BIOGRAPHY OF DOCTOR MOHAMMAD MOEIN

After finishing primary education, went to DARULFONOUN for further education in Tehran. Got his PhD in 1943. Mohammad received honorary doctorate from many foreign universities and became member of the academy of Iran. MOEIN became head of committee in international literature seminar (SUMER) in HARWARD UNIVERSITY. He wrote nearly 23 books. His most important activity was cooperation with ALAME DEHKHODA. When DEHKHODA expired, professor MOEIN managed and published those valuable articles.
According to the wish of NIMA YOUSHIJ, Mr. MOEEN collected his essays and letters and gave them for printing.
MOEIN dictionary is his main book, which is printed in 6 volumes. This dictionary is one of the valuable sources in Persian language.
He was one of the greatest scientists in his own time.

Doctor was knowing French, English, Arabic and German.

He was expert in many accents of Persian too and was quite familiar with Old Persian that means: PAHLAVI AVESTA.

DOCTOR MOEIN was close partner to Mr. DEHKHODA.

DOCTOR explains: when I was selected to be partner, ALAME GHAZVINI told me to be careful, DEHKHODA is very hard man. You have to work hard, promise me not to leave him, promise me that you will not become sad, and I promised him. Two weeks before his death, I told him about Mr. GHAZVINI. And DEHKHODA told me: dictionary is not my moon now. Half of it belongs to GHAZVINI.
Eight of DEHKGODA`s dictionary volumes were verified and printed under supervising of late MOEIN.

LAST DAYS:

In 1967, government of Iran sent doctor MOEIN to explain Iranian culture to some scientists who were waiting for him in Turkey. Two other officers were in his group. But due to unknown matters, they left him and he remained alone to do the heavy duty. It was conference of 10 days in English language. MOEEN continued to do the work satisfactory. He became so tired. Anyway he done his duty well and came back to Tehran. The next day, he attended the university to teach for his students. While he was in literature master`s room and wanted to accept the proposal of one of the doctorate students, fell down. Soon, they have taken him to ARIA hospital for treatment. For few days he was able to talk.
After some examinations and photography, doctors came to know he is suffering from brain lesion. So to take exact photography they injected a colored injection to his brain. But unfortunately because of carelessness in experiment, the same day doctor went to coma.
So authorities brought two brain surgeon from Russia and five from England. After brief experiments, foreign specialists announced that brain lesion is terrible. No way for his recovery. For nearly 5 years, he was in coma position. This was a sad end for a great professor who made wonderful works for his nation and people.
