Serves 6
Ingredients:
500 g ground meat
3 medium onions
300 g chickpeas
5 cups rice
1 kg green leafy vegetables, tarragon, dill, leek, parsley, finely chopped
1 fistful of sultana raisins or prunes
1 fistful walnuts kernels
1 cup fried onion
Salt, pepper and turmeric for seasoning
Directions:
Soak chickpeas in a bowl a day in advance. Equally, immerse rice in water 24 hours. Drain them fully.
Put 1 cup rice and chopped vegetables in a pot along with enough water to cook.
Grate the onions into tiny shreds and mix with meat, drained chickpeas and rice in an appropriate mixing bowl. Grind well in a mincer. Sprinkle salt, pepper and turmeric and knead with your palm 10 minutes.
In a pan greased in 1 tbsp. oil, sauté the fried onion, raisins or prunes, and walnuts. Pick a piece of meat mixture and place the sautéed stuff in the center. Wrap carefully into an orange-sized ball. Lay the meatballs in the boiling pot of vegetables and rice. Make sure to keep distance. They shouldn’t be place next to each other.
Allow to cook well.

You can make tomato sauce to apply in your cuisine.
