These days, we would rather consume yogurt sauce in our salads instead of popular mayonnaise sauce which is very fattening. This time around, we are using yogurt sauce in a delicious recipe. Do you like the idea? So here is the recipe :
Ingredients for meatballs
500 g Fresh veal, ground
80 g flout
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1 onion, grated
1/3 teaspoon garam masala spices
1/3 teaspoon caraway
salt and pepper for seasoning
Ingredients for sauce
200 g strained yogurt
35 g flour
3/4 teaspoon caraway
1 Onion, finely chopped
2 garlic cloves, chopped
1 piece Grated ginger
2 teaspoons Curry powder
Oil for frying
Salt and pepper, a pinch
1/3 teaspoon turmeric powder
1 chopped tomato
2 tablespoons Lemon juice
2 green chili pepper
Directions
In a mixing bowl combine strained yogurt and flour. Pour in 700 grams water and stir well.
Set a deep-bottomed frying pan on the heat and grease with drops of oil. Sauté all the spices as well as salt and pepper. After 2 to 3 minutes stir in the nicely chopped onion along with garlic and ginger and keep sautéing. Add in the yogurt mixture and increase the flame and bring to a boil. Then reduce it to low. Stir constantly till the ingredients are well-mixed. Give it 30 minutes on a low heat till the sauce is thickened.
Take a large mixing bowl and put all the ingredients for meatballs. Add in 2 tablespoons Water and start kneading the mixture. Take a walnut-sized piece off the bowl and shape into a ball. Repeat this and make meatballs with all the ingredients. Set a frying pan on the heat and pour in drops of oil. Arrange the meatballs in hot oil carefully and fry them on all sides. Put the fried meatballs inside the thick sauce. At the end, add in the chopped green chili with drops of lemon juice. After 5 to 10 minutes, switch off the heat and transfer juicy meatballs to a desired serving dish. Serve hot with fresh Persian bread and fresh herbs. Bon Appetit!
