The word '' wisdom'' in Quran

The word '' wisdom'' has many different and contrast meanings in Quran.
أَفَتَطْمَعُونَ أَن یُؤْمِنُوا لَكُمْ وَقَدْ كَانَ فَرِیقٌ مِّنْهُمْ یَسْمَعُونَ كَلَامَ اللَّهِ ثُمَّ یُحَرِّفُونَهُ مِن بَعْدِ مَا عَقَلُوهُ وَهُمْ یَعْلَمُونَ
Can ye (o ye men of Faith) entertain the hope that they will believe in you Seeing that a party of them heard the Word of Allah, and perverted it knowingly after they understood it.
وَفِی الْأَرْضِ قِطَعٌ مُّتَجَاوِرَاتٌ وَجَنَّاتٌ مِّنْ أَعْنَابٍ وَزَرْعٌ وَنَخِیلٌ صِنْوَانٌ وَغَیْرُ صِنْوَانٍ یُسْقَىٰ بِمَاءٍ وَاحِدٍ وَنُفَضِّلُ بَعْضَهَا عَلَىٰ بَعْضٍ فِی الْأُكُلِ ۚ إِنَّ فِی ذَٰلِكَ لَآیَاتٍ لِّقَوْمٍ یَعْقِلُونَ
And in the earth are tracts (diverse though) neighbouring, and gardens of vines and fields sown with corn, and palm trees - growing out of single roots or otherwise: watered with the same water, yet some of them We make more excellent than others to eat. Behold, verily in these things there are signs for those who understand.
وَمَا أَرْسَلْنَا مِن قَبْلِكَ إِلَّا رِجَالًا نُّوحِی إِلَیْهِم مِّنْ أَهْلِ الْقُرَىٰ ۗ أَفَلَمْ یَسِیرُوا فِی الْأَرْضِ فَیَنظُرُوا كَیْفَ كَانَ عَاقِبَةُ الَّذِینَ مِن قَبْلِهِمْ ۗ وَلَدَارُ الْآخِرَةِ خَیْرٌ لِّلَّذِینَ اتَّقَوْا ۗ أَفَلَا تَعْقِلُونَ
Nor did We send before thee (as messengers) any but men, whom we did inspire,- (men) living in human habitations. Do they not travel through the earth, and see what was the end of those before them? But the home of the hereafter is best, for those who do right. Will ye not then understand?
وَقَالُوا لَوْ كُنَّا نَسْمَعُ أَوْ نَعْقِلُ مَا كُنَّا فِی أَصْحَابِ السَّعِیرِ
They will further say: "Had we but listened or used our intelligence, we should not (now) be among the Companions of the Blazing Fire''.
وَتِلْكَ الْأَمْثَالُ نَضْرِبُهَا لِلنَّاسِ ۖ وَمَا یَعْقِلُهَا إِلَّا الْعَالِمُونَ
And such are the Parables We set forth for mankind, but only those understand them who have knowledge.

The word '' wisdom'' has been mentioned under the word '' heart'' in the following verses
إِنَّ فِی ذَٰلِكَ لَذِكْرَىٰ لِمَن كَانَ لَهُ قَلْبٌ أَوْ أَلْقَى السَّمْعَ وَهُوَ شَهِیدٌ
Verily in this is a Message for any that has a heart and understanding or who gives ear and earnestly witnesses (the truth).
أَفَلَمْ یَسِیرُوا فِی الْأَرْضِ فَتَكُونَ لَهُمْ قُلُوبٌ یَعْقِلُونَ بِهَا أَوْ آذَانٌ یَسْمَعُونَ بِهَا ۖ فَإِنَّهَا لَا تَعْمَى الْأَبْصَارُ وَلَٰكِن تَعْمَى الْقُلُوبُ الَّتِی فِی الصُّدُورِ
Do they not travel through the land, so that their hearts (and minds) may thus learn wisdom and their ears may thus learn to hear? Truly it is not their eyes that are blind, but their hearts which are in their breasts.
وَلَقَدْ ذَرَأْنَا لِجَهَنَّمَ كَثِیرًا مِّنَ الْجِنِّ وَالْإِنسِ ۖ لَهُمْ قُلُوبٌ لَّا یَفْقَهُونَ بِهَا وَلَهُمْ أَعْیُنٌ لَّا یُبْصِرُونَ بِهَا وَلَهُمْ آذَانٌ لَّا یَسْمَعُونَ بِهَا ۚ أُولَٰئِكَ كَالْأَنْعَامِ بَلْ هُمْ أَضَلُّ ۚ أُولَٰئِكَ هُمُ الْغَافِلُونَ
Many are the Jinns and men we have made for Hell: They have hearts wherewith they understand not, eyes wherewith they see not, and ears wherewith they hear not. They are like cattle,- nay more misguided: for they are heedless (of warning).

وَمِنْهُم مَّن یَسْتَمِعُ إِلَیْكَ ۖ وَجَعَلْنَا عَلَىٰ قُلُوبِهِمْ أَكِنَّةً أَن یَفْقَهُوهُ وَفِی آذَانِهِمْ وَقْرًا ۚ وَإِن یَرَوْا كُلَّ آیَةٍ لَّا یُؤْمِنُوا بِهَا ۚ حَتَّىٰ إِذَا جَاءُوكَ یُجَادِلُونَكَ یَقُولُ الَّذِینَ كَفَرُوا إِنْ هَٰذَا إِلَّا أَسَاطِیرُ الْأَوَّلِینَ
Of them there are some who (pretend to) listen to thee; but We have thrown veils on their hearts, So they understand it not, and deafness in their ears; if they saw every one of the signs, not they will believe in them; in so much that when they come to thee, they (but) dispute with thee; the Unbelievers say: "These are nothing but tales of the ancients''.
It can be understood from the above verses that purpose from eyes and ears is not body organs, but purpose is understanding that is one of features of wisdom.
In many verses of Quran, the word '' wisdom'' is mentioned under meanings, references, recommendations and advice.
Imam Sadeq (peace be upon him) and Imam Reza peace be upon him) have referred to the two kinds of wisdom: 1. Theoretical wisdom that is a kind of blessing from God toward human; 2. Practical wisdom that a person gains in the life.
Imam Kazem (peace be upon him) states '' wisdom is accompanied with science'' and has referred to the following verse;
وَتِلْكَ الْأَمْثَالُ نَضْرِبُهَا لِلنَّاسِ ۖ وَمَا یَعْقِلُهَا إِلَّا الْعَالِمُونَ
And such are the Parables We set forth for mankind, but only those understand them who have knowledge.
Quran states
فَإِذَا سَوَّیْتُهُ وَنَفَخْتُ فِیهِ مِن رُّوحِی فَقَعُوا لَهُ سَاجِدِینَ
When I have fashioned him (in due proportion) and breathed into him of My spirit, fall ye down in obeisance unto him.
ثُمَّ أَنتُمْ هَٰؤُلَاءِ تَقْتُلُونَ أَنفُسَكُمْ وَتُخْرِجُونَ فَرِیقًا مِّنكُم مِّن دِیَارِهِمْ تَظَاهَرُونَ عَلَیْهِم بِالْإِثْمِ وَالْعُدْوَانِ وَإِن یَأْتُوكُمْ أُسَارَىٰ تُفَادُوهُمْ وَهُوَ مُحَرَّمٌ عَلَیْكُمْ إِخْرَاجُهُمْ ۚ أَفَتُؤْمِنُونَ بِبَعْضِ الْكِتَابِ وَتَكْفُرُونَ بِبَعْضٍ ۚ فَمَا جَزَاءُ مَن یَفْعَلُ ذَٰلِكَ مِنكُمْ إِلَّا خِزْیٌ فِی الْحَیَاةِ الدُّنْیَا ۖ وَیَوْمَ الْقِیَامَةِ یُرَدُّونَ إِلَىٰ أَشَدِّ الْعَذَابِ ۗ وَمَا اللَّهُ بِغَافِلٍ عَمَّا تَعْمَلُونَ
After this it is ye, the same people, who slay among yourselves, and banish a party of you from their homes; assist (Their enemies) against them, in guilt and rancour; and if they come to you as captives, ye ransom them, though it was not lawful for you to banish them. Then is it only a part of the Book that ye believe in, and do ye reject the rest? but what is the reward for those among you who behave like this but disgrace in this life?- and on the Day of Judgment they shall be consigned to the most grievous penalty. For Allah is not unmindful of what ye do.
وَكَذَٰلِكَ جَعَلْنَاكُمْ أُمَّةً وَسَطًا لِّتَكُونُوا شُهَدَاءَ عَلَى النَّاسِ وَیَكُونَ الرَّسُولُ عَلَیْكُمْ شَهِیدًا ۗ وَمَا جَعَلْنَا الْقِبْلَةَ الَّتِی كُنتَ عَلَیْهَا إِلَّا لِنَعْلَمَ مَن یَتَّبِعُ الرَّسُولَ مِمَّن یَنقَلِبُ عَلَىٰ عَقِبَیْهِ ۚ وَإِن كَانَتْ لَكَبِیرَةً إِلَّا عَلَى الَّذِینَ هَدَى اللَّهُ ۗ وَمَا كَانَ اللَّهُ لِیُضِیعَ إِیمَانَكُمْ ۚ إِنَّ اللَّهَ بِالنَّاسِ لَرَءُوفٌ رَّحِیمٌ
Thus, have We made of you an Ummat justly balanced, that ye might be witnesses over the nations, and the Messenger a witness over yourselves; and We appointed the Qibla to which thou wast used, only to test those who followed the Messenger from those who would turn on their heels (From the Faith). Indeed it was (A change) momentous, except to those guided by Allah. And never would Allah Make your faith of no effect. For Allah is to all people Most surely full of kindness, Most Merciful.
لَّیْسَ الْبِرَّ أَن تُوَلُّوا وُجُوهَكُمْ قِبَلَ الْمَشْرِقِ وَالْمَغْرِبِ وَلَٰكِنَّ الْبِرَّ مَنْ آمَنَ بِاللَّهِ وَالْیَوْمِ الْآخِرِ وَالْمَلَائِكَةِ وَالْكِتَابِ وَالنَّبِیِّینَ وَآتَى الْمَالَ عَلَىٰ حُبِّهِ ذَوِی الْقُرْبَىٰ وَالْیَتَامَىٰ وَالْمَسَاكِینَ وَابْنَ السَّبِیلِ وَالسَّائِلِینَ وَفِی الرِّقَابِ وَأَقَامَ الصَّلَاةَ وَآتَى الزَّكَاةَ وَالْمُوفُونَ بِعَهْدِهِمْ إِذَا عَاهَدُوا ۖ وَالصَّابِرِینَ فِی الْبَأْسَاءِ وَالضَّرَّاءِ وَحِینَ الْبَأْسِ ۗ أُولَٰئِكَ الَّذِینَ صَدَقُوا ۖ وَأُولَٰئِكَ هُمُ الْمُتَّقُونَ
It is not righteousness that ye turn your faces Towards east or West; but it is righteousness- to believe in Allah and the Last Day, and the Angels, and the Book, and the Messengers; to spend of your substance, out of love for Him, for your kin, for orphans, for the needy, for the wayfarer, for those who ask, and for the ransom of slaves; to be steadfast in prayer, and practice regular charity; to fulfil the contracts which ye have made; and to be firm and patient, in pain (or suffering) and adversity, and throughout all periods of panic. Such are the people of truth, the Allah-fearing.
وَلَا تَنكِحُوا الْمُشْرِكَاتِ حَتَّىٰ یُؤْمِنَّ ۚ وَلَأَمَةٌ مُّؤْمِنَةٌ خَیْرٌ مِّن مُّشْرِكَةٍ وَلَوْ أَعْجَبَتْكُمْ ۗ وَلَا تُنكِحُوا الْمُشْرِكِینَ حَتَّىٰ یُؤْمِنُوا ۚ وَلَعَبْدٌ مُّؤْمِنٌ خَیْرٌ مِّن مُّشْرِكٍ وَلَوْ أَعْجَبَكُمْ ۗ أُولَٰئِكَ یَدْعُونَ إِلَى النَّارِ ۖ وَاللَّهُ یَدْعُو إِلَى الْجَنَّةِ وَالْمَغْفِرَةِ بِإِذْنِهِ ۖ وَیُبَیِّنُ آیَاتِهِ لِلنَّاسِ لَعَلَّهُمْ یَتَذَكَّرُونَ
Do not marry unbelieving women (idolaters), until they believe: A slave woman who believes is better than an unbelieving woman, even though she allures you. Nor marry (your girls) to unbelievers until they believe: A man slave who believes is better than an unbeliever, even though he allures you. Unbelievers do (but) beckon you to the Fire. But Allah beckons by His Grace to the Garden (of bliss) and forgiveness, and makes His Signs clear to mankind: That they may celebrate His praise.
الطَّلَاقُ مَرَّتَانِ ۖ فَإِمْسَاكٌ بِمَعْرُوفٍ أَوْ تَسْرِیحٌ بِإِحْسَانٍ ۗ وَلَا یَحِلُّ لَكُمْ أَن تَأْخُذُوا مِمَّا آتَیْتُمُوهُنَّ شَیْئًا إِلَّا أَن یَخَافَا أَلَّا یُقِیمَا حُدُودَ اللَّهِ ۖ فَإِنْ خِفْتُمْ أَلَّا یُقِیمَا حُدُودَ اللَّهِ فَلَا جُنَاحَ عَلَیْهِمَا فِیمَا افْتَدَتْ بِهِ ۗ تِلْكَ حُدُودُ اللَّهِ فَلَا تَعْتَدُوهَا ۚ وَمَن یَتَعَدَّ حُدُودَ اللَّهِ فَأُولَٰئِكَ هُمُ الظَّالِمُونَ
A divorce is only permissible twice: after that, the parties should either hold Together on equitable terms, or separate with kindness. It is not lawful for you, (Men), to take back any of your gifts (from your wives), except when both parties fear that they would be unable to keep the limits ordained by Allah. If ye (judges) do indeed fear that they would be unable to keep the limits ordained by Allah, there is no blame on either of them if she give something for her freedom. These are the limits ordained by Allah; so do not transgress them if any do transgress the limits ordained by Allah, such persons wrong (Themselves as well as others).
فَهَزَمُوهُم بِإِذْنِ اللَّهِ وَقَتَلَ دَاوُودُ جَالُوتَ وَآتَاهُ اللَّهُ الْمُلْكَ وَالْحِكْمَةَ وَعَلَّمَهُ مِمَّا یَشَاءُ ۗ وَلَوْلَا دَفْعُ اللَّهِ النَّاسَ بَعْضَهُم بِبَعْضٍ لَّفَسَدَتِ الْأَرْضُ وَلَٰكِنَّ اللَّهَ ذُو فَضْلٍ عَلَى الْعَالَمِینَ
By Allah´s will they routed them; and David slew Goliath; and Allah gave him power and wisdom and taught him whatever (else) He willed. And did not Allah Check one set of people by means of another, the earth would indeed be full of mischief: But Allah is full of bounty to all the worlds.
God has disapproved unbelievers because they have no wisdom;
مَثَلُ الَّذِینَ كَفَرُوا كَمَثَلِ الَّذِی یَنْعِقُ بِمَا لَا یَسْمَعُ إِلَّا دُعَاءً وَنِدَاءً ۚ صُمٌّ بُكْمٌ عُمْیٌ فَهُمْ لَا یَعْقِلُونَ
The parable of those who reject Faith is as if one were to shout Like a goat-herd, to things that listen to nothing but calls and cries: Deaf, dumb, and blind, they are void of wisdom.
The prophet (peace of Allah be upon him and his descendants) states'' the first thing that God created was wisdom.
The prophet also states '' origin of human is wisdom and a person that has no wisdom has no religion''. Imam Sadeq (peace be upon him) states '' the first thing that God deprives his persons is wisdom''.
