Zionist agenda: restoration of Jewish words and rationality
Now Jewish scholars in Israel seek to create a way to reconcile the serious teachings of Judaism with modernity and modern values and the most significant way to achieve this goal is reconciliation between the Jewish faith and rationality. By the time the Jewish faith was divided to the intellectual currents of conservative, orthodox and reformist and if in medieval ages rabbis were asked what view is the Jews to a subject, now the Jewish youth ask the question from the proponents of orthodox or conservative and reformist Jews. In addition to ideological divisions among the Jewish people and modernism and postmodernism and influence of cultural industries and their beliefs on culture and Judaism, now the Jewish community has faced a serious crisis of thought, culture and beliefs in Israel.
Back to medieval times
If Israel does not try to intellectually rebuild the Jewish community, soon fragmented Jewish community would be faced with collapse. That's why many scientific and research centers in Israel, including Tel Aviv University and the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, in collaboration with editors and researchers from Germany and Iran and Europe are seeking to identify the intellectual heritage of ninth to thirteenth centuries, which includes Words of Shiite, Zaidi, Ishmael and Mu'tazili and they publish the texts with the financial support of the Council of Europe and Israel universities. The emerging trend, which can be used for re-revival of Jewish theology to consolidate religious cultural heritage of Judaism in contemporary century, has lots of similarities with the continued efforts of the Jewish theologians in the middle Ages.Jewish theological currents in the ninth to thirteenth centuries did study and analysis of Islamic theology to rebuild and restore their religious teachings. Because then Islamic theologians translated many Greek philosophical texts and restoring the philosophy based on monotheistic view, had dramatic advances in science of rational thought and Jews were violently backward from this intellectual convoy. In the course Karaite theologians such as "Yafeth Ben Ali" and "Abu Japheth Qaraqsany" and "Joseph Basir" and the rabbis like "David Maqmas" and "Saad Yagaun" and "David Ibn Marwan Babeli" started to study the theological works of Shiite and Mu'tazilites and could revive Jewish intellectual trend which was turned into recession,.
Now, with the establishment of Israel and setting Jewish religion as the official religion, the regime faces with the challenges of thought and belief beyond the concerns of rabbis and theologians of the Middle Ages and if Israel fails to overcome crises of thought and belief in twenty-first century, it will destroy and break apart from within. So, an act like medieval theologians is emerging and because the process started from the German scientific centers at the beginning, a number of researchers also joined the process and make cooperation in the revival of continuous intellectual trend in Israeli universities. In point of view of Israeli and German theologians, Mu'tazilites word has influenced Ismaili and Shiites words and restoring any Shiite theological books is like revival of texts that can integrated Jewish community mainstream and protect it from deterioration and destruction.
Independence of reason in the Shiite isolation
Words of Mu'tazilism and Shiite focuses on the independence of wisdom in recognizing moral religious orders and knows intellect valid along with words (Quran and Sunnah). Intellectual tradition of rabbis in Jewish theology is mostly affected by biblical Hebrew and religious myths of rabbis and the word was more similar to narratives than the reason and that is such a movable word was unable to resist against crises of thought from the emergence of the Islamic intellectual Word and Greek thoughts in the Middle Ages that had been found from the arrival of Greek philosophy to the Orient. Thinkers of the Jewish people by study the word of wisdom of Islam seek to rebuild the word of Jews and by formation of Israel and the theocracy of the Jews also the same Jewish word could not withstand new thinking and cultural aggression of West and it seems like many Jews in today's world also could not establish rational relation between the intellectual currents of contemporary Israeli and Jewish traditional teachings.Revitalize of Jewish words based on religious heritage of medieval ages seems to be necessary. Asharism thoughts in Islamic theology due to slipping into the narration approach is in a way that it cannot resolve a problem of thought and belief crisis of the Jewish people, because the rational school of Jewish people is full of verbal and intellectual contradictions and traditional Islamic heritage has nothing in common with Jewish theology and cannot solve any problem of intellectual and theological problem of Jewish people. So they should seek the intellectual heritage that the Jewish people are familiar with and in the past centuries it has been able to update itself by emulating the intellectual, religious, political, social and moral problems, and this experience was realized in the ninth to thirteenth centuries by Karaite and rabbi theologians and philosophers such as "Maimonides".
By studying intellectual Shi'i and Mutazilism works, Maimonides and Jewish scholars could base traditional Jewish views on rational arguments and philosophical arguments and focus on the legitimacy of the Jewish religion against Muslim and Christian theologians. Maimonides studied with Aflah, one of the disciples of Abu Bakr ibn al-Sayegh. He was also familiar with the works of Averroes, and he mentioned his philosophical views in the book "Delalat Alhayryn" by taking advantage of the achievements of the Islamic philosophers.
