Asiyab Kharabeh is considered one of the most beautiful and spectacular landscapes in East Azerbaijan which is located about 27 km from Hadi Shahr on the border strip between Iran and the Azerbaijan Republic, 5 km from the village of Manjan Abad on the edge of Aras River.
In Asiyab Kharabeh there are a couple of small and large waterfalls which flow down from top of the mill. The water of these waterfalls is supplied through several springs on top of the mill which originate in Kiyamaki Mountain.
One of the awesome spots in East Azerbaijan, it is known as Asiyab Kharabeh, literally a ruined mill, since there lie the ruins of a water mill.
To reach the extremely delightful site you should take Marand-Jolfa road to Hadi Shahr- Alamdar,Gargar- and after a dirt road on the border strip of Iran and the Azerbaijan Republic and going through a subsidiary road, you will reach a pleasant valley where Asiyab Kharabeh exists.
It is 106 km from Tabriz to the subsidiary road of Jolfa. From Alamdar to Asiyab Kharabeh there is a 27-km dirt road. On the right direction, at the bottom of the valley abundant waterfalls are formed. The surface of the walls is entirely filled with moss and aquatic plants.
Hundreds of various waterfalls and the harmonious sounds of water-flow, the spectacular scenery and cold weather are all among the delightful attractions of the place.
The major waterfall measures about 10 m and the surrounding area extends 200 square m.
The beautiful and crystal clear water of the spring comes from the Kiyamaki Mountain, one of the high mountains in the region of west Dizmar Arasbaran and the town of Marand and Zonooz district. On the source of the spring grow numerous fig trees. The water of the striking fall, which is perhaps unique across the country, runs in a constant stream towards the valley.
The whole body of walls is covered in moss and aquatic plants, creating a charming landscape.
