Quran is divine message and is an approach from a messenger that is special and direct student of God. If all genius persons and elites share their thoughts, they cannot present such trains;
''وَلَوْلَا فَضْلُ اللَّهِ عَلَيْكَ وَرَحْمَتُهُ لَهَمَّت طَّائِفَةٌ مِّنْهُمْ أَن يُضِلُّوكَ وَمَا يُضِلُّونَ إِلَّا أَنفُسَهُمْ ۖ وَمَا يَضُرُّونَكَ مِن شَيْءٍ ۚ وَأَنزَلَ اللَّهُ عَلَيْكَ الْكِتَابَ وَالْحِكْمَةَ وَعَلَّمَكَ مَا لَمْ تَكُن تَعْلَمُ ۚ وَكَانَ فَضْلُ اللَّهِ عَلَيْكَ عَظِيمًا''
''But for the Grace of Allah to thee and his Mercy, a party of them would certainly have plotted to lead thee astray. But (in fact) they will only Lead their own souls astray, and to thee they can do no harm in the least. For Allah hath sent down to thee the Book and wisdom and taught thee what thou Knewest not (before): And great is the Grace of Allah unto thee''.
''كَمَا أَرْسَلْنَا فِيكُمْ رَسُولًا مِّنكُمْ يَتْلُو عَلَيْكُمْ آيَاتِنَا وَيُزَكِّيكُمْ وَيُعَلِّمُكُمُ الْكِتَابَ وَالْحِكْمَةَ وَيُعَلِّمُكُم مَّا لَمْ تَكُونُوا تَعْلَمُونَ''
''A similar (favour have ye already received) in that We have sent among you a Messenger of your own, rehearsing to you Our Signs, and sanctifying you, and instructing you in Scripture and Wisdom, and in new knowledge''.
Relationship between Quran and the culture of the darkness era is one of new matters in the area of studying Quran and is highly important because a logical and reasonable stand with this matter can reveal the secrets of the verses related to the beliefs and the customs of Arabic people in darkness era and help us to understand and interpret Quran better.
No one among societies of human, except a person that brought Quran (prophet), has called out God for human all over the world during the history. He claimed leadership, true purposes and presentation of life plan for human. He never went to any schools and did not write anything, but he was an elite teacher for human when people were illiterate and did not have any culture and civilization.
The west of the earth is interested in the idea of the effect getting of the holy books from the culture of darkness era. Studying the distorted texts of the current Bible and analyzing their history, the western scientists have concluded that the Bibles were written by some persons (such as Merghes, Lugha, Meti,Yuhena, …) and they wrote these texts years after the era of Hazrat Isa inspiring from the culture of their era. Ayan Barbur claims that some parts of Turat Book were written eight hundred years after Hazrat Musa. Even the event of the decease of Hazrat Musa and his funeral ceremony has been mentioned in Turat Book. The holy book is against science in different cases and is combined with superstitions and inner conflicts.
The idea of effect getting from the culture of darkness era about the holy book could be somewhat true. Later it was transferred to Quran through orientalists and the complete effect getting of Quran from Christian and Jewish cultures was presented in Al-Arab Island in the time of the advent of the Islam.
For the first time, Abrahim Giger introduced the sources of Quran in monotheism, Sharia and the way of expressing Jewish matters in the book'' Muhammad has taken something from Jewish Texts'' in 1863. Giger became the head of the ideas related to Quran.
''The idea of the effect getting of Quran from the culture of darkness era (whether Jewish and Christian cultures especially in the aspect of the elements of the culture of Arab of darkness era) led to the analysis of writings of contemporary writers of the Islam and it faced to agreeable persons and opponents that will be mentioned''.
The doubt of the effect getting of Quran from the environment of the prophet is rooted in the thought of some Arabic people around the beginning of the Islam. They believed that the prophet collected Quran according to the previous fictions common among people; in other words, it was influenced by the fictions of the time.
Hence, we can say that the matter of relationship between Quran and the culture of darkness era is rooted in the interpretations of Quran from the beginning of the Islam until now because most of interpreters of Quran have discussed and analyzed some aspects of this matter in interpreting some verses of Quran although they have not used the term '' Quran and the culture of darkness era''. For example, interpreters have usually expressed matters in relation to the culture of darkness era along with the verses related to darkness era.
Quran is the remark of God that has been descended to the prophet neither less nor more and the prophet annunciated it to the people and tens writers wrote it in the era of the prophet and a lot of persons memorized it. It has been narrated over and over again that Quran was not distorted by the prophet, its narrators and the persons that had memorized it.
In contrast, according to the confession of Jewish and Christian scientists, Bible and Turat books that were written after Hazrat Musa and Hazrat Isa were influenced by the culture of darkness era especially the culture of Greece.
Quran has disagreed with Turat, Bible and the culture of contemporary Arab in different cases such as polytheism, worshipping idol and the matters related to the story of Lut and other prophets, the matter of trinity and the crossing of Hazrat Isa in verses and the trains of beliefs, morals and rules. Hence, it cannot be said that Quran was influenced by the Arabic, Christian and Jewish cultures.
In contrast with Turat and Bible, Quran is not only against science, but it is also in line with the new findings of science and in some cases, it includes some scientific miracles and in some cases, Quran is in contrast with science which can be explained and answered in the matter of doubts and its answers.
Some interpreters believe that Quran was not influenced by the culture of Arab before the Islam and Quran has no relationship with the culture of Arab.
Quran not only has talked about the Arabic effect of Quran, but also it has said about the weak points of the culture of Arab in that era and has regularly criticized the culture of Arab and has tried to improve their culture.
The style and the tone of the verses are in the way that we can give negative answers to these questions clearly. In other words, there is no need that a reader gets familiar with the culture of Arab in order to understand the meaning of each and every verse, but it is enough for a reader to move along the path of Arabic Language and to apply his or her thought so that he or she can benefit from the light of these stars.
To discover relationship between Quran and the culture of Arab, we should analyze the verses of Quran. If the verses convey their meanings and purposes regardless of the culture of Arab so that a reader of Quran can understand it, we can consider the content without relationship with the culture of Arab. In other words, if the understanding of the content is gained without awareness of the Arabic culture, it turns out that the content does not have any relationship with the culture of Arab, but the verses that cannot be understood without the awareness of the culture of Arab are influenced by the culture of Arab.
Then he expresses different examples of the verses of Quran that have no relationship with the culture of Arab such as Ale Umran Surah/ verses 2, 19, Najm Surah/ verse 4. Then he divides verses into two groups: the verses that include the culture of Arab more and the verses that include the culture of Arab not much and writes
''Most of the verses of influential Quran have such a condition and this shows that we should not discover the effect of Arabic culture on Quran along with the language of Arab and we should consider the verses of Quran as the guest of Al-Arab Island''.
However, there are few verses that we can observe the existence of Arabic Culture. These kinds of verses are divided into two groups: the first group includes most of Arabic culture and the verses are in the way that addresses can understand meaning hidden in words without considering the culture of Arab. For example, according to the following verse, every one that is well familiar with culture of Arab knows that the people of Al-Arab Island used camels in order to transport. But is this familiarity necessary to understand the verse?
The answer of this question is negative because even if a person that is not familiar with such culture faces to such a verse understands that God has summoned human to look at the quality of the creation of animals that are a species of the creatures of the world and an exact look at the life of this animal turns out that this animal does not belong only to the era of the prophet and the boundary of his hometown, but also in each era, it is possible to geographicalsearch about the way of living and the quality of the creation of camel and reveal the secrets of the creation of camel. Such a thing is true about date, grapes, pomegranate, fig, lunar calendar, black-eyed angels and…
However, there are few verses in Quran that we need to know the culture of Arab so that we can understand them exactly, but their content is not dependant on the culture of Arab. In comparing to other verses, these kinds of verses are very few. For example, it is said in Quran
لاِيلاَفِ قُرَيشٍ * إِيلاَفِهِمْ رِحْلَةَ الشِّتَاءِ وَالصَّيْفِ * فَلْيَعْبُدُوا رَبَّ هذَا الْبَيْتِ * الَّذِي أَطْعَمَهُم مِن جُوعٍ وَآمَنَهُم مِنْ خَوْفٍ
Although familiarity with the culture of Ghoreish and the migrations of the winter can help us to understand the verse, the expression of the verse is that the soul of the verse and the main message of the verse are hidden in the framework of the time and it can be understood without familiarity with this culture of migration.
For example, thinking about the meaning of the verse, a Persian person can understand that the message of the verses that is '' Ghoreish Tribe should worship God because he has made them familiar with the migration of the winter and the summer so that they can meet their needs and be safe in their country.
Hence, it can be concluded that the dependency of non-human text of Quran to the culture of Arab leads to God whose nature is holy and out any kinds of passivity. Especially this text has a universal message and its addresses are the people of all eras and generations.
Consequently, the Arabic Language is like a cover over the trains of Quran and to understand it, we should remove this cover. Hence, such a matter is true about any kinds of texts and exalted God has talked about the Arabic Language of Quran.
However, he has not considered a cover of Arabic culture for the verses of Quran and has not presented phrases and sentences within the Arabic culture of the era of the prophet of the Islam because Quran has been sent for all of persons in all of eras. Hence, it should not be descended in the way that its understanding depends on familiarity with the culture of the people of an era because the culture and the custom of the people of that era may be forgotten. As a consequence, the understanding of the text will face to a serious problem.
The language of Quran is clear Arabic Language. In other words, this language is clear enough to transfer messages and to influence the soul of human. We believe that the text of Quran is not only dependant on the culture of Al-Arab Island, but it also teaches a unique new culture to human. This new culture of Quran influenced the culture of Arab and the culture of other societies; therefore, they achieved a new path of the life.
Several matters should be analyzed separately about this point of view.
1. The principle that Quran was not influenced by the culture of darkness era absolutely is not true and its reasons will be mentioned along with the second point of view.
2. Appropriate relationship between Quran and the culture of Arab that leads to a new culture creation is true. This matter will be explained along with the second point of view as well.
. It is true and appropriate that the verses of Quran are beyond time and place.3
Relationship between Quran and Arabic Language and its aspects such as using Arabic words, proverbs, comparisons and syntactical conjugational forms is true. In other words, Quran has used the common features of the culture of Arab.
Of course, this matter does not mean that Quran was influenced by the culture of Arab, but it is the necessity of talking to Arabic addressees and it is a common affair that happens in any books. This matter will be explained more along with the second point of view.
5. Lack of relationship of Quran with the culture of Arab mentioned in the above text does not seem appropriate because most of the verses of Quran include the rank of descending or refer to the historical events of Arab and non-Arab and the geographical situations of Al-Arab Island which helps us to understand and to interpret these verses better according to the geographical and historical documents.
Of course, this matter does not mean the effect getting of Quran from the culture of Arab before the Islam. In principle, there should be difference between cultural aspects in understanding and interpreting and the effect of culture in providing the content of verses.
These two matters have been combined in the mentioned point of view and article.
6. According to the mentioned matters, it turns out that if the view of lack of effect of Quran from the culture of the era of descending means lack of relationship of Quran with the culture of Arab, as it can be understood from the above point of view, it will not be correct. If the purpose of the writer is in this way that Quran does not reflect the culture of Arab and superstitions and false remarks are not found in Quran, but Quran changes the culture of Arab, this matter that is the second point of view (relationship Quran and the culture of era that is the acceptance of positive elements and the rejection of negative elements and culture distribution) will be correct.
Quran is book of guidance and training and is like a luminous light and shows path for deep thinkers easily.
Quran rejected the negative elements of the culture of Arab, accepted positive elements rooted in the religions of God, wisdom and the nature of human, improved and completed them and created a new culture named '' the Islamic culture''.
The desirable culture of Quran includes features that are against the negative features of the culture of Arab of darkness era.
The most important features of the culture of Quran include:
1. Belief feature (pivotal monotheism);
Above of all, Quran emphasizes on monotheism and belief in single God and stands against the culture of Arabic people in darkness time insisting on polytheism and blasphemy and constantly denies blasphemy and monotheism and introduces the hell as their final destination.Political features: Quran invites all of people to obey God, the prophet and the leaders of God and summons human to unity. .
Hence, it concentrates on the political power of the society and considers all honors for God, the prophet and the believers. In this way, a powerful government was set up in Medina and defeated the powerful governments of the era, Iran and Rome. This is the opposite point of the political way of Arabic people in darkness era that faced to discord among tribes, war and humility among the powers of the contemporary era.
4. Social features (freedom, safety, fairness and the removal of superstitions);
One of purposes of the prophet of the Islam is the freedom of action from unpleasant habits and superstitions. One of purposes of the mission of the Islam and the descending of Quran is to establish fairness.
After the emergence of the Islam in Al-Arab Island, safety relatively established and the tribes lived together comfortably and the hundred year wars of the tribes of Arab ended. This was the opposite point of the culture of Arabic people in darkness era.
4. Moral features (the greatness of human and moral ugliness);
Quran laid crown on the head of Bani Adam and introduced him as the caliph and the successor of God. It also stood against violating the rights of woman and burying living girls.
Quran summons human to moral principles, introduces soul purification as one of the purposes of the prophet, rebukes the ugly attributes, desires and worldliness and stands against sexual pollutions. This was against the morals of Arabic people of darkness era.
Quran also introduces the basis of a family kindness and affection;
وَمِنْ آيَاتِهِ أَنْ خَلَقَ لَكُم مِنْ أَنفُسِكُمْ أَزْوَاجاً لِّتَسْكُنُوا إِلَيْهَا وَجَعَلَ بَيْنَكُم مَوَدَّةً وَرَحْمَةً إِنَّ فِي ذلِكَ لَآيَاتٍ لِقَوْمٍ يَتَفَكَّرُونَ؛
Quran emphasizes on marriage and considers its rules fair with marriage portion for woman as their rights and has clarified the rules of divorce wisely and fairly. Quran has also stood against unfair marriages and divorces of darkness era. Moreover, Islam considers the choice right of woman as the condition of the validity of marriage and marriage portion as the right of women and without the satisfaction of woman, it is not allowed to violate their marriage portion. It is fair that men marry only four women.
Scientific features (science increase, eradicating ignorance and thinking):
Quran encourages people to think and to increase knowledge and disapproves following the way of their fathers. Such away can be seen in the way of the prophet and Ahle Beit. Hence, the society of Arab left behind darkness era (only twenty one persons were educated) and entered the world full of the light of science and wisdom as the Islamic society became the pioneer of sciences throughout the world in less than two centuries and presented a lot of scientists such as Bu Ali Sina, Zakaria Razi and … in different courses to the world of human.
Basically, Quran became the founder of some sciences and improved other sciences.
Quran responded the culture of Arab before the Islam in different ways. Sometimes, Quran tried to prove them. In other words, it has accepted the positive elements of the culture of Arab rooted in the religions of God or mind and nature. Sometimes, it tried to deny them. In other words, it disapproved the negative elements of the culture of Arab in time of the descending of Quran. Sometimes, it tried to modify. In other words, it accepted and modified the positive elements of the culture of Arab in darkness era deviated.
A proving reaction against the culture of Arab of the descending:
Of course, proving reaction does not mean the passiveness of exalted God and Quran against the culture of Arab, but it is to use the positive cultural elements to achieve to high goals and to keep relationship with addressees. This way includes different cases such as:
First: Using the natural elements of culture:
Quran used the Arabic Language to convey messages to the people and naturally, it used the main and practical words, proverbs, comparisons, swears, the words of emphasis and historical and geographical expressions. This was a common matter because everyone that wanted to guide the nation or to write a book for them had to use this way and such a way is found in all of the civilizations and the religions.
Basically, using this way is the effect getting of Quran from the culture of darkness era, but it is a kind of communicating with addressees in order to achieve goals and using these cues and the means of language is to transfer messages to addressees.
The prophets of God used comparisons, metaphors, common ironies and common words in the society so that the prophets could express difficult matters, religious superb conceptions and logical conceptions to common people and they could understand their purposes since they were illiterate and were not aware of scientific matters. In other words, they sermonized people within their mind.
Using ironies, idioms and common expressions of language (Each speaker has to use them) is not considered as the acceptance of discourse and scientific markers. For example, the word '' a mad'' that is common in Persian does not mean the acceptance of persons suffering insanity. Quran or any speakers that do not accept the word '' an insane person'' in Quran use these terms as counselors. Of course, this matter does not mean that Quran has expressed unscientific matters and has talked according to the scientific ideas of darkness era such as Btmyvsy Committee and Jalinusi Medicine.
Parable and comparisons that are a kind of synecdoche in Quran are not considered as telling lies in Quran because synecdoche, parable and comparisons are applied symmetrically. Hence, lying is different.
As Quran used the language of the tribe, words, expressions, proverbs and the comparisons of the people of Arab in the time of its descending in order to teach matters to addresses, but the language of Quran is extremely fluent, eloquent and polite.
Quran has used cursing about tyrants (cursing in order to make them go away from the mercy of God), but it has not used abuse words about the opponents.
Quran has considered scientists without actions like animals such as dog and donkey (Jome Surah/ verse 5- Araaf Surah/ verses 175-176). The aspect of their comparison is stupid and impossible and it shows the degree of persons in the world and maybe their inners. Of course, this is not considered as insulting them, but these are considered as warnings in order to wake them up.
Some contemporary writers have remembered the above way as '' the language of the tribe'' and have accepted it. They mean the language of the tribe as the word of the tribe (words along with cultural and meaningful associations that provide the ground of communicating with others).
It reminds that this language does not have time and place limitations in that era and is not dependent on it. It is not in contrast with the completeness and consistence of Quran. Hence, it can communicate with other personalities and different addresses.
Then it is reminded that the necessity of using the language of the tribe reflects culture and literature in Quran. Whatever Quran expresses is not in contrast with reality and fact and does not use false remarks against science.
He mentions the example of Btmvysy Committee common in that time and Quran does not try to falsify or correct the idea although it does not say any remarks to confirm the ideas.
He also reminds that the existence of tmsahs in the language of the tribe is a lot and mentions the example of the struggle of Ibrahim and Namrud.
He has not expressed any word reasons and symmetrical interpretations about '' Lesan Ghom'' in Ibrahim Surah/ verse 4 in the meaning of the word of the tribe. But they narrate in another part of the remarks of Allame Tabatabaei that '' Lesan Ghom'' means the language of the tribe that proves his opposite remarks.
Although this matter is appropriate according to logical reasons and Hadiths, talking of each prophet with the people was within the understanding of the people and the level of their thinking. But this is not related to the verse '' Lesan Ghom''. Hence, using this verse about this case and naming this idea on the basis of this interpretation of the verse are not appropriate.
In relation to the case of Ibrahim and Namrud, this matter is a kind of good struggle and it is discussed with the opposite side on the basis of some conditions. Quran and Ibrahim do not want to express and accept the idea that the earth is stagnant. Hence, there is no tmash in Quran. The complete matters in relation to this case will be mentioned in the discussion of the doubts.
Basically Mr Ayazi criticizes and abolishes this matter '' the tmash of Quran in the acceptance of Btmvysy Committee leads to something that is expressed in his book as '' the reflection of darkness era in Quran '' and the effect getting of Quran from darkness era.
Quran narrates and confirms the positive elements of the culture of Arab before the Islam and agrees with divine messages, wisdom and nature.
Keeping allegiances that is one of affairs absolutely accepted in the Islam was confirmed in Quran over and over again. Persons that have kept their allegiances have been encouraged and persons that have broken their promises have been censured.
In some cases, Quran has accepted the distorted positive elements in the culture of Arab before the Islam to modify them. In other words, the cultural elements rooted in the previous religions of God are accepted by wisdom or nature. But during time, they were distorted and deviated. Narrating them and warning about dissertations and deviations, Quran has improved and completed them as it has been done about Hajj.
It has been said in the books of the rank of descending and interpretation that according to the beliefs of darkness era, everyone that went to Hajj did not enter there through the door, but they went there the hole behind the door. They did not fight with each other in these months although they committed some sins. Or they replaced Haram Months. Hence, Quran confirmed this cultural matter that has the basis of God and censured persons that fought in these months and replaced them and abolished the permission of war with the polytheists.
Referring to the persons believing in God in the time of the descending of Quran and their belief in God as the creator of the sky and the earth and the organizer of the moon and the sky, Quran censures their neglect from God.
Quran censures the neglect of ignorant persons to the ownership of God on the earth and the sky although they are aware of it.
Referring to the awareness of ignorant persons of the absolute commandership of God, considering God as the shelter of persons and not being supported by God, Quran complains that they are spelled against a false path.
Quran considers ignorant persons that worshipped other things than God and said '' we worship them if they have us approach God'' as liars and unthankful persons and does not have them benefit from the guide of God.
Quran disproves worshiping idols that neither benefit nor harm to their worshipers, but they imagined that they interceded them and considers God better than them.
Quran censures persons that choose intermediates other than God and wants the prophet to ask them '' do you consider things as intermediates that do not own something and do not think?
Apart from censuring the polytheists, it reminds them of whatever they address and worship other than God are not intermediates.
Censuring idolism, wakening up the polytheists and proving the weakness of idols that they worship instead of God, Quran reminds human that their idols cannot create only a fly and if a fly steals something from them, they cannot take it back.
Quran censures persons that worship Idols that cannot guide them to a right path and considers God that guides human to true path more decent to worship.
Quran censures worshipping idols that have no choice and will and neither benefit from their worshippers nor harm them and considers them things that misguide human.
To disapprove ignorant persons, Quran reminds that they swear God as firmly as if a person comes from the prophets to them, they will be more guided from other nations. But when the prophet of the Islam came to them, they only disagreed and expressed hate.
Quran criticizes the thoughts of the people of darkness era, God should not be like human, should not eat food and should not walk in the mall and censures the false beliefs of ignorant persons about the prophet.
Quran reveals persons that built idols so that human worshipped them and proves that their purpose was to misguide human and their consequence is the fire of hell.
Quran disapproves the cupidity of stupid materialists that make maids do promiscuous actions and gaining wealth in this illegitimate way and wants the Muslims to refuse to do such actions.
Quran censures the polytheists that do not prostrate against merciful God.
Quran reflects false and ignorant thoughts of persons in the time of his descending about the doomsday and resurrection in different verses and considers the doomsday as the definite promise of God that most of people are not aware of.
Quran censures the polytheists that do not prostrate against merciful God.
Quran rejects the high expectations of the polytheists from the prophet of the Islam in relation to implementing different and impossible miracles and wants. the prophet to announce them '' my God is pure and immaculate and am I except a sent person of God (prophet).
Quran censures the persons believing in darkness era about women and left wealth from men that had died and wants the believers not to have women under their control through inheritance like commodities by force and reluctantly.
God considers incest harm whether clearly or secretly and prevent believers from incest although it was common in the time of darkness era.
Filicide: Quran prohibits filicide due to fear and poverty, considers a big sin and reminds that God bestows the daily bread of their children and families.
Quran disapproves persons that did not believe in God that is the creator of seven heavens and great throne in the time of the prophet.
Moreover, God censures the unfaithfulness of the followers of the culture of darkness era whereas they knew that God bestowed their daily bread from the sky and the earth, was the owner of their eyes and ears, made dead persons alive and alive persons dead and organized affairs.
Quran disapproves the vices of persons in darkness era such as burring girls as they are alive.
Quran does not accept that the Arabic persons of darkness era considered step son as their real child and determined equal rights between them and accepts relating step sons to their fathers fairly and properly.
Quran rejects the belief of persons in darkness time that the wife of step son could not marry his father-in-law and has permitted to marry the divorced wives of step sons.
Whereas the people of darkness era did not consider any inheritance for women as well as common men, Quran has considered inheritance for men and women and according to considered benefits, the share of each one is considered.
Quran does not accept that the polytheists follow incorrect guesses and reminds them that guesses do not decrease the validity of truths.
Quran does not accept the custom of darkness era, men swear that they refuse to communicate to their wives, and disapproves it. Hence, the women were in dilemma, neither as the wife of their husband nor in freedom.
Quran also censures that woman ignore their marriage tuition under pressure.
Quran rejects this culture of darkness time, they did not allow the divorced women to marry again, and wants the Muslims not prevent women from remarrying before the end of the time of eddeh.
Quran does not accept the divorce and references of women in the time of darkness era in order to bother them and allows men to refer to women in two divorces.
Quran does not allow to marry step mother that is considered as the inheritance of father and considers after the death of father and considers it as an inappropriate and disgusting way.
Quran rejects the custom of darkness era, a man can marry two sisters in a family and boycotts it.
Quran does not accept that widowed women are behaved strictly and are imprisoned in the worst part of house and the worst condition and does not consider the duration of their eddeh four months and ten days.
Quran considers the custom of darkness era, exchanging their wives with each other, haram.
Quran abolishes the extravagances of the Arab of darkness era about menstruated women, influenced by the Jewish thoughts, and orders to avoid communicating with them when they are in menstruation.
God considers the polytheists as tyrants and to prove their deviation, it wants them to prove what on the earth their idols have created and what cooperation they have had in the creation of the heavens.
Quran disagrees severely with the false belief of the polytheists, God has several daughters, and introduces human as an unthankful persons with clear blasphemy in this belief. Quran also presents this admonishing question'' Has God chosen girls among his creatures and has preferred you to boys? Whereas they imagined that girls were worse than boys.
The pugnation of rules and the customs of Arab of darkness era: Quran rejects Bahire, Saebeh, Vaslileh and Ham ( Maede Surah/ verse 103), considers benefit for God from lands and animals a false thought( Anaam Surah/ verse 106) and rejects usury along additional benefit( Ale Umran/ 130).
The rejection of the rule of Zihar: in darkness era, the wife of everyone that said to his husband '' in my opinion, your back is the back of my father'' became haram for him. Quran states about this case.
Quran has ordered that men can marry four times if there is fairness among them. Hence, it disagrees with the excessive marriages of men in darkness era and if there is not fairness among their wives, Quran recommends men to marry a wife.
It can be understood from the remarks of some writers and orientalists that Quran was completely influenced by the culture of the era of its descending, early Islamic period. In other words, Quran was influenced by the culture of the era of its descending that is the same culture of darkness time of Arab along with unscientific superstitions and God has recorded them in the text of Quran. Of course, some writers have accepted this point of view about Quran.
Hence, some contemporary writers have expressed and criticized this point of view as two ideas '' the reflection of the culture of darkness era'' and '' getting effect from the culture of darkness era.
The least of the reflection of darkness era is Arabic language. However, it is much more than it. The highest effect is using expressions and imaginations of the society of Arab. The world has its own place in customs and traditions. Quran expresses dark-eyed houris (not blue-eyed women) in the heaven and are seen in tents.
Quran talks about Ghoreish Tribe and their migration in the winter and the summer. Quran refers to Abu Lahab and his wife and they wear the cloth of date around their neck. Quran depicts pots, pillows and carpets woven with Gold in the heaven.
Quran interprets the fuss of the doomsday in the way that the sis-month pregnant camels are left alone.
Quran mentions the animals common among the Arab of darkness era such as horse, mule, camel, donkey, lion, elephant, pig, snake and …and things and tools common among them such as wool, camphor, ginger, seventy-zar chain, melted iron and … more than this can be understood from concentrating on Quran and the tradition of the prophet. These show how color, odor, talent, manners, grimness, the customs and the environment of Arab cover the central core of the Islamic thoughts.
The prophets have sermonized human within their understanding as it has been expressed in narrations. This matter involves reflecting some cultural elements of addresses in the time of descending of Quran in relation to the matters of the prophet such as Quran.
It should be mentioned that if we consider the language of the tribe as beliefs, even false beliefs, everything will be accepted by the prophet and Quran. Hence, struggles between uneducated persons, opponents and the polytheists and the prophets will be meaningless. Moreover, we will say that Quran has rejected some superstitions of Arab that are considered as their culture.
However, it does not mean that the prophets talked to persons against their mind and science, confirmed matters against reality and such matters should be expressed in Quran.
To talk within the mind of addresses is the necessity of correct and appropriate preaching and each wise speaker takes care of this matter and explains the difficult matters with examples so that listeners can understand it. Likewise, Quran has used this way over and over again and mentioned different examples.
However, this matter does not prove that Quran confirms the superstitions of uneducated Arab and matters against mind and science have been expressed in it, but this Hadith is in contrast with this matter because using this interpretation means '' talk to them within their mind. Of course, mind has «علي قدر عقولهم»
levels. Hence, according to this Hadith, the prophet is not allowed to talk in contrast with the idea of persons and should not accept their superstitions and unscientific matters. Hence, this Hadith does not order the prophet to use the culture off uneducated culture (about matters against mind) and teach them to persons.
According to the word and idiom meaning of culture, it must be mentioned that if purpose from culture of darkness era is elements such as literature, these cultural elements have to be presented in any books and sermons for the nation (persons that own such culture) and applying it is necessary for each culture to understand matters. Quran is an exception from this matter. Hence, Quran has not used the words and proverbs of Arab.
Even in some cases, Quran has stood against these cultural elements such as disapproving burying girls as they are alive (Takvir Surah/ verse 8), worshipping idol and polytheism, eating the dead and blood, drinking wine, gambling ( Maede Surah/ verse 3), changing haram months( Tobe Surah/ verse 37), adultery, considering angels as the daughters of God, considering Christ as the son of God, usury and worshipping by means of singing and clapping ( Infaal Surah/ verse 35) that will be continued.
If we accept that the matters of Quran were influenced by the culture of darkness era, there will be a question that some rules such as retaliation, punishing an adulterer, cutting the hand of a thief and … are related to the culture of uneducated Arab and have no use in our era . Since the rules of Quran are limited to time and place, they will not be used in later eras whereas the acceptance of this matter is a kind of the necessities of the religion and the rules of Quran are applied in all eras and are limited to specific places and times. But it is permanent and beyond specific time and place; in other words, it is sent to guide human.
The acceptance of the effect getting of Quran from the culture of darkness era involves the acceptance of superstitions, unscientific matters, deviational beliefs and unpleasant behaviors in Quran because there were such false matters in the culture of Arab before the Islam and as it was said, the supporters of this idea have expressed the existence of superstitions and unscientific matters in Quran.
If Quran is false and includes superstitions and unscientific matters, we cannot trust it and the Muslims cannot have holy texts as reason. This matter is not only in contrast with the content of Quran and the beliefs of the Muslims but also with fact and reality because according to the mentioned documents and reasons, the doubts of opponents about the effect getting of Quran about superstitions and uneducated Arab are false. Their answers were already mentioned.
If we accept that Quran is influenced by the culture of darkness era and surrender against its consequences such as Quran made by human, the time limitations of Quran and the invalidity of the text of Quran, its result will be that Quran will have no validity in the matters of policy, society, law and …and cannot have any places in the scene of the life of human and is a historical book that has personal recommendations in relation to devotional and moral areas whereas this matter is in contrast with the soul of Quran and Islam as it is in contrast with most of political and social trains and the appearance of the verses of Quran. As a matter of fact, ignoring Quran from the scene of the life of the Muslims is the main purpose of the conspiracies of colonization in relation to Quran and Muslims.
Features of Quran training
1. Comprehensiveness
Quran considers all of inner and outer aspects of the world of human and avoids looking at only its one aspect.2. Beyond place and time
Quran does not talk about specific place and time and special era and generation and communicates with human beyond time and place.3. Association with divine nature and structure of human
It is in line with needs of all persons anytime and anywhere and in any places and anytime.4. Expression of reality and avoidance of fancy
Quran never false remarks and reveals reality with all of its aspects and censures any kinds of fancies.5. Wisdom
Quran invites all of persons to wisdom and proper use of wisdom force and prevents from imitation and ignorance and considers peak of wisdom and achieving peak of science and knowledge as ultimate purpose of all persons.6. Moderation and balance and avoidance of going extremes
Quran selects moderate path and summons all of human to it. Hence, Quran is against worshipping the world and recommends persons to do good actions for the hereafter.7. Unity and avoidance of disagreement
In spite of the fact that Quran descended in cultural, political and social different situations, all of its approaches and messages were in line with each other and there were not any differences and contrasts among them.8. Report of historical realities with special purposes and specific messages
Quran is not book of stories, but it is book of object lessons and advice and it retells the destination of past people for object lesson and advice, following path of righteous people and separating path of persons that have gone awry.9. Prediction and prophesy
According to confession of Quran researchers and orientalists with false motivation and thoughts, there are remarks and reports about past and future, scientific realities about the world have not been known and will not be known for addressees in those eras, in past eras and until the doomsday through common ways.On the other hand, general lines of trains of Quran include the following elements:

God has good attributes and names;''قُلْ مَن رَّبُّ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ قُلِ اللَّهُ ۚ قُلْ أَفَاتَّخَذْتُم مِّن دُونِهِ أَوْلِيَاءَ لَا يَمْلِكُونَ لِأَنفُسِهِمْ نَفْعًا وَلَا ضَرًّا ۚ قُلْ هَلْ يَسْتَوِي الْأَعْمَىٰ وَالْبَصِيرُ أَمْ هَلْ تَسْتَوِي الظُّلُمَاتُ وَالنُّورُ ۗ أَمْ جَعَلُوا لِلَّهِ شُرَكَاءَ خَلَقُوا كَخَلْقِهِ فَتَشَابَهَ الْخَلْقُ عَلَيْهِمْ ۚ قُلِ اللَّهُ خَالِقُ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ وَهُوَ الْوَاحِدُ الْقَهَّار''ُ
''Allah." Say: "Do ye then take (for worship) protectors other than Him, such as have no power either for good or for harm to themselves?" Say: "Are the blind equal with those who see? Or the depths of darkness equal with light?" Or do they assign to Allah partners who have created (anything) as He has created, so that the creation seemed to them similar? Say: "Allah is the Creator of all things: He is the One, the Supreme and Irresistible''.
''وَلِلَّهِ الْأَسْمَاءُ الْحُسْنَىٰ فَادْعُوهُ بِهَا ۖ وَذَرُوا الَّذِينَ يُلْحِدُونَ فِي أَسْمَائِهِ ۚ سَيُجْزَوْنَ مَا كَانُوا يَعْمَلُونَ''
''The most beautiful names belong to Allah: so call on him by them; but shun such men as use profanity in his names: for what they do, they will soon be requited''.
2. Anthropology
Angels are caliph and representative of God and have two faces of earth and sky;''وَإِذْ قَالَ رَبُّكَ لِلْمَلَائِكَةِ إِنِّي خَالِقٌ بَشَرًا مِّن صَلْصَالٍ مِّنْ حَمَإٍ مَّسْنُونٍ''
''Behold! thy Lord said to the angels: "I am about to create man, from sounding clay from mud moulded into shape''.
''فَإِذَا سَوَّيْتُهُ وَنَفَخْتُ فِيهِ مِن رُّوحِي فَقَعُوا لَهُ سَاجِدِينَ''
''When I have fashioned him (in due proportion) and breathed into him of My spirit, fall ye down in obeisance unto him''.
3. Cosmology
Verses of God are under observation of human, are complicated and have a lot of secrets;''سَنُرِيهِمْ آيَاتِنَا فِي الْآفَاقِ وَفِي أَنفُسِهِمْ حَتَّىٰ يَتَبَيَّنَ لَهُمْ أَنَّهُ الْحَقُّ ۗ أَوَلَمْ يَكْفِ بِرَبِّكَ أَنَّهُ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ شَهِيدٌ''
''Soon will We show them our Signs in the (furthest) regions (of the earth), and in their own souls, until it becomes manifest to them that this is the Truth. Is it not enough that thy Lord doth witness all things?''.
''هُوَ الَّذِي خَلَقَ لَكُم مَّا فِي الْأَرْضِ جَمِيعًا ثُمَّ اسْتَوَىٰ إِلَى السَّمَاءِ فَسَوَّاهُنَّ سَبْعَ سَمَاوَاتٍ ۚ وَهُوَ بِكُلِّ شَيْءٍ عَلِيمٌ''
''It is He Who hath created for you all things that are on earth; Moreover His design comprehended the heavens, for He gave order and perfection to the seven firmaments; and of all things He hath perfect knowledge''.
''إِنَّ فِي خَلْقِ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ وَاخْتِلَافِ اللَّيْلِ وَالنَّهَارِ وَالْفُلْكِ الَّتِي تَجْرِي فِي الْبَحْرِ بِمَا يَنفَعُ النَّاسَ وَمَا أَنزَلَ اللَّهُ مِنَ السَّمَاءِ مِن مَّاءٍ فَأَحْيَا بِهِ الْأَرْضَ بَعْدَ مَوْتِهَا وَبَثَّ فِيهَا مِن كُلِّ دَابَّةٍ وَتَصْرِيفِ الرِّيَاحِ وَالسَّحَابِ الْمُسَخَّرِ بَيْنَ السَّمَاءِ وَالْأَرْضِ لَآيَاتٍ لِّقَوْمٍ يَعْقِلُونَ''
''Behold! in the creation of the heavens and the earth; in the alternation of the night and the day; in the sailing of the ships through the ocean for the profit of mankind; in the rain which Allah Sends down from the skies, and the life which He gives therewith to an earth that is dead; in the beasts of all kinds that He scatters through the earth; in the change of the winds, and the clouds which they Trail like their slaves between the sky and the earth;- (Here) indeed are Signs for a people that are wise''.
4. Way and recognition of guidelines
Only a way leads human to their purposes and this path is known as ''direct way'' and there are kind persons that guide human to this path and support human;''كَانَ النَّاسُ أُمَّةً وَاحِدَةً فَبَعَثَ اللَّهُ النَّبِيِّينَ مُبَشِّرِينَ وَمُنذِرِينَ وَأَنزَلَ مَعَهُمُ الْكِتَابَ بِالْحَقِّ لِيَحْكُمَ بَيْنَ النَّاسِ فِيمَا اخْتَلَفُوا فِيهِ ۚ وَمَا اخْتَلَفَ فِيهِ إِلَّا الَّذِينَ أُوتُوهُ مِن بَعْدِ مَا جَاءَتْهُمُ الْبَيِّنَاتُ بَغْيًا بَيْنَهُمْ ۖ فَهَدَى اللَّهُ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا لِمَا اخْتَلَفُوا فِيهِ مِنَ الْحَقِّ بِإِذْنِهِ ۗ وَاللَّهُ يَهْدِي مَن يَشَاءُ إِلَىٰ صِرَاطٍ مُّسْتَقِيمٍ''
''Mankind was one single nation, and Allah sent Messengers with glad tidings and warnings; and with them He sent the Book in truth, to judge between people in matters wherein they differed; but the People of the Book, after the clear Signs came to them, did not differ among themselves, except through selfish contumacy. Allah by His Grace Guided the believers to the Truth, concerning that wherein they differed. For Allah guided whom He will to a path that is straight''.
''وَأَنَّ هَٰذَا صِرَاطِي مُسْتَقِيمًا فَاتَّبِعُوهُ ۖ وَلَا تَتَّبِعُوا السُّبُلَ فَتَفَرَّقَ بِكُمْ عَن سَبِيلِهِ ۚ ذَٰلِكُمْ وَصَّاكُم بِهِ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَتَّقُونَ''
''Verily, this is My way, leading straight: follow it: follow not (other) paths: they will scatter you about from His (great) path: thus doth He command you. that ye may be righteous''.
''قَالَ فَبِمَا أَغْوَيْتَنِي لَأَقْعُدَنَّ لَهُمْ صِرَاطَكَ الْمُسْتَقِيمَ''
''He said: "Because thou hast thrown me out of the way, lo! I will lie in wait for them on thy straight way''.
''وَنَادَىٰ أَصْحَابُ الْأَعْرَافِ رِجَالًا يَعْرِفُونَهُم بِسِيمَاهُمْ قَالُوا مَا أَغْنَىٰ عَنكُمْ جَمْعُكُمْ وَمَا كُنتُمْ تَسْتَكْبِرُونَ''
''The men on the heights will call to certain men whom they will know from their marks, saying: "Of what profit to you were your hoards and your arrogant ways?''
''وَمَا نُرْسِلُ الْمُرْسَلِينَ إِلَّا مُبَشِّرِينَ وَمُنذِرِينَ ۚ وَيُجَادِلُ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا بِالْبَاطِلِ لِيُدْحِضُوا بِهِ الْحَقَّ ۖ وَاتَّخَذُوا آيَاتِي وَمَا أُنذِرُوا هُزُوًا''
''We only send the messengers to give Glad Tidings and to give warnings: But the unbelievers dispute with vain argument, in order therewith to weaken the truth, and they treat My Signs as a jest, as also the fact that they are warned''.
''وَلَقَدْ بَعَثْنَا فِي كُلِّ أُمَّةٍ رَّسُولًا أَنِ اعْبُدُوا اللَّهَ وَاجْتَنِبُوا الطَّاغُوتَ ۖ فَمِنْهُم مَّنْ هَدَى اللَّهُ وَمِنْهُم مَّنْ حَقَّتْ عَلَيْهِ الضَّلَالَةُ ۚ فَسِيرُوا فِي الْأَرْضِ فَانظُرُوا كَيْفَ كَانَ عَاقِبَةُ الْمُكَذِّبِينَ''
''For We assuredly sent amongst every People a messenger, (with the Command), "Serve Allah, and eschew Evil": of the People were some whom Allah guided, and some on whom error became inevitably (established). So travel through the earth, and see what was the end of those who denied (the Truth)''.
''إِنَّا أَرْسَلْنَاكَ بِالْحَقِّ بَشِيرًا وَنَذِيرًا ۚ وَإِن مِّنْ أُمَّةٍ إِلَّا خَلَا فِيهَا نَذِيرٌ''
''Verily We have sent thee in truth, as a bearer of glad tidings, and as a warner: and there never was a people, without a warner having lived among them (in the past)''.
''وَإِذَا جَاءَتْهُمْ آيَةٌ قَالُوا لَن نُّؤْمِنَ حَتَّىٰ نُؤْتَىٰ مِثْلَ مَا أُوتِيَ رُسُلُ اللَّهِ ۘ اللَّهُ أَعْلَمُ حَيْثُ يَجْعَلُ رِسَالَتَهُ ۗ سَيُصِيبُ الَّذِينَ أَجْرَمُوا صَغَارٌ عِندَ اللَّهِ وَعَذَابٌ شَدِيدٌ بِمَا كَانُوا يَمْكُرُونَ''
''When there comes to them a sign (from Allah), They say: "We shall not believe until we receive one (exactly) like those received by Allah´s messengers." Allah knoweth best where (and how) to carry out His mission. Soon will the wicked be overtaken by humiliation before Allah, and a severe punishment, for all their plots?''.
5. Rules and recognition of plan
These rules include a series of thoughts, morals, behavior, prohibitions, obligations, foundations, tendencies and manners that lead to health and happiness;''وَأَنزَلْنَا إِلَيْكَ الْكِتَابَ بِالْحَقِّ مُصَدِّقًا لِّمَا بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ مِنَ الْكِتَابِ وَمُهَيْمِنًا عَلَيْهِ ۖ فَاحْكُم بَيْنَهُم بِمَا أَنزَلَ اللَّهُ ۖ وَلَا تَتَّبِعْ أَهْوَاءَهُمْ عَمَّا جَاءَكَ مِنَ الْحَقِّ ۚ لِكُلٍّ جَعَلْنَا مِنكُمْ شِرْعَةً وَمِنْهَاجًا ۚ وَلَوْ شَاءَ اللَّهُ لَجَعَلَكُمْ أُمَّةً وَاحِدَةً وَلَٰكِن لِّيَبْلُوَكُمْ فِي مَا آتَاكُمْ ۖ فَاسْتَبِقُوا الْخَيْرَاتِ ۚ إِلَى اللَّهِ مَرْجِعُكُمْ جَمِيعًا فَيُنَبِّئُكُم بِمَا كُنتُمْ فِيهِ تَخْتَلِفُونَ''
''To thee We sent the Scripture in truth, confirming the scripture that came before it, and guarding it in safety: so judge between them by what Allah hath revealed, and follow not their vain desires, diverging from the Truth that hath come to thee. To each among you have we prescribed a law and an open way. If Allah had so willed, He would have made you a single people, but (His plan is) to test you in what He hath given you: so strive as in a race in all virtues. The goal of you all is to Allah; it is He that will show you the truth of the matters in which ye dispute''.
''أُولَٰئِكَ الَّذِينَ هَدَى اللَّهُ ۖ فَبِهُدَاهُمُ اقْتَدِهْ ۗ قُل لَّا أَسْأَلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ أَجْرًا ۖ إِنْ هُوَ إِلَّا ذِكْرَىٰ لِلْعَالَمِينَ''
''Those were the (prophets) who received Allah´s guidance: Copy the guidance they received; Say: "No reward for this do I ask of you: This is no less than a message for the nations''.
''هُوَ الَّذِي أَرْسَلَ رَسُولَهُ بِالْهُدَىٰ وَدِينِ الْحَقِّ لِيُظْهِرَهُ عَلَى الدِّينِ كُلِّهِ وَلَوْ كَرِهَ الْمُشْرِكُونَ''
''It is He Who hath sent His Messenger with guidance and the Religion of Truth, to proclaim it over all religion, even though the Pagans may detest''.
''شَرَعَ لَكُم مِّنَ الدِّينِ مَا وَصَّىٰ بِهِ نُوحًا وَالَّذِي أَوْحَيْنَا إِلَيْكَ وَمَا وَصَّيْنَا بِهِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ وَمُوسَىٰ وَعِيسَىٰ ۖ أَنْ أَقِيمُوا الدِّينَ وَلَا تَتَفَرَّقُوا فِيهِ ۚ كَبُرَ عَلَى الْمُشْرِكِينَ مَا تَدْعُوهُمْ إِلَيْهِ ۚ اللَّهُ يَجْتَبِي إِلَيْهِ مَن يَشَاءُ وَيَهْدِي إِلَيْهِ مَن يُنِيبُ''
''The same religion has He established for you as that which He enjoined on Noah - the which We have sent by inspiration to thee - and that which We enjoined on Abraham, Moses, and Jesus: Namely, that ye should remain steadfast in religion, and make no divisions therein: to those who worship other things than Allah, hard is the (way) to which thou callest them. Allah chooses to Himself those whom He pleases, and guides to Himself those who turn (to Him)''.
وَأَنْ أَقِمْ وَجْهَكَ لِلدِّينِ حَنِيفًا وَلَا تَكُونَنَّ مِنَ الْمُشْرِكِينَ
''And further (thus): ´set thy face towards religion with true piety, and never in any wise be of the Unbelievers''.
6. Recognition of destination and purpose
Creation of the world is for person and persons worship God and visit of partner in the world;''وَمَا خَلَقْتُ الْجِنَّ وَالْإِنسَ إِلَّا لِيَعْبُدُونِ''
''I have only created Jinns and men, that they may serve me''.
''وَاعْبُدْ رَبَّكَ حَتَّىٰ يَأْتِيَكَ الْيَقِينُ''
''And serve thy Lord until there come unto thee the Hour that is certain''.
''يَا أَيُّهَا الْإِنسَانُ إِنَّكَ كَادِحٌ إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ كَدْحًا فَمُلَاقِيهِ''
''O thou man! Verily thou art ever toiling on towards thy Lord- painfully toiling,- but thou shalt meet Him''.
''يَا أَيَّتُهَا النَّفْسُ الْمُطْمَئِنَّةُ''
(''To the righteous soul will be said:) "O (thou) soul, in (complete) rest and satisfaction''.
''ارْجِعِي إِلَىٰ رَبِّكِ رَاضِيَةً مَّرْضِيَّةً''
''Come back thou to thy Lord,- well pleased (thyself), and well-pleasing unto Him''.
''فَادْخُلِي فِي عِبَادِي''
''Enter thou, then, among My devotees''.
''وَادْخُلِي جَنَّتِي''
''Yea, enter thou My Heaven''.
7. Semantics
The destiny of the world will not equal for benevolent persons and bad and evil persons and everyone will see results of his or her actions and behaviors in the doomsday;''إِنَّ السَّاعَةَ آتِيَةٌ أَكَادُ أُخْفِيهَا لِتُجْزَىٰ كُلُّ نَفْسٍ بِمَا تَسْعَىٰ''
''Verily the Hour is coming - My design is to keep it hidden - for every soul to receive its reward by the measure of its Endeavour''.
''وَلِلَّهِ مُلْكُ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ ۚ وَيَوْمَ تَقُومُ السَّاعَةُ يَوْمَئِذٍ يَخْسَرُ الْمُبْطِلُونَ''
''To Allah belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth, and the Day that the Hour of Judgment is established,- that Day will the dealers in Falsehood perish''.
''وَتَرَىٰ كُلَّ أُمَّةٍ جَاثِيَةً ۚ كُلُّ أُمَّةٍ تُدْعَىٰ إِلَىٰ كِتَابِهَا الْيَوْمَ تُجْزَوْنَ مَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ''
''And thou wilt see every sect bowing the knee: Every sect will be called to its Record: "This Day shall ye be recompensed for all that ye did''.
