Travel Guide to Maranjab desert
For people who are tired of the noise and the population of the big cities, a night in the desert is a trophy to feel a little peace. Apart from the peace and tranquility, by traveling to the desert, you can immediately watch the sky, away from city lights wander in it and revive the childhood memories of Chinese stars. Desert of "Maranjab" on the northeast of Kashan, is one of the quiet deserts that with its religious geomancy, has been named as one of the most beautiful deserts of Iran .
Maranjab in the region of "Ward sand" is located on the western corner of the central Iranian desert vegetation that either its plant coverage is unique or it has special attractions like the shifting sand dunes, birds and salt lake.
The paved way that the Safavids built up from Isfahan up to Mashhad ran along this desert, and fortunately still some of caravanserais of this historic road on the margins of this desert is remained undestroyed and it is possible to stay there as gust in one desert night.

how do we wander?
In recent years, due to the large number of travelers coming to this desert, the police have made some restrictions for travelers in this desert region. It is better to call Cultural Heritage Administration of Aran Bidgol before travel by phone number of (0362) 2732282 and certainly have identification card with you.

From Aran to Maranjab:

The desert of Maranjab is near the town of "Aran Bidgol" and it is about 5 km away from Kashan.

How do we get there?

From each of the cities of Tehran or Isfahan, you can get Kashan for 2 hours. In Kashan, you should find the square of martyr Montazeri Square (roundabout export) and then, from there you can find the Boulevard of worker and go straight. When you entered into the railway bridge, you have in fact entered into Aran and Bidgol. There, keep on the direct path in order to get to Imam Zadeh Halal Ibn Ali (AS). You can have a pilgrimage and keep going until you get to the Boulevard of Army or the same desert exit of Aran and Bidgol. There is also one other way; you can then after entering into the city, have a roundabout along the bypass ring gas station in order to get Army Boulevard. The army Boulevard will be finished after 5 km and on your right , you will see the military buildings. Now, in front of you, there is a dirt road on your left side, there is an asphalt road. Choose the dirt road and drive slowly until you get after 45 km of dirt road to get to the inn of Maranjab.

Where do we get?

Spectacular of the Desert:
Before we get to the inn, you will see a part of Salt Lake on your left and you enter into its secondary road, and you can walk on the strong side of the lake.
A bit before, next to a water reservoir, you will see the dunes or geomancy in your own right and you can take your shoes and your socks off and put your feet on soft desert sand. At the end of the route, the inn is on the left side of the road and shares border with another part of the salt lake. A few kilometers after the inn, there are some other Dunes that surely, with the help of local guides you can get there. In order to take a tour guide, you can ask for the man in charge of the inn for help.

The inn of Maranjab:

This inn was built in 1013 AH by Shah Abbas where a subterranean fresh water and an old pool was nearby it. May be at the night when you're a guest house, observatory and astronomy groups from the roof of the inn watching the stars.
There is a partly equipped bathroom with the inn. In order to stay in Maranjab desert is an option to stay at the inn. In this inn, there are 3 types of rooms, where each one has a capacity of 7, 15 and 20 people respectively, and you can pay 20, 30, and 50 thousand Toman hire one of them in order to stay for yourselves as well as your friends. However, if the rooms of the inn were full, you can put up a tent beside a inn and use its water and its health service including, you can stay in the old mosque of Abedin.

• The desert nights are cold; Have Warm clothes and sleeping bag with you.
* Never leave the group in the desert
• Bring water and a full meal.
* If you stay in a tent, surely zip it tightly to prevent dangerous reptiles to enter
• Do not contaminate the desert with garbage and even do not leave a small piece of trash in the desert.
* If you have a telescope, carry it with you.
* do not make Noise in the desert and respect the cultural values of local people.
