Tale Zang waterfall: Tale Zang is located between the two provinces of Khuzestan and Lorestan which is among the most charming waterfalls in the country and sometimes it’s labeled as the hidden heaven in Iran or Iran’s Niagara.
Located in the beginning of the province of Khuzestan , it enjoys a warm climate and that’s why you’ll have to visit in a limited time. the timeline starts from Esfand15 to late Farvardin. But the best would be from Esfand 15 to Farvardin 15. After that the heat will bother you.
The way to access it:
The only way to reach the place is through the train. No cars road whatsoever. Those who made plans to pay a visit should note that they can only take the regualr train leading from Tehran to Andimeshk. No express train will ever stop in Tale Zang station. We departed from Dorud and after boarding the train and passing through the stations of Gharun, Cheshme Bishe, Chamsangar, Sepid Dasht , Tange Haft, and Tange Panj.
The necessary equipment for the trip
Tourists should bring along things necessary for mountain climbing and plan based on the days they want to stay there. But here are some nice suggestions:
1. Usually in springtime it always rains heavily.
Mountain climbers and nature lovers should take plastic sheets for covering their tents and stopping the wet inside.
Bring along a primus stove.
3. Bring along comfortable shoes which won’t slide on the rocks while stepping through rocks
4. Find a suitable place to pitch your tent where it’s safe from the wet.
5. To avoid sunburns use caps and sunblock. I had my face burned!
6. Take first aid kit.
7. Don’t leave your possessions unattended.
8. To visit the waterfall you’d better take turns ; some can go and visit while the rest are in the tents to keep the contents.
Regular trains reach the station of Tale Zang exactly at 1.30 AM. Mountain climbers should spend the night in a mosque beside the railway station and pack again the next morning to avoid heat stroke at about 6 to continue to the waterfall to walk a part of the route before the sunset.
It will take about 4 to 5.5 hours depending on the number of team members. Once you collect your stuff and fill your thermos with water you should follow on the right hand side of the station towards the bridge. Nearby the tunnel there is a walkway which will take you to the bridge. Cross it and watch out for trains.
Follow towards left on the walkway to get to the opposite stone walls. Nearby go up towards the top of the hill and then go down on the other side towards the valley and river. Beside the river you’ll come upon a palm tree. You should keep walking through the rocks and across the river.
On your right you’ll come across a lush green village. It’s called Shoy. Follow towards it and nearby take the walking path which leads to a current , at the end of which you should pass by a rock to enter a valley . After about 50m turn right on the first door and move on to go through the wired paths. Follow the clear route and after about 3 hours you’ll reach the top of the river where the waterfall is also visible. Near the local river there is a place for a stop and rest. You should keep in mind that nearby the waterfall it is usually humid and this might bother you. Keep a distance from the river to avoid the disturbing noise of water.
