Bibinegar and Misesghabar

Once upon a time there was a woman who could not become pregnant. One day she went at a dead tree near her home which was sacred and cried there and said: "O God! I vow that if I give birth to a daughter, she will always serve to this dead tree, and if I give birth to a son, he will be its servant forever."
The woman got pregnant and after nine months and nine days she gave birth to a daughter. She selected the name of Bibinegar for her. Several years elapsed. One day the girl, in accompany with two other girls went to the spring to bring water. When they reached near the sacred log, they heard a voice saying: "The first person: no. The middle person: no. The last person: yes. Say your mother to bring me immediately what she vowed to me." Bibinegar said herself that maybe she was addressed to this speech. To become sure in this respect, she changed her position and stood between the two other girls. Again they heard a voice saying: "Not the first one, nor the last one but the middle one. Say your mother to bring me immediately what she vowed to me." Bibinegar went and stood as the last person, and this time again the voice addressed her directly with the same message. This story repeated several days. At last she said her mother the message of the log and asked her what she had vowed to the dead tree. The mother said her daughter what she had vowed prior to her pregnancy. After that, she dressed her daughter a ragged clothes and gave her an old rug and sent her to the sacred log and ordered her to obey what the log would order her.
The girl went to the log and spread the rug on the ground and sat on the rug. After a while, suddenly she heard a terrible voice. The girl faced the log and said: "O dead tree! Are you human being or jinn, or elf, or …? Whatever you are, let me know." A voice came from the log saying that it was neither human being nor jinn. Suddenly a young man appeared at the log and sat in front of the girl. A few beautiful carpets and a bicycle appeared too. By turning the bicycle to the right hand, gold would pour from it, and by turning it to the left hand, ruby would pour from it. He put also some expensive furniture in front of the girl. The young man put a turquoise ring round the finger of the girl and put the expensive fur coat he had on the shoulder of the girl and said her: "Take care of this fur coat very well. If you lose it or destroy it, a separation would occur between us." The young man whose name was Misesghabar said this and went.
The aunt of Bibinegar was hidden in a corner and was listening to what he was saying the girl. Since she wished Bibinegar to become daughter – in – law of herself, she decided to fire the fur coat.
One day the aunt came to Bibinegar and talked with her and wanted her to leave the log and return back to home. But Bibinegar did not accept to do so. Then the aunt said her: "Let me to comb your hair." She put the head of the girl on her skirt and combed her hair so much that the girl became unconscious. At that time, the aunt immediately, before the girl got up, dropped the fur coat in the fire of the oven, and then she went. The fur coat burned.
When the girl regained consciousness, she noticed that all things had disappeared and only there was the dead log was beside her with her ragged clothes and old rug. From that all things and furniture she saw only the turquoise ring put round her finger by that young man, Misesghabar. The girl went to her mother and told her what happened to her and her decision to follow the young man. She said this and went outside the city toward the desert and went and went until she got thirsty. She did not find any water to drink. She continued until when she reached a flock of sheep. She wanted some milk from the shepherd. The shepherd said her: "Don't be so rude! These are properties of Misesghabar which had given them to Bibinegar, his wife."
The girl kept her way until she reached a flock of camel. There too she pleaded the camel driver to give her some milk, but he replied him the same answer. The girl passed the camel driver and went to the cow guardian and heard from him the same answer again.
She went and went until she reached near a spring. She saw that a boy was holding a container and walking toward the spring. She said him: "Dear boy! Please give me your container to drink water." The boy said: "This is Misesghabar's container. I am not allowed to give it to anyone." The girl cursed and sought God to change the water in the container into pus and blood.
The boy made the container full of water and went. When he wanted to pour the water of the container onto the hands of Misesghabar, Misesghabar noticed that pus and blood were pouring from the container. He asked the boy the story. The boy told him the speech of the girl. Misesghabar said him: "Go and give her the container to drink water." The boy went and gave Bibinegar the container. The girl too dropped the turquoise ring into the container and made the container full of water and gave it to the boy. The boy went home.
When Misesghabar was washing his hands saw the ring and recognized it. He took her a bowl of raisins and dates and gave it to her. But he did not introduce him to her. He only said her: "All the persons you see here are demons. Make yourself dirty and pray to God and go to the demons and say them that you are a misery person and beg them an expense for your travel. I will come there too." The girl did so. Some of demons said that they should kill her. Another group of them said that they should imprison her. Misesghabar said: "Let's help her. Each one whatever he is able." Each demon gave her something and she went until she reached in front of the home of Misesghabar.
Misesghabar said his wife's mother that it was better to take that girl to serve them. His wife's mother who was his aunt, and after Bibinegar had given him her daughter, did not agree at all. But Misesghabar insisted so much and at last she agreed that that girl became the servant of Misesghabar.
After two nights, Misesghabar and Bibinegar took two horses and put on their backs some salt and iron and old sheep skin. At the midnight, Misesghabar went and cut off the head of his wife and put it on her breast. He wrote on a page that he, Misesghabar, had done that act. Then he and Bibinegar rode their horses and escaped.
In the morning, the aunt came and called them. But no one answered. She opened the door and saw that her daughter's head was cut off. As she read the letter of Misesghabar, immediately got ready and followed them.
In a moment, misesghabar noticed that his wife's mother was following them behind them. He dropped the old skin onto the ground and prayed. The old skin changed to a tall mountain. The wife's mother swiftly passed over the mountain. Misesghabar noticed that the old woman was approaching. So he dropped the iron. The old woman passed over the mountain of iron too. For the third time she was approaching that he dropped salt. The salt changed to a bid sea. Misesghabar and Bibinegar passed over the water surface of the sea by their horses, but the old woman had no way to pass. So she began to beg. Misesghabar noticed existence of a white spot in the water. He said the old woman: "Put your foot on that stone in order that you can pass the sea." As soon as the old woman jumped to reach her to the stone, she drowned. Some of the sea water splashed to the land and changed into a beautiful deer. Misesghabar and Bibinegar took that deer with themselves to home.
After a while, Bibinegar noticed that whenever Misesghabar was not present, the deer annoyed her. One day Bibinegar said Misesghabar: "Kill this deer. It annoys me during the days." Misesghabar did not accept. When it was night, the deer changed into a woman and put the sleeps of all the people, except the sleep of Bibinegar, in a glass bottle. That woman prepared a great pot of water on the fire and wanted to drop Bibinegar into the boiling water. She said Bibinegar: "Take off your clothes. I want to drop you into the pot." Bibinegar said: "Let me pray before." The woman accepted and Bibinegar went to the roof and began to pray and cry. Suddenly a peri appeared in front of her and said Bibinegar: "That woman had put the sleeps of the people in the glass bottle. Hit that bottle into the ground in order that the people to wake up." Bibinegar did that act.
Misesghabar and other people woke up. As the husband of Bibinegar was informed of the story, he picked up the deer and dropped it into the boiling water of the pot, and said Bibinegar: "All of these seditions are sourced from my aunt. Take this glass and go to the home of my aunt. First of all, say hello. Then you will reach a place where you will see that straw has been put in front of the dog and bone has been put in front of the camel. You should change the places of bone and straw. You will see a small garden which my aunt calls it as needle – pins. Give it water and call it as "O my deer little garden"! Then you will enter the room and you will observe that the carpet and bed are dirty and dusty. You should clean them and make them tidy. Then my aunt will want you to comb her hair. You should comb her hair. Then she will sleep. When he slept you should hit her head hard to the ground and run away." Bibinegar did all these acts. When she was running away, the aunt ordered all the animals and things of her house to catch her but they did not obeyed her order and said that the girl had loved us. The aunt said the dog: "Catch the girl." The dog said: "You gave me straw for seven years, but she gave me bone. If catching is good, I'll catch you." Then the dog caught the aunt and tore her.
After that, Bibinegar went to Misesghabar. Also Misesghabar took out of the form of demon and took the form of human being. They continued a happy common life for many several years.
