BIOGRAPHY OF SADI

SADI was born in SHIRAZ in FARS state around 1167 C.E.
His name was MOSLEHODIN or MOSHREFODIN.
One of the characteristics of genius SADI, gives moral lesson from smallest incidents in his life. It appears that he had a pleasant yet sombrous memories. His father was a simple clerk in king yard but was in welfare.
I remember the father`s era
Covenant mercy on him every moment
Bought me note book and book
Bought gold ring for the other
SADI went to study in NEZAMIYEH. This school had great past. Many great scientists have written many books on theology, jurisprudence.

YEARS OF TRAVEL:

He traveled to central Asia, India, Syria, Egypt, Saudi Arabia and Ethiopia. But did not give slightest clue about trip arrangements. On return, poet is tired.
I travelled a lot *** spent time with anyone
I found enjoyment from every corner *** found flourishing cluster
But did not find like SHIRAZ people *** God bless them
Oh you great men of this land *** I left the memories of Syria and Rome

OLD AGE:

He reaches his home town. While his heart is beating, SHIRAZ is in front of him and visible. Time has come to retire. Time to be pride. Until this time SHEIKH has written individual poems. But in 1240, he wrote a masterpiece. A moral poetry book by name GOLESTAN. Next year, another excellent book, BOUSTAN. By these two, his name became eternal. His poems gave the Persian poetry a new flavor.
His date of death is uncertain. Either he died in 1274 or 1275.
SHEIKH SADI died amid the popularity. He did not expect anything from life. Avoided seeking excesses. Persian language and literature lovers are visiting his shrine every now and then.

ETHICS OF SADI:

SADI is not philosopher poet like LUKRES or WINNIE. He is a moral teacher, teaches customs and habits. He sees mistakes and errors. And repeatedly reminds them.
If anyone listens happily *** SADI`s word is sufficient
Hear SADI`s advice carefully *** this is the way, be a man
Word is useful if you listen *** will reach to men if you go this way
Poet adds a series of psychological points. He believes that man without faith is imperfect human. Therefore he always talks about the association between man and God.

POETIC STYLE:

First he expresses a moral truth, then embodies it in a series of somewhat allegorical.
Don’t think enemy is small *** I saw a huge mountain of crushed stone
Ants, who come together *** fight with passion like war lions
Sometimes, on the contrary, the image signals are used to visualize a thought or memory. And gets a mystical thought from a simple story.
SADI, sometimes gets in the way of conflict. He knows the impact of short sentences. In the story of father and son, he explains benefits and dangers of the journey.
Ideas and images are so mixed in such a way that reader wonders, and asks himself, is it possible that thought without image reached to poet`s brain?
In SADI`s works, we can see many parts in which image and thought blend and even so interwoven with the idea that the image is converted to the idea.

1) BOUSTAN: a verse book in ethics.
2) GOLESTAN: the prose book
3) POETRY COLLECTION: includes poems, odes, quatrains and ETC.
4) PROSE TREATISES: NASIHATOL MOLOUK, essay on brain and love, answers, Upbringing of a king, five types of associations.
5) SATIRES.

SADI`s name and reputation gone beyond the borders of Iran and passed the territories. Hence, in addition to his poetry and prose translated in to other languages, researches have been done on his thoughts and writings by scholars from different countries.
