Shams al-Amara is one of the tall and specified and interesting buildings of the old Tehran. As if Nasereddin Shah before traveling to Europe and watching the images of buildings and skyscrapers of the West countries tends to establish a tall building such as the buildings in the capital of Europe countries, so that he and his wives can watch Tehran and the surrounding landscape.
Around the year 1282 AD, the king ordered Doostali Khan Moir Al-Mamalek and gave him the mission to build this building in the East of the Royal Citadel.
Moir Al-Mamalek immediately designed the building plan with the help of and skilled architects like Ali Mohammad Kashi and started to shed the foundation. The construction of the building was complete after two years; it means in 1284 AD and he named there Shams al-Amara.
