Hazrat Maryam (peace be upon him) was praying and worshipping for a long time, all of his focus was on God and praised him. As she was drowning in worshipping, suddenly, she became extremely anxious, looked around and saw a tall man that had stood by her. Fear covered her and guessed that a bad man had come to misuse her sexually and thought '' I am a demure woman and this man wants to defame me''. These thoughts penetrated into her mind.
As a matter of fact, the man that was an angle recognized the thoughts of Hazrat Maryam (peace be upon her) and said '' do not panic and do not grieve. I have come from God in order to grant you an immaculate son to you according to the order of God''.
Hazrat Maryam (peace be upon him) said '' who are you?''
The angle said '' I am a reliable Gabriel''.
After Hazrat Maryam (peace be upon him) heard these remarks, fear covered all over his body and could not say anything anymore. After a while, she came to consciousness, she said '' how can I have a son in spite of the fact that no one has touched me''.
Gabriel said '' it is such an order and your God has said that it is easy for me to consider him as a sign for people and mercy from God. This was a certain order''.
Gabriel came, touched the head of Hazrat Maryam (peace be upon her), said some remarks and then disappeared.
Days passed and Hazrat Maryam (peace be upon her) was afraid of facing to people and concealed the secret from people. Months passed in this way and Maryam said to herself
''And the pains of childbirth drove her to the trunk of a palm-tree: She cried (in her anguish): "Ah! would that I had died before this! would that I had been a thing forgotten and out of sight''.
She decided to go from Beit Al-Moghadas to her hometown in Nasere in order to conceal herself from people and bored her child there. Hazrat Maryam (peace be upon her) did not communicate with the people living in her hometown so that she was not criticized by other persons. She was hopeful that God accepted her prayers and no one suspected her. Hazrat Maryam (peace be upon her) could nothing against power of will of God and had to surrender against will of God.
The time of the confinement of Hazrat Maryam (peace be upon her) arrived. She felt pain and there was no one to relieve her pain and helped her.
Suddenly she heard a voice that was saying
''But (a voice) cried to her from beneath the (palm-tree): "Grieve not! for thy Lord hath provided a rivulet beneath thee''.
''And shake towards thyself the trunk of the palm-tree: It will let fall fresh ripe dates upon thee''.
''So eat and drink and cool (thine) eye. And if thou dost see any man, say, ´I have vowed a fast to (Allah) Most Gracious, and this day will I enter into not talk with any human being''.
''And the pains of childbirth drove her to the trunk of a palm-tree: She cried (in her anguish): "Ah! would that I had died before this! would that I had been a thing forgotten and out of sight''.
Some changes happened around her. Water flowed below the tree, the dry tree became green and bore dates.
When Hazrat Maryam (peace be upon her) observed these changes, she felt relaxed. She heard the voice of Gabriel that soothed and guided her so that she talked no one and said to her
''So eat and drink and cool (thine) eye. And if thou dost see any man, say, ´I have vowed a fast to (Allah) Most Gracious, and this day will I enter into not talk with any human being''.
''When he had turned away from them and from those whom they worshipped besides Allah, We bestowed on him Isaac and Jacob, and each one of them We made a prophet''.
''At length she brought the (babe) to her people, carrying him (in her arms). They said: "O Mary! truly an amazing thing hast thou brought''.
''O sister of Aaron! Thy father was not a man of evil, nor thy mother a woman unchaste''.
''Those were some of the prophets on whom Allah did bestow His Grace,- of the posterity of Adam, and of those who We carried (in the Ark) with Noah, and of the posterity of Abraham and Israel of those whom We guided and chose. Whenever the Signs of (Allah) Most Gracious were rehearsed to them, they would fall down in prostrate adoration and in tears''.
''Except those who repent and believe, and work righteousness: for these will enter the Garden and will not be wronged in the least''.
''They will not there hear any vain discourse, but only salutations of Peace: And they will have therein their sustenance, morning and evening''.
''(The angels say:) "We descend not but by command of thy Lord: to Him belongeth what is before us and what is behind us, and what is between: and thy Lord never doth forget''.
''Lord of the heavens and of the earth, and of all that is between them; so worship Him, and be constant and patient in His worship: knowest thou of any who is worthy of the same Name as He''.
''When Our Clear Signs are rehearsed to them, the Unbelievers say to those who believe, "Which of the two sides is best in point of position? Which makes the best show in council''.
''If any men go astray, (Allah) Most Gracious extends (the rope) to them, until, when they see the warning of Allah (being fulfilled) - either in punishment or in (the approach of) the Hour,- they will at length realise who is worst in position, and (who) weakest in forces''.
''So have We made the (Qur´an) easy in thine own tongue, that with it thou mayest give Glad Tidings to the righteous, and warnings to people given to contention''.
''But how many (countless) generations before them have We destroyed? Canst thou find a single one of them (now) or hear (so much as) a whisper of them?''
Her tribe could not understand that God was able and sagacious about everything. Hazrat Maryam (peace be upon her) tried to defend herself, but none listened. Hazrat Maryam (peace be upon her) had some reasons and no one could reject them. Hence, she stood against her tribe in order to defend herself. One of them asked
''But she pointed to the babe. They said: "How can we talk to one who is a child in the cradle''.
Suddenly the child started talking according to the order of God, revealed the reality for her tribe and said
''He said: "I am indeed a servant of Allah: He hath given me revelation and made me a prophet''.
''And He hath made me blessed wheresoever I be, and hath enjoined on me Prayer and Charity as long as I live''.
''(He) hath made me kind to my mother, and not overbearing or miserable''.
''So peace is on me the day I was born, the day that I die, and the day that I shall be raised up to life (again)''.
I have not heard throughout the history that none except Hazrat Isa (peace be upon her) had been able to talk to people in the cradle because God had willed that the way of her birth and time of his prophesy were different from others. When Hazrat Isa (peace be upon her) started talking, the tribe became quiet and said that this child would have a superb rank. Only some of them could not understand reality due to their animosity and deviation. In fact, they could not understand that when God willed doing a job, the job would be done. Hazrat Maryem (peace be upon her) did not pay attention to their remarks and trained her child in the village, rested on God and left her child to God. Isa grew up in a spiritual atmosphere and did not go to school like other children because God had taught him science and wisdom.
