Vanak, a city in the central district of Samirom in Isfahan Province, has warm and friendly and hardworking people who have accomplished dramatic achievements during the hundreds of years history of the city. One of their prominent qualities is their dependence on their hometown.
Vanak is located 190 km from Isfahan, 33 km from Samirom. There is evidence that the settlers of the city emigrated to Tehran and the name of Vanak in Tehran is taken from that.
The city enjoys mild mountainous climate. Among its spectacular highlights are the shrine of Imamzadeh Zeid Bin Ali 17 km on Vanak to Samirom Road, shrine of Imamzadeh Maesumeh Khatun 2 km west of the city, Naz Vanak Spring and Shams Abad, Kamaneh Dam, as well as agricultural highlights such as Aghdak, Sar Tang, Chameh, Nokhodan, Hana Ali Shah, Jasur, Mandak and Sahran and the suburb of the city.
Since the city contains abundant Vans (ash trees) it was called Van Zar (a place where Van trees grow) but eventually, it changed into Vanak.
Regarding its geographical location and the fact that Vanak and its farmlands lie on the slope of Zagros Mountain range, it's diverse and mild. The farms on the higher places are colder and those at the bottom of the valleys are warmer.
Vanak and the farms in Shams Abad, Tangdeh, Hanadar, and Keshtangan are hotter and the ones in Nokhodan, Kamaneh, Chameh, Esfarahan and Jasur are cooler.
In parts of Dalan Kuh and Kuh Bala, snow from the previous year is often seen especially when it is not dry.
