Pahleh is a city in Ilam Province. It is the center of Zarrin Abad District, Dehloran city.
Pahleh is located 104 km southeast of the city of Ilam. Around the city lie a couple of beautiful small villages. For example, the villages of Galuzeh, Mamadi (Ahmad Abad), Kahle Kahle on the north of the city, less than half a kilometer.
In late 1340s, solar calendar, in the clash between the gendarmes and locals of the city, all the officials were killed in their post of duty. The year it happened, is a turning point in the events of the city.
Although the city is composed of different tribes in the surround villages, the residents live in peace and solidarity next to each other and over the last two decades there has been no report of any conflict among them.
Unfortunately, in the time of the Pahlavi, people of the land suffered from discrimination and multiple times the current number of residents migrated to the cities of Iraq like Baghdad, Ali Sharghi and Ali Gharbi, and Diyala Province.
Furthermore, thousands of the residents of the city and suburban areas emigrated to the center of the city, Dehloran.
Also, a lot of Kurds of the region have been living in Abdanan over tens of years. In addition, some of the locals live in the center of the province who comprise a prime minority known as Kurdeli. They mainly reside in the township of Sartaf.
Except from this all, thousands of the residents of the region have migrated to important cities in Khuzestan Province such as Dezfool, Andimeshk, Ahvaz, Khorramshahr, and Abadan over the last couple of decades.
Many locals did it with a hope to find a better life and went over to the cities like Tehran and Kermanshah and a minority migrated to Arak and Karaj. The entire number of the migrators over last 80 years is estimated to be between 57,000 to 100,000.
Currently, according to the mayor of the city, Pahleh extended in an area of over 114 hectares in Bahman 1390, solar calendar. Mellat Forest Park, at an area of 6 hectares, lies on the north of the city on the slopes of beautiful hills. A part of the park has lately become a recreational resort for people. Also Beesat Park, one of the lovely parks of the city, was built in 1372, solar calendar.
Another highlight, Shahid Hussein Fahmideh Park, was opened up in 1374, solar calendar.
Its maximum temperature is 40 degrees Celsius and its minimum is _5 degrees Celsius.
The residents of the city speak in Kurdish, Pahlei dialect. In the times of Iran-Iraq imposed war the city welcomed thousands of displaced and homeless migrators from Dehloran who made their departments in Pahleh.
Beautiful city of Meymehh is less than 27 km from the city. In 1386, solar calendar, Pahleh suffered from water shortage for some time as a result of a decrease in spring's level and so tankers distributed water across the city. But in the same year, after the development of water pipeline plan the issue was resolved.
History
Apparently, its name is paronymouse with Pahlow and Part, which explains what it means.
The current city of Pahleh was part of the land of Pahleh (Jebal, Zagros Mountain) in the past and perhaps the name has remained from then.
During the imposed war between Iran and Iraq the city was hardly destroyed and after the Islamic revolution its name changed into Zarrin Abad and then again it turned into Pahleh after its restoration.
