The historic castle of Jushin or Jushun is located 26 km west of Varzaghan towards Jolfa, and 6 km from the village of Jushin. The mountainous route towards the castle is quite tough.
The castle rises on top of a mountain with steep resembling walls surrounding on 3 sides. The only access is through a narrow, mountainous path which allows only one or two persons at a time; they will have to struggle to reach it.
Therefore, it was feasible to guard and defend it even with only a few people.
It was a center for protecting the country when the Arab attacked.
The pottery discovered in the castle dates from the first pre-Islamic millennium and the early Islamic centuries up to the 6th century AH.
