"MALKHAST" is one of the best climate villages in the south of the SARI city
For years "MALKHAST" and other villages of "POSHTKOUH" in MAZANDARAN state were not much familiar to tourists, but the" BADAB SURT" fountains, which became known as one of the natural attractions in Iran, brought lot of travelers to the surrounding villages.
One of the spectacular and best climate villages of this area in MAZANDARAN state of Iran, in the southern city of SARI is MALKHAST village. MALKHAST is one of the villages of POSHTKOUH in the district of CHAHARDANGE, in SARI city, and one of the most convenient ways to reach it, is KIYASAR to SARI road. In addition, in this village there is also a lodging house. Other than its rural architecture, the construction style of two neighboring villages "EVEREST" and "GHALE SAR" is also spectacular.
Probably the most important attraction of the trip to this village, especially in the heat of August, is to watch beautiful and colorful springs of BADAB SURT and wash hands and face in the coolness of a spring that for every centimeter of its lime ponds, several million year time has been spent.

How do we get?
Three ways to reach to the village: It will take about two hours with a personal vehicle, to travel 120 kilometers from SARI city to MALKHAST village.
SARI: From KIYASAR Road, take 28 km to the TAKAM crossing and then on the left side, continue the route till TALMADRE crossing and drive for another 70 km. From TALMADRE crossing, go to the left side and drive for 22 km to reach the village of MALKHAST.
SEMNAN: Move from SEMNAN 28 km to SHAHMIRZAD, then from the road "FULAD MAHALE », move 75 km and continue the route to KIYASAR to get to TALMARE crossing. From there, turn to right, and after passing 22 km, you will reach to the village of MALKHAST. Driving this 125-kilometer route takes about two hours with a private car.
Tehran: On the FIRUZKUH road, two kilometers to the White Bridge, on the right, and from the side of the gas station from the subway road to the "AFRACHAL" and "SOLEIMAN TANGE" dam, continue this 75 km route to the TAKAM crossing, then go to KIYASAR and then to TALMADARE crossing. After 70 km, you reach to TALMADARE two-way, and after 22 km, you will be in MALKHAST village. Although this 364 kilometers route is longer, and it will take about six hours on the way, but it is a beautiful route.

Village structure: You can see examples of architectural style of northern Iran. In addition, you can taste local foods such as "GOHARMAST" », "DIKI ", and" ASHE DOOGH". In addition, you can buy JAJIM, KORJIN, GUAL, Pants, Garments, CHADORSHAB (women`s burka), felt and lacquer works. You can still see some elderly women villagers, who are making traditional rugs and you can buy from them.
"BADAB SURT": This Spring is one of the most spectacular attractions in Iran. The calcareous springs of different colors are located 10 km from the village of MALKHAST. Nature has spent several million years building these calcareous structures, but due to lack of care of the passengers and the removal of one or two mines near the spring, BADAB SURT has suffered a lot. If you travel to this fountain, park your personal car away and take a pedestrian walk. In addition, don’t put your shoes on the corners of spring.
