Three painful events that happened after the decease of the prophet (peace of Allah be upon him and his descendants) hurt the heart of the prophet's family (peace be upon them) for fourteen centuries. At the present, we believe that the sacred heart of the Imam Zaman as well as the heart of the Shiites has hurt.
The first event:
When the prophet (peace of Allah be upon him and his descendants) wanted The Hazarts to give him pen and paper, they said'' the prophet (peace of Allah be upon him and his descendants) is dying, his sickness has effected on him and his remarks seem to be nonsense.
After the prophet (peace of Allah be upon him and his descendants) passed away, the second caliph held a sword in his hand and said
من قال ان محمد قد مات ضربته بسيفي.
If someone says that the prophet (peace of Allah be upon him and his descendants) has died, I will cut his head by this sword.
What does it mean? What is the story? What has happened? The second caliph did not use his sword against someone during twenty three years. If you study the history, you will know this fact. I never say this as a Shiite, but a person that searched about this case for forty years. The Sunni scientists say to us has
One day, a mosquito had sat on the body of the prophet (peace of Allah be upon him and his descendants) and Excellency the second caliph made the mosquito away from the prophet (peace of Allah be upon him and his descendants) in order to defend him.
They never saw even the courage of the second caliph in killing mosquito.
He even narrated in all of the wars himself
He escaped toward the mountain when the war failed.
عن عمر، قال: تفرقنا عن رسول الله صلي الله عليه و سلم يوم أحد، فصعدت الجبل، فسمعت يهود تقول: قتل محمد
I saw a Jewish person say '' the prophet (peace of Allah be upon him and his descendants) was killed.
He said proudly that he ran away. We do not know why he used his sword after the decease of the prophet (peace of Allah be upon him and his descendants) and said those sentences. Even Ebn Abas came and said
O' Omar! What kind of condition is it? Omar said '' as Hazrat Musa (peace be upon him) achieved to the visit of God, the prophet (peace of Allah be upon him and his descendants) has achieved to the visit of God and he will come back later and if he does not eradicate the hypocrites of Arab island, he will not die. The prophet (peace of Allah be upon him and his descendants) is the last person among us will pass away. Ebn Abas said to the people '' have you ever heard this?'' they said '' no''. Ebn Abbas said '' Mr. Omar! I went to the bed of the prophet (peace of Allah be upon him and his descendants) and saw the signs of death on his face''. He said '' If someone says that the prophet (peace of Allah be upon him and his descendants) has died, I will cut his head by this sword''. Excellency Abu Bakr that was out of Medina arrived. He informed that there was conflict in the mosque. He saw some people supporting his remarks around him and some are around Ebn Abbas and others.
Abu Bakr said ''O' Omar! What has happened?'' he said '' the prophet (peace of Allah be upon him and his descendants) is not going to die''. Abu Bakr started reading this verse
وَ مَا مُحَمَّدٌ إِلَّا رَسُولٌ قَدْ خَلَتْ مِنْ قَبْلِهِ الرُّسُلُ أَفَإِنْ مَاتَ أَوْ قُتِلَ انْقَلَبْتُمْ عَلَي أَعْقَابِكُمْ وَ مَنْ يَنْقَلِبْ عَلَي عَقِبَيْهِ فَلَنْ يَضُرَّ اللَّهَ شَيْئًا وَ سَيَجْزِي اللَّهُ الشَّاكِرِينَ
Abu Bakr said '' Abu Bakr! Are you reading the verse of the Quran?'' He said '' yes''. Omar said '' I swear God that I have never heard this verse so far and I did not know that there was this verse in the Quran.
Siuti has narrated in the book ''al-Dor al-Mansur'' (volume 2/page 81) that the second caliph said
فقال عمر: هذه الآية في القران؟ و الله ما علمت أن هذه الآية أنزلت قبل اليوم.
''I swear God that I did not know that the verse was descended''.
Excellency Siuti is one of Sunni scientific founders and when he passed away, the knowledge of the prophet (peace of Allah be upon him and his descendants) was buried under dirt in the interpretation of the Sunnis. It demonstrates how valuable his knowledge was. He narrates from Omar Ben al-Khetab.
One day, Omar Ben al-Khetab was sermonizing and said '' O' people! When the Muslims failed in the Ohod war, we understood that the polytheists had invaded and they were killing the Muslims and their leader was Khaled Ben Valid. I escaped toward the mountain and I heard that a Jewish person said '' the prophet (peace of Allah be upon him and his descendants) had been killed''. Omar says we came and found the prophet (peace of Allah be upon him and his descendants) alive and this verse was descended.
وَ مَا مُحَمَّدٌ إِلَّا رَسُولٌ قَدْ خَلَتْ مِنْ قَبْلِهِ الرُّسُلُ أَفَإِنْ مَاتَ أَوْ قُتِلَ انْقَلَبْتُمْ عَلَي أَعْقَابِكُمْ وَ مَنْ يَنْقَلِبْ عَلَي عَقِبَيْهِ فَلَنْ يَضُرَّ اللَّهَ شَيْئًا وَ سَيَجْزِي اللَّهُ الشَّاكِرِينَ
The second caliph has narrated the reason that this verse was descended. He says in the book ''al-Dor al-Mansur''
I swear God that I did not know that there was such verse in the Quran.
God willing, all of these stories will be clear in the judgment of God justice and one day, the child of Hazrat Ali (peace be upon him) will come and will make the world light and full of justice and he will interrogate all of them. This is the first painful event that happened after the decease of the prophet (peace of Allah be upon him and his descendants).
The second event:
In the afternoon of Monday (Safar 28th) people gathered around the house of the prophet (peace of Allah be upon him and his descendants) in order to help each other in the funeral ceremony of the prophet (peace of Allah be upon him and his descendants). They informed the second caliph '' O' Omar! Don't you know that some of the supporters are teasing on the caliph in Saghife Bani Saede and say
قالت الأنصار: منا أمير و منكم أمير
The second caliph sent someone to call Abu Bakr and he said'' stop doing anything and visit him as soon as possible
We do not know what happened in Saghife Bani Saede.
The second caliph was the first person that informed others in relation to the story of Saghife in 23 AH. After he came back from Medina, he gave sermons in the last moments of his life and said
قد خالفنا المهاجرين و الانصار و اجتمعوا في سقيفة بني ساعده.
O' people! After decease of the prophet (peace of Allah be upon him and his descendants), the migrants and the supporters disagreed with us.
Can you understand what happened in Saghife Bani Saede?
I announce to all of researchers that even one of members of Saghife did not say what happened in Saghife until 23 A.H... Even they were forbidden to say anything until the second caliph began saying about the discussion of Saghife.
In that day, Saghife boycotted Sad Ben Ebade that was a candidate by the supporters which the second caliph said
قتله الله.
God killed him (Sad Ben Ebade is not deserved to be a candidate).
Hobab Ben Monzar came and said according to the interpretation of Mr. Ebn Abi
قتل حباب بن منذر
''They punched the nose of Hobab Ben Monzar which made it''.
They concluded in the disagreement that all remarks of the prophet (peace of Allah be upon him and his descendants) should be rejected during twenty three years. All of the recommendations of the prophet (peace of Allah be upon him and his descendants) should be crushed under feet because we believe that the caliph of the prophet (peace of Allah be upon him and his descendants) should be Abu Bakr not Hazrat Ali (peace be upon him).
It is an interesting matter. I recommend all of dears that are interested in the Quran and the interpretation to study verse 31of Modaser Surah. The prophet (peace of Allah be upon him and his descendants) divided people around him in four groups
وَ يَزْدَادَ الَّذِينَ آَمَنُوا إِيمَانًا وَ لَا يَرْتَابَ الَّذِينَ أُوتُوا الْكِتَابَ وَ الْمُؤْمِنُونَ وَ لِيَقُولَ الَّذِينَ فِي قُلُوبِهِمْ مَرَضٌ وَ الْكَافِرُونَ . . .
Believers, unbelievers, the lovers of the holy book and people that are sick in their heart.
The interpreters were curious to know who these four groups were.
Mr. Fakhr Razi said
و الذين في قلوب المنافق مرض.
However, there were no hypocrites in Mecca When the Islamic government has power and greatness, there will definitely be the hypocrites. They were afraid of greatness and power of the Islam; therefore, they applied discord against the Islam. The Islam did not have any greatness in Mecca so that someone could apply discord against the Islam. However, they said
يعني في قلوبهم شك
Although some had believed in the prophet (peace of Allah be upon him and his descendants) apparently, they were doubtful about the prophet (peace of Allah be upon him and his descendants) from the bottom of their heart
They were persons that made hat from this felt. They bade in Hodaibie reconciliation
ما شككت في نبوت محمد كشكي في يومي هذا.
I have never been doubtful about the prophecy of Muhammad like today.
Well, who are these? The woman said to the prophet (peace of Allah be upon him and his descendants)
أنت الذي تزعم أنك رسول الله؟
?'' ''Do you imagine that you are the messenger of God
After the prophet (peace of Allah be upon him and his descendants) deceased, the third event was about invasion against the family of innocent and immaculate Imams.
Mr. Ebn Abi al-Hadid Motazeli says clearly
'' When they came out of Saghife Bein Saede, Mr. Bara Ben Azeb said'' I saw Excellency the second caliph suppressing people with some maces in his hand (in the interpretation of Sheikh Mofid (may God's mercy be upon him): mace in hand) and they caught people by force and pushed them toward the first caliph.
شاء ذلك أو أبي
Whether they wanted or no, they caught people by force and pushed them toward the first caliph.
They brought some persons from around Medina that had mace in their hand into Medina. In the first day, the Bani Aslam tribe had animosity with the supporters. The second caliph made a military contract with them and said '' if you help me in swearing allegiance with Abu Bakr, I will give whatever (money and facilities) you want. Tabari, Ebn Asir and Ebn Kasir Dameshghi Selfi have such an interpretation. When the second caliph saw the youth of Bani Aslam (persons with mace in their hand), he ordered to make them swear allegiance with Abu Bakr by any means.
جاء عمر بقبس من النار.
When the second caliph invaded the house of revelation, they used sword, lance and bow. All of the historians have written that they used explosives. Why have they used them? What made them do that? If they had come with weapons, Bani Hashem would have definitely stood against them. Zobeir was one of defenders of the leader of the faithful and they fired the house of the leader of the faithful ( peace be upon him) and burnt whatever was in the house.
فقيل له: يا أبا حفص! إن فيها فاطمة، قال: و إن
'' They said'' Mr. Omar! Hazrat Fateme Zahra (peace be upon her) is in this house'', he said '' I don’t care about it''. They said '' Hazrat Hussein (peace be upon him) and Hazrat Hasan (peace be upon him) are in the house''. He said '' I don’t care about it.
