The lovely village near the capital city is a good option for a one-day trip over the weekends.
Autumn visits are highly recommended. Breathing in in the fresh air and watching the blue sky are nice reasons to head off .It’s 50 km from around Tehran to reach there and it only takes an hour. It is mild and pleasant in spring and summer and cold in autumn and winter. Of course, although it’s cold in the autumn, you are recommended to visit then. The trees of the village are painted in hot colors like scarlet, red, yellow and brown and you’ll feel hot unconsciously. The most beautiful landscapes await you in autumn, not in summer and spring.

The Barg-e Jahan river originates from the heights around and joins the Rudbar river and finally pours into Latian dam. On the path of the river , there are 20 waterfalls which have created such breathtaking landscapes that they will attract thousands of visitors especially in summer and spring.
The village along with the fascinating views of the heights around, green gardens and pastures along the banks of the river as well as the beautiful alley gardens have turned the region into one of the most amazing villages in the capital.
It is located in Lavasanat, and has one beautiful waterfall which needs an hour's walk to reach. After Lavasanat, move towards Afjeh and on to the village of Barg-e Jahan to reach it. The fall is on the path to Sar Siah Ghar (Siah Chalha) and is the destination of nature wanderers who travel to the village to hike and go mountain climbing.
After approximately 5 minutes of walking through the village, cross a bridge on the right where cars might pass. Proceed through gardens. Ten more minutes and you’ll reach a two-way path; the right ends up in the river. If the water is low, you can pass it in the opposite direction of water flow to get where the two rivers meet and over to the waterfall. The left route goes up the foothill and ends at the confluence of the river.

A wander in village

If you want to roam around, you can pass the village to get to another village named Niknam Deh. Go on to get a 3-way path; the right takes you the Latian and Jajorud dams, and the left to Hanzak, Rasnan, Chahar Bagh, great Lavasan, Kalan, Alain, Ira, Jord, Sang-e Darvazeh, Ardineh, Vasgare, Mandanak, and eventually the town of Roodehen.

The old monuments of the village were destroyed over the last couple of decades and replaced with brand-new buildings. It has resulted in some change in the old texture of the village. There is a valley in the north of the village. After a short time, you’ll get a stream creating a fascinating landscape with a view of the heights of Sar Siah Ghar.
