The largest birds’ garden in Lavizan

The garden lies in the northeast of the capital. Its construction happens in two stages ; the first one is about 60 % complete and will come into operation in the end of 1392.
According to Tehran’s municipality, last summer the process began in Lavizan , district 4, to reconcile people with nature and strengthen the relationship between human being and the earth and its creatures.

35% progress in the project

Today, the whole project , being implemented in two stages, has developed to some 35%.
Announcing it , Latif Pendarian, the head of the project, said: an area covering some 80hectares has been allocated to carry out a recreational, and cultural project in the forest park of Lavizan ; 20 hectares of which belongs to the birds’ garden.
On the stages of the project, he said: it is done in two stages ; the first is ongoing and will be done by the end of1392.
He added: the first stage in an area of 5.5 hectares has now developed about 60% and agreements were reached to get the facilities from abroad.
Stating that the second stage is now progress, he said: the first steps were taken with necessary preparations , and the structure is remained only which will be constructed after financing.

250 species of African and Asian birds in a single park
Stating that the remaining 60hectares will be allocated to construction of a public park he added: it is the habitat for about 250 bird species. He continued: consultations are in progress to get the tropical birds. 250 species of aquatic ,saxicoline and hunting birds , including at least 20000birds, will be imported to the country.
He added: we will consider all the necessities to keep birds.
He said: some birds will be transferred from the Southeast Asia, and Africa and we will provide them with facilities. He noted: we have determined the type of the birds and settled prices and once the construction is over they will be transferred.
Free birds
Pendarian adde: they are not supposed to be captive but rarer they can fly freely and enjoy a natural life. Citizens can see how they lay eggs.
He noted: there is no limitation other than a 30- meter high net encompassing the space.

The equipment for taxidermy is domestic

The head of the birds’ garden project declared: the flowers garden is right in the entrance way and then you’ll reach a Taxidermy station planned to use the dead birds .
According to him, the necessary equipment for the process of taxidermy is made domestically.

Restaurant and car parks under construction

He added: a restaurant, cafeteria, birds clinic, birds shop, quarantine station, and car parks are among the facilities in the garden.
He also added: the implementation operation in the restaurant and cafeteria has already started and the plans for carparks are also ready and will be carried out soon.

Trolleybus and carriage in the park

Stating that it’s forbidden to park cars in the park, he said: facilities were planned for the elderly and the physically handicapped to pass through easily.
He added: the contracts for trolleybuses have been signed to carry visitors in different directions. The head of the project announced citizens transportation by carriages saying:
Carriages will be put on thoroughfares to give them rides.

The birds’ garden , a national project

Penadrain emphasized exploiting the existing nature without any damage, and noted: this is a national project and people from across the country will come over to pay a visit to the garden.
He stated: the huge project will be carried out by the end of 1392.
