of hanging between the earth and the sky. Although it’s not very high , it will be lots of fun and excitement. Known as Tyrol,it is a tempting leisure activity you should like. With a little patience in the queues, your turn will come soon.
You’ll go over a high hill and hold a handle that is tied to a long rope with a pulley and hang from it to come down towards the second shorter hill.
The only condition you should meet is you should be less than 2 meters tall and your weight shouldn’t exceed 120 kg. It is forbidden for people suffering from heart diseases or those who are afraid of heights. Probably, you’ll scream out of fear , excitement and enjoyment. A long loud cry.
Water fountains
They sound like movies; Horror movies in which all of a sudden the ground cracks and water erupts spontaneously towards the frightened people walking there and scares them to death. But here there is no trace of fear. It’s all about excitement; A huge thrill of a wonderful water play.
Around the massive metal pillars where flames ablaze, there are holes which would be fascinating to the kids to stop and take a look. They like waiting for the right time when water geysers up out of the ground under pressure.
