Sun City

Maybod is the historic and desert with several thousand years old antiquity that its historical context is still alive.
When we talk about a living historical context, we all remember of Yazd, the center of this province in that the traditional context is still alive and breathing and almost half of them received the National Register. We can roam in this city and its traditional context and see its historic and scenic tourist attractions and monuments and buildings that are mostly registered in the national index and live thousands of years. The effects of the long story of this city can be seen in the works of artisans. Their pottery is linked to the art and innovation of their history. Maybodian White-blue tiles and it famous carpets are not the only hand art of these people. In this desert town, the sun will come to your eyes, but not the scorching desert sun that irritates the eyes, so many happy unibrow sun woman that are set on tiles and pottery for years.

Maybod already has a hotel and an inns; Bahjat hotel at the beginning of Basij Boulevard and Nasser inns in front of the governor. How to get there?
The tiles city
Maybod is 20 km away from the city of Yazd and 750 km away from Tehran.
Yazd: If you have a personal vehicle, you can get there in 45 minutes. Just enter the Sento road and go straight ahead to Maybod. You can also go there by bus, van, taxi and train. From the yazd’s terminal you can get there with 500 Tooman.
Tehran: Enter the Kashan highway. After passing through the cities of Qom, Kashan, Ardestan and Ardakan you will get to Maybod. You can go there with every terminal in Yazd and after about 8 hours you can get there.

Walk through history
If you get there with your personal vehicle, follow our proposed route. But if you come by train, visit the opposite direction.
Kaboutarkhane tower: Here is the most famous place for visit. A beautiful Qajar tower for 4 thousand pigeons. You don’t have to buy ticket to visit this tower, but the governor in the town and you should coordinate with the security before the visit.
Narin Castle: After the tower, go to the City Hall Square and you will get to Narin castle. This old and massive brick castle is around 7 thousand years old. Much of this original brick tower was demolished, but if you want see a beautiful view of the city go up. The cost of a ticket is 200 Tooman.
Shah Abbasi Caravanserai: After Narin castle, go to Ghazi Mirhossein Street to see a beautiful Safavid Caravanserai. Resorts with 100 rooms and a veranda and a stove that was for the night's guests and the carpet museum is here.
Chaparkhaneh: Chaparkhaneh is located beside the inn. This place is in fact one of the old express messenger houses that stretch back at least to the Safavid period. And today, some of post tools are displayed in here.
Brick Refrigerator: When you come out the Chaparkhaneh, you can see abig brick building that is known by Brick Refrigerator. You should appreciate this Qajar refrigerator, because it is one of the few refrigerators in Yazd province that is still intact.
Historical context: Although all of Maybod is interesting, but you can go to 300 Hectari in a small neighborhood, Narin Castle courtyard side, and the gate of the neighboring house "Kasnava" to watch the historical context of this living city.
Grand Mosque and Salar house: the 800 years old Grand Mosque is now can be used after restoration. After watching the mosque, then go to Salar house that is exactly behind the mosque, a beautiful Qajar home and watch it free.
Hand Crafts: You can buy the best Pottery in handicrafts town in Maybod. To get to this town, you should go to Shahid Jafari nezhad Blvd. and then Ceramic Square. If you bought something, it is not bad to see the manufacturing plants in the back of exhibition.
