Hamdollah Mostofi introduced the people of Lar as traders who went to sea trips. In the 16th and 17th centuries, silver coins were used on the coasts of the Persian Gulf and India, known as Larin, which were minted in Lar in the weight of 9.4 grams and after the capture of Laristan by Shah Abbas these coins were popular, but they were popular in India for many years.
Larestan is a beautiful land with a sensational history and it was called "Irahestan" and is the center of Islamic knowledge and culture.
The first history that has stated Larestan is Tabari's history, which tells how the Sassanid Ardeshiran dominates the vintage land, which over time the letter "A" was removed from the word Alar and it became Lar.
The most ancient monument of Larestan dates back to the Parthian period. The Azar Farnbagh fire temple is located in Karyan village of Jowim district, which is one of the three greatest Iranian fire temples in the pre-Islamic period.
The fire temple of Azarrrnbgh Karyan is now just a hill and is known as "Tumbeh Teshi", but the "Mahalcheh" fire temple in the Oz section is still ok and it is recorded in the National Works of Iran.
The language of the people of Larestan is composed of the words of Dari and Pahlavi, and the religion of the people is composed of Shiite and Sunni religions. But the unity and sympathy between them has always existed and has a history of Shia and Sunni unity in this region.
Larestan includes Oz, Banarowi Beiram, Jowim, Emaddeh, Gerayesh and Markazi, each of which is characterized by sweet folks and sweet behavior, workplace, effort and patience.
These patient people are preserving historical works and sites that can be called living museums. Larestan, especially the Oz section in the south of Fars in the vicinity of sunshine is a place of creation, innovation and a place of high humanity. Laristan, which today is divided into several cities, is the land of intimacy and the heat of the cold hearts.
Larestan's Seventh Sections have people who have stubbornly fought with a fierce nature, split the mountains to reach a fountain or a pond, or construct a pond to reward and save and use the Divine merits, and even for a living they did not care drinking salty and bitter water, and one of its poets says:
Wherever a pond is sitting on the soil
Undoubtedly that place is the border of Larestan
If the spring is spreading
It is a Baharestan carpet
Unfortunately, this year there has been no rain and we do not see the Baharestan carpet (the wonderful landscape). Larestan must be seen and we should sit down with its people and match with them and their sweet words.
This area is especially attractive to tourists due to its proximity to Hormozgan province; pristine architectures, historic and cultural sites, especially handicrafts of Oz and Halva have all added to the attractiveness of the region.
Its warm and dry climate with the work of hardworking humans in creating green foliage on one side, and the diverse cylindrical and rectangular cisterns on the other side, in a way that over 700 water cisterns have been built by the decent people only in the Oz section, increase attractiveness of this southern region.
