SHAHRIYAR, the poem city

AKHAVAN in preface of his book: innovations and grants of NIMA YOUSHIJ with his sweet prose has stated a memory from SHAHRIYAR regarding NIMA and then takes the words to the devotion and love which he had with SHAHRIYAR. Strong prose of AKHAVAN in indicating this devotion and kindness, has been expressed so soft and we can understand that when he was talking about SHAHRIYAR as dear one, he was weeping. There was a question in my mind always, about AKHAVAN as one of the most outstanding figures of the modern poetry, why he was dependent and attached to SHAHRIYAR as a representative of traditional literature and poetry. Stranger than that, an emotional relationship between SHAHRIYAR and NIMA which lasted to the end of their lives. An emotional relationship between two humans of different thoughts who were having common pains, as one of them is crying:
NIMA, say about your sadness, so we can cry in loneliness,
Let us put our head together, and cry like two mads.
After the release of “myth” many poets who were at the time of NIMA, tried to say poems, just like NIMA. first of them was, MIRZADE ESHGHI, who printed the myth story in his newspaper (twentieth century), and then on the basis of MYTH, made a beautiful lasting poem by the name of 3 PICTURES OF MARY, and after him many young fellows who wanted a new approach in poetry, followed NIMA`s way, such as KHANLARI and TAVALOLI. now at this position, only SHAHRIYAR continued his emotional relationship with NIMA. After the poem of MYTH, the great poet NIMA, started to write many poems such as THERE IS A CALL FROM REY CITY, TONIGHT, MY HOUSE IS CLOUDLY, MOONLIGHT IS SHINING and REMAINED FROM FAR NIGHTS. By these poem, NIMA got more experiences and kept a distance with MYTH story. And in the same way, the distance between NIMA and his followers increased a lot. At this position, only SHAHRIYAR accompanied NIMA, who became old, alone, sad, cynical and arrogant. SHAHRIYAR was crying with NIMA to support him.
What secret was in SHAHRIYAR to attract many? Why many people such as the father of new Persian poetry, were in devotion with SHAHRIYAR? Many of avant-garde poets are considering the poems of SHAHRIYAR as nothing. They claim that SHAHRIYAR and his colleagues were still in traditional thoughts. These opponents did not like to follow the tradition in modernism and postmodernism. They are thinking that, SHAHRIYAR and many poets like him are excluded from scope of modern Persian poetry. Persons like HAMIDI SHIRAZI with his poem by name “I heard from my tear, when a beautiful and strong dies” is against the traditional way of SHAHRIYAR. “The other nights” by EMAD, states the same thing. Now the point is how much this intellectual indifference had effected the audience. Could this kind of modernism, boycott SHAHRIAR and his companions?
The fact is nobody could gain fame as SHHRIAR did. Our great poet has crossed the borders and achieved the reputation, outside the country. There is no doubt, the poem of ‘HEYDAR BABAIYEH, SALAM”, is symbol of sincerity, which has spread out among Turkic-speaking countries. Indeed, SHAHRIYAR, has more audiences than other writers and poets. Nobody can forget the poem of “Ali the messenger of mercy”. This poem has communicated with many Persian speaking persons, around the world. Many poems of SHAHRIAR, became example among different level of people:
You can`t know me, until I am alive,
One day you will come to me, when I am not alive,
My youth time is complaining about the life,
I am ashamed about life in youth time,
I spent the youth time to find the life,
I could not find the life and lost the youth,
Dear you came but why now?
Oh you unfaithful, why you came when I have fallen down,
Oh Ali, all brave men are respecting you,
The World be sacrificed for you.
SHAHRIYAR has given many chances to new poem lovers and tried to communicate more with literature lovers. So we can`t forget his efforts towards the growth of Persian literature.
Those who have seen SHAHRIYAR, closely, loved his sincere character. You can find this sincerity in his poems, compositions and especially in his GAZALS.
We have to do many researches and try to find out why persons like SHAHRIYAR, became international hero.
