Exalted God states
وَمَكَرُوا مَكْرًا كُبَّارًا
And they have devised a tremendous Plot.
إِنَّ الَّذِینَ جَاءُوا بِالْإِفْكِ عُصْبَةٌ مِّنكُمْ ۚ لَا تَحْسَبُوهُ شَرًّا لَّكُم ۖ بَلْ هُوَ خَیْرٌ لَّكُمْ ۚ لِكُلِّ امْرِئٍ مِّنْهُم مَّا اكْتَسَبَ مِنَ الْإِثْمِ ۚ وَالَّذِی تَوَلَّىٰ كِبْرَهُ مِنْهُمْ لَهُ عَذَابٌ عَظِیمٌ
Those who brought forward the lie are a body among yourselves: think it not to be an evil to you; On the contrary it is good for you: to every man among them (will come the punishment) of the sin that he earned, and to him who took on himself the lead among them, will be a penalty grievous.
The uses of the word''kabir'' in Quran
1. Divine good nouns
Quran states'
عَالِمُ الْغَیْبِ وَالشَّهَادَةِ الْكَبِیرُ الْمُتَعَالِ
He knoweth the unseen and that which is open: He is the Great, the Most High.
ذَٰلِكَ بِأَنَّ اللَّهَ هُوَ الْحَقُّ وَأَنَّ مَا یَدْعُونَ مِن دُونِهِ هُوَ الْبَاطِلُ وَأَنَّ اللَّهَ هُوَ الْعَلِیُّ الْكَبِیرُ
That is because Allah - He is the Reality; and those besides Him whom they invoke,- they are but vain Falsehood: verily Allah is He, Most High, Most Great.
ذَٰلِكَ بِأَنَّ اللَّهَ هُوَ الْحَقُّ وَأَنَّ مَا یَدْعُونَ مِن دُونِهِ الْبَاطِلُ وَأَنَّ اللَّهَ هُوَ الْعَلِیُّ الْكَبِیرُ
That is because Allah is the (only) Reality, and because whatever else they invoke besides Him is Falsehood; and because Allah,- He is the Most High, Most Great.
وَلَا تَنفَعُ الشَّفَاعَةُ عِندَهُ إِلَّا لِمَنْ أَذِنَ لَهُ ۚ حَتَّىٰ إِذَا فُزِّعَ عَن قُلُوبِهِمْ قَالُوا مَاذَا قَالَ رَبُّكُمْ ۖ قَالُوا الْحَقَّ ۖ وَهُوَ الْعَلِیُّ الْكَبِیرُ
No intercession can avail in His Presence, except for those for whom He has granted permission. So far (is this the case) that, when terror is removed from their hearts (at the Day of Judgment, then) will they say, ´what is it that your Lord commanded?´ they will say, ´That which is true and just; and He is the Most High Most Great.
2. Greatness against smallness
Quran states
وَلَمَّا وَرَدَ مَاءَ مَدْیَنَ وَجَدَ عَلَیْهِ أُمَّةً مِّنَ النَّاسِ یَسْقُونَ وَوَجَدَ مِن دُونِهِمُ امْرَأَتَیْنِ تَذُودَانِ ۖ قَالَ مَا خَطْبُكُمَا ۖ قَالَتَا لَا نَسْقِی حَتَّىٰ یُصْدِرَ الرِّعَاءُ ۖ وَأَبُونَا شَیْخٌ كَبِیرٌ
And when he arrived at the watering (place) in Madyan, he found there a group of men watering (their flocks), and besides them he found two women who were keeping back (their flocks). He said: "What is the matter with you?" They said: "We cannot water (our flocks) until the shepherds take back (their flocks): And our father is a very old man.
قَالُوا یَا أَیُّهَا الْعَزِیزُ إِنَّ لَهُ أَبًا شَیْخًا كَبِیرًا فَخُذْ أَحَدَنَا مَكَانَهُ ۖ إِنَّا نَرَاكَ مِنَ الْمُحْسِنِینَ
They said: "O exalted one! Behold! he has a father, aged and venerable, (who will grieve for him); so take one of us in his place; for we see that thou art (gracious) in doing good.
فَلَمَّا اسْتَیْأَسُوا مِنْهُ خَلَصُوا نَجِیًّا ۖ قَالَ كَبِیرُهُمْ أَلَمْ تَعْلَمُوا أَنَّ أَبَاكُمْ قَدْ أَخَذَ عَلَیْكُم مَّوْثِقًا مِّنَ اللَّهِ وَمِن قَبْلُ مَا فَرَّطتُمْ فِی یُوسُفَ ۖ فَلَنْ أَبْرَحَ الْأَرْضَ حَتَّىٰ یَأْذَنَ لِی أَبِی أَوْ یَحْكُمَ اللَّهُ لِی ۖ وَهُوَ خَیْرُ الْحَاكِمِینَ
Now when they saw no hope of his (yielding), they held a conference in private. The leader among them said: "Know ye not that your father did take an oath from you in Allah´s name, and how, before this, ye did fail in your duty with Joseph? Therefore will I not leave this land until my father permits me, or Allah commands me; and He is the best to command.
قالَ رَبِّ أَنَّىٰ یَكُونُ لِی غُلَامٌ وَقَدْ بَلَغَنِیَ الْكِبَرُ وَامْرَأَتِی عَاقِرٌ ۖ قَالَ كَذَٰلِكَ اللَّهُ یَفْعَلُ مَا یَشَاءُ
He said: "O my Lord! How shall I have son, seeing I am very old, and my wife is barren?" "Thus," was the answer, "Doth Allah accomplish what He willeth.
وَقَضَىٰ رَبُّكَ أَلَّا تَعْبُدُوا إِلَّا إِیَّاهُ وَبِالْوَالِدَیْنِ إِحْسَانًا ۚ إِمَّا یَبْلُغَنَّ عِندَكَ الْكِبَرَ أَحَدُهُمَا أَوْ كِلَاهُمَا فَلَا تَقُل لَّهُمَا أُفٍّ وَلَا تَنْهَرْهُمَا وَقُل لَّهُمَا قَوْلًا كَرِیمًا
Thy Lord hath decreed that ye worship none but Him, and that ye be kind to parents. Whether one or both of them attain old age in thy life, say not to them a word of contempt, nor repel them, but address them in terms of honour.
قَالَ آمَنتُمْ لَهُ قَبْلَ أَنْ آذَنَ لَكُمْ ۖ إِنَّهُ لَكَبِیرُكُمُ الَّذِی عَلَّمَكُمُ السِّحْرَ فَلَسَوْفَ تَعْلَمُونَ ۚ لَأُقَطِّعَنَّ أَیْدِیَكُمْ وَأَرْجُلَكُم مِّنْ خِلَافٍ وَلَأُصَلِّبَنَّكُمْ أَجْمَعِینَ
Said (Pharaoh): "Believe ye in Him before I give you permission? surely he is your leader, who has taught you sorcery! but soon shall ye know! Be sure I will cut off your hands and your feet on opposite sides, and I will cause you all to die on the cross.
قُلْ أَیُّ شَیْءٍ أَكْبَرُ شَهَادَةً ۖ قُلِ اللَّهُ ۖ شَهِیدٌ بَیْنِی وَبَیْنَكُمْ ۚ وَأُوحِیَ إِلَیَّ هَٰذَا الْقُرْآنُ لِأُنذِرَكُم بِهِ وَمَن بَلَغَ ۚ أَئِنَّكُمْ لَتَشْهَدُونَ أَنَّ مَعَ اللَّهِ آلِهَةً أُخْرَىٰ ۚ قُل لَّا أَشْهَدُ ۚ قُلْ إِنَّمَا هُوَ إِلَٰهٌ وَاحِدٌ وَإِنَّنِی بَرِیءٌ مِّمَّا تُشْرِكُونَ
Say: "What thing is most weighty in evidence?" Say: "Allah is witness between me and you; This Qur´an hath been revealed to me by inspiration, that I may warn you and all whom it reaches. Can ye possibly bear witness that besides Allah there is another Allah?" Say: "Nay! I cannot bear witness!" Say: "But in truth He is the one Allah, and I truly am innocent of (your blasphemy of) joining others with Him.
عَالِمُ الْغَیْبِ وَالشَّهَادَةِ الْكَبِیرُ الْمُتَعَالِ
He knoweth the unseen and that which is open: He is the Great, the Most High.
قَالَ بَلْ فَعَلَهُ كَبِیرُهُمْ هَٰذَا فَاسْأَلُوهُمْ إِن كَانُوا یَنطِقُونَ
He said: "Nay, this was done by - this is their biggest one! ask them, if they can speak intelligently.
وَكَذَٰلِكَ جَعَلْنَا فِی كُلِّ قَرْیَةٍ أَكَابِرَ مُجْرِمِیهَا لِیَمْكُرُوا فِیهَا ۖ وَمَا یَمْكُرُونَ إِلَّا بِأَنفُسِهِمْ وَمَا یَشْعُرُونَ
Thus have We placed leaders in every town, its wicked men, to plot (and burrow) therein: but they only plot against their own souls, and they perceive it not.
3. Hardship
Exalted God states
وَاسْتَعِینُوا بِالصَّبْرِ وَالصَّلَاةِ ۚ وَإِنَّهَا لَكَبِیرَةٌ إِلَّا عَلَى الْخَاشِعِینَ
Nay, seek (Allah´s) help with patient perseverance and prayer: It is indeed hard, except to those who bring a lowly spirit.
شَرَعَ لَكُم مِّنَ الدِّینِ مَا وَصَّىٰ بِهِ نُوحًا وَالَّذِی أَوْحَیْنَا إِلَیْكَ وَمَا وَصَّیْنَا بِهِ إِبْرَاهِیمَ وَمُوسَىٰ وَعِیسَىٰ ۖ أَنْ أَقِیمُوا الدِّینَ وَلَا تَتَفَرَّقُوا فِیهِ ۚ كَبُرَ عَلَى الْمُشْرِكِینَ مَا تَدْعُوهُمْ إِلَیْهِ ۚ اللَّهُ یَجْتَبِی إِلَیْهِ مَن یَشَاءُ وَیَهْدِی إِلَیْهِ مَن یُنِیبُ
The same religion has He established for you as that which He enjoined on Noah - the which We have sent by inspiration to thee - and that which We enjoined on Abraham, Moses, and Jesus: Namely, that ye should remain steadfast in religion, and make no divisions therein: to those who worship other things than Allah, hard is the (way) to which thou callest them. Allah chooses to Himself those whom He pleases, and guides to Himself those who turn (to Him).
وَإِن كَانَ كَبُرَ عَلَیْكَ إِعْرَاضُهُمْ فَإِنِ اسْتَطَعْتَ أَن تَبْتَغِیَ نَفَقًا فِی الْأَرْضِ أَوْ سُلَّمًا فِی السَّمَاءِ فَتَأْتِیَهُم بِآیَةٍ ۚ وَلَوْ شَاءَ اللَّهُ لَجَمَعَهُمْ عَلَى الْهُدَىٰ ۚ فَلَا تَكُونَنَّ مِنَ الْجَاهِلِینَ
If their spurning is hard on thy mind, yet if thou wert able to seek a tunnel in the ground or a ladder to the skies and bring them a sign,- (what good?). If it were Allah´s will, He could gather them together unto true guidance: so be not thou amongst those who are swayed by ignorance (and impatience).
الَّذِینَ یَجْتَنِبُونَ كَبَائِرَ الْإِثْمِ وَالْفَوَاحِشَ إِلَّا اللَّمَمَ ۚ إِنَّ رَبَّكَ وَاسِعُ الْمَغْفِرَةِ ۚ هُوَ أَعْلَمُ بِكُمْ إِذْ أَنشَأَكُم مِّنَ الْأَرْضِ وَإِذْ أَنتُمْ أَجِنَّةٌ فِی بُطُونِ أُمَّهَاتِكُمْ ۖ فَلَا تُزَكُّوا أَنفُسَكُمْ ۖ هُوَ أَعْلَمُ بِمَنِ اتَّقَىٰ
Those who avoid great sins and shameful deeds, only (falling into) small faults,- verily thy Lord is ample in forgiveness. He knows you well when He brings you out of the earth, And when ye are hidden in your mothers´ wombs. Therefore justify not yourselves: He knows best who it is that guards against evil.
إِن تَجْتَنِبُوا كَبَائِرَ مَا تُنْهَوْنَ عَنْهُ نُكَفِّرْ عَنكُمْ سَیِّئَاتِكُمْ وَنُدْخِلْكُم مُّدْخَلًا كَرِیمًا
If ye (but) eschew the most heinous of the things which ye are forbidden to do, We shall expel out of you all the evil in you, and admit you to a gate of great honour.
یَسْأَلُونَكَ عَنِ الْخَمْرِ وَالْمَیْسِرِ ۖ قُلْ فِیهِمَا إِثْمٌ كَبِیرٌ وَمَنَافِعُ لِلنَّاسِ وَإِثْمُهُمَا أَكْبَرُ مِن نَّفْعِهِمَا ۗ وَیَسْأَلُونَكَ مَاذَا یُنفِقُونَ قُلِ الْعَفْوَ ۗ كَذَٰلِكَ یُبَیِّنُ اللَّهُ لَكُمُ الْآیَاتِ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَتَفَكَّرُونَ
They ask thee concerning wine and gambling. Say: "In them is great sin, and some profit, for men; but the sin is greater than the profit." They ask thee how much they are to spend; Say: "What is beyond your needs." Thus doth Allah Make clear to you His Signs: In order that ye may consider.
سْأَلُونَكَ عَنِ الشَّهْرِ الْحَرَامِ قِتَالٍ فِیهِ ۖ قُلْ قِتَالٌ فِیهِ كَبِیرٌ ۖ وَصَدٌّ عَن سَبِیلِ اللَّهِ وَكُفْرٌ بِهِ وَالْمَسْجِدِ الْحَرَامِ وَإِخْرَاجُ أَهْلِهِ مِنْهُ أَكْبَرُ عِندَ اللَّهِ ۚ وَالْفِتْنَةُ أَكْبَرُ مِنَ الْقَتْلِ ۗ وَلَا یَزَالُونَ یُقَاتِلُونَكُمْ حَتَّىٰ یَرُدُّوكُمْ عَن دِینِكُمْ إِنِ اسْتَطَاعُوا ۚ وَمَن یَرْتَدِدْ مِنكُمْ عَن دِینِهِ فَیَمُتْ وَهُوَ كَافِرٌ فَأُولَٰئِكَ حَبِطَتْ أَعْمَالُهُمْ فِی الدُّنْیَا وَالْآخِرَةِ ۖ وَأُولَٰئِكَ أَصْحَابُ النَّارِ ۖ هُمْ فِیهَا خَالِدُونَ
They ask thee concerning fighting in the Prohibited Month. Say: "Fighting therein is a grave (offence); but graver is it in the sight of Allah to prevent access to the path of Allah, to deny Him, to prevent access to the Sacred Mosque, and drive out its members." Tumult and oppression are worse than slaughter. Nor will they cease fighting you until they turn you back from your faith if they can. And if any of you Turn back from their faith and die in unbelief, their works will bear no fruit in this life and in the Hereafter; they will be companions of the Fire and will abide therein.
وَلَا تَنكِحُوا الْمُشْرِكَاتِ حَتَّىٰ یُؤْمِنَّ ۚ وَلَأَمَةٌ مُّؤْمِنَةٌ خَیْرٌ مِّن مُّشْرِكَةٍ وَلَوْ أَعْجَبَتْكُمْ ۗ وَلَا تُنكِحُوا الْمُشْرِكِینَ حَتَّىٰ یُؤْمِنُوا ۚ وَلَعَبْدٌ مُّؤْمِنٌ خَیْرٌ مِّن مُّشْرِكٍ وَلَوْ أَعْجَبَكُمْ ۗ أُولَٰئِكَ یَدْعُونَ إِلَى النَّارِ ۖ وَاللَّهُ یَدْعُو إِلَى الْجَنَّةِ وَالْمَغْفِرَةِ بِإِذْنِهِ ۖ وَیُبَیِّنُ آیَاتِهِ لِلنَّاسِ لَعَلَّهُمْ یَتَذَكَّرُونَ
Do not marry unbelieving women (idolaters), until they believe: A slave woman who believes is better than an unbelieving woman, even though she allures you. Nor marry (your girls) to unbelievers until they believe: A man slave who believes is better than an unbeliever, even though he allures you. Unbelievers do (but) beckon you to the Fire. But Allah beckons by His Grace to the Garden (of bliss) and forgiveness, and makes His Signs clear to mankind: That they may celebrate His praise.

وَلَا تَأْكُلُوا مِمَّا لَمْ یُذْكَرِ اسْمُ اللَّهِ عَلَیْهِ وَإِنَّهُ لَفِسْقٌ ۗ وَإِنَّ الشَّیَاطِینَ لَیُوحُونَ إِلَىٰ أَوْلِیَائِهِمْ لِیُجَادِلُوكُمْ ۖ وَإِنْ أَطَعْتُمُوهُمْ إِنَّكُمْ لَمُشْرِكُونَ
Eat not of (meats) on which Allah´s name hath not been pronounced: That would be impiety. But the evil ones ever inspire their friends to contend with you if ye were to obey them, ye would indeed be Pagans.
