One of important criterion of the evaluation of a religion is its effects on the management of the life of persons and the community and each school tries to introduce itself as an effective religion. From psychological aspect, human tries to achieve things that are useful even if some affairs have no benefits logically. The desire of seeking benefits encourages human to follow such affairs because they have temporary enjoyment. Allame Tabatabaei mentions this matter as '' employment''. In other words, to achieve purposes, human applies all facilities and means of material world and his or her objection is to gain personal benefits more than anything else. This spirit causes that human be in invasive mood rather than cooperation mood. For example, in the matter of civilization and barbarity, when a person sees that some persons are invading him or her from certain areas, he or she enacts some rules and establishes lawful ways and does not rebel because he or she gains some income. This results from the spirit of employment of human. Naturally, such persons prefer barbarity to civilization, but we should not imagine that that is all. Human includes two natural and instinct aspects. In natural aspect, the desire of human is toward barbarity rather than civilization, but the instinct of human is toward civilization. The reason of the desire of persons for employing others is to achieve their purposes which comes from the spirit of benefit attraction.
Such a feature causes that human considers whatever benefits him or her useful and whatever is useful for the people of the society is seen in the society. Hence, in our era, a religion that is in line with the nature of human can be useful because the nature of human is not fixed and permanent if human gets away from his nature temporarily due to some factors, finally, he or she will need his or her nature and will tend to his or her religion. Therefore, the religion should be presented purely and without false interpretations because human tends to the religion that is based on his or her nature.
The ways of the presentation of appropriate religion
Hence, there are two different ways, but appropriate, logical and intellectual; otherwise, there are a lot of false ways in order to present the religion. The result of these two ways is the same. In other words, both two ways lead human to their destination, but one of them leads human to their destination more and easier. The first way of the presentation of the religion is the presentation of the advantages of the religion as meaningful forms. For example, to show the benefits and advantages of justice, honesty or courage in a society, we transfer necessary trains to people through book, sermon, TV, Internet and … or develop their information and if they have false interpretation and point of view toward those cases, we remove this fault. This path was the way of prophets and Imams (peace be upon them). For example, they mentioned a lot of effects for justice, courage and honesty and remembered its positive effects in the world and the afterlife. Hearing such effects, they tended to those concepts. But two problems happen in such a situation. Getting the attention of people to positive and religious concepts is easy because most of people do not spent time paying attention to these affairs and thinking about them. Another problem is that it takes a lot of time that these kinds of the presentation of religious concepts leave their effects. Expressing the positive effects of honesty is pleasant for people, but it is not simple that what extent this should be is not specified because most of absolute matters include some exceptions, people either do not pay attention to these exceptions or misuse them. The result of not paying attention to this matter or misusing it is in contrast with the purpose of promoting those conceptions. Hence, the second way, the presentation of religious conceptions and rules, is more appropriate than the first way. In this way, instead of presenting the effects of religious concepts, we should introduce an example of persons that have implemented these conceptions in their inner and their mind and inner got familiar with such conceptions. This kind of presentation can be named '' typical presentation''. This means that we introduce a prominent example and exemplary norm. Of course, his prominent example includes positive conceptions. In other words, the first way can be implemented with this way. The advantage of this kind of presentation of the religion is quick attraction, high permanence and spontaneous movement toward religious positive conceptions. When a person selects an exemplary person as pattern, he or she avoids following the rejected attributes of that person. Of course, to eradicate moral corruptions, we can introduce a negative pattern apart from introducing a positive pattern. To eradicate corruptions, we can follow both patterns. To explain about the usefulness of the religion, there are two ways: conceptual way that is appropriate and is confirmed by intellectuals and the way of selecting persons as patterns that is more useful. In the way of selecting persons as patterns, no religion is as rich as Shiite.Important point is that this way is related to romantic and emotional relationship a part from logical analysis. As it was said, typical way subsumes conceptual way. When an exemplary persons as a pattern is introduced to addressees with different reasons and persons make sure about him or her, conceptions that they follow through imitating this pattern can have logical support. However, introducing a pattern is not related to only superficial features, but his or her moral features are expressed. Considering a superior person as a pattern, a person follows positive conceptions and avoids negative conceptions. This is not considered as blind imitation. In fact, affection and love toward the pattern cause that a person selects him or her as a pattern by all means.
If it is discussed about justice and its comprehensiveness, especially Shiite interpretation from wisdom, a lot of people tend to it. But if we introduce Hazrat Ali (peace be upon him) as a superior example in the establishment of justice, the effect of the second way, the introduction of a person as a pattern, will be more than the first one because persons observe justice within the inner of such a great man in a high degree, they are more fascinated in such a person and follow such moral and behavioral concepts. It is a long time that the west has understood this matter that introducing a pattern is more effective than other ways, the presentation of immoral concepts. According to our beliefs, we have specific rules for Hijab that is a luminous thought in the Islam and we do not consider it as limitation, but safety. The west is in contrast with such a matter and tries to promote laxity and prohibits Hijab and present doubts about it.
Through this way, the west can achieve purposes easier than changing their point of view about Hijab through conceptualizing. Moreover, a person tends to personal independence from psychological aspect. In other words, they do not like that something is imposed on them. In fact, the emphasis of the Islam is being the persons of God and freeing from limitations. If persons are led toward an affair, they will not accept it easily, but if they are motivated, they will accept it more easily. A positive aspect about introducing a pattern to persons is that persons are led toward the Islam indirectly and easily with the preservation of friendship independence.
I have communicated with different persons from different parts of Iran in different ages for years. Unfortunately, selecting inappropriate persons as a pattern has made a lot persons go wrong. Most of youths have paid attention to inappropriate patterns wrongly and have considered them as patterns that are not related to our native culture even in the way of walking, talking, wearing, behaving and their beliefs. The promotion of these inappropriate patterns in the country and abroad and lack of appropriate presentation of true patterns are factors that damage the religion whereas Shias have persons as patterns more than Sunnis and there are a lot of persons as patterns in the Islam in comparing to other religions. The inappropriate use of these patterns has a lot of destructive effects.
It should be mentioned that a pattern is a person that is immaculate or he or she is confirmed by immaculate persons or intellectuals so that others can follow him or her. Generally, selecting persons as a pattern has some ranks. To persuade persons to honesty, you can use Abuzar Ghafari or Salman Farsi for piety as patterns. Khaje Nasir and Ibn Sina are considered as a pattern in the matter on learning sciences and Mirza Shirazi as a pattern in morals. Imam Khomeini (may God's mercy be upon him) in fulfilling obligations and the author of the books '' Al-Zorie'' or '' Abaghat Al-Anvar'' in diligence are introduced as patterns. All patterns are not certainly from immaculate dynasty.
We can follow the behaviors and features of the dignitaries of the religion as patterns. According to a Hadith, Imam Zaman (may God hasten his advent) introduces Hazrat Zahra (peace be upon her) as a pattern. We can have a lot of patterns.
Introducing a pattern is useful when we follow it in life aspects. Of course, it does not mean that we can become like innocent Imams (peace be upon them) because no one is compared to the dynasty of Hazrat Muhammad according to the interpretation of Nahj Al-Balaghe'''. This does not reject that we should not consider them as patterns.
Paying attention to the style of the life of innocent Imams (peace be upon them) in individual and social life, we can observe that we have some limitations to take patterns in all areas of the life. Considering them as patterns and following their behaviors that are called '' Sunnah'' has a lot of benefits. Innocent Imams (peace be upon them) and prophets are considered as superior patterns in Shiite Religion.
Hence, to show the usefulness of the religion in the society, we can use an appropriate way of the presentation of the concepts of the religion within the framework of patterns that can lead to the efficiency of the religion spontaneously. The introduction of pattern can be useful for other societies as well. Some Christian persons in Lebanon, Ashuri persons in Iraq , Armenian persons in Isfahan and Hindi people are fascinated in some superior patterns of the Islam such as Imam Ali(peace be upon him) and Imam Hussein(peace be upon him).
If we talked for such persons about the benefit of justice, dealing with tyranny and the promotion of justice, it did not have quick and extended quick as much as getting these persons to be familiar with some patterns such as Imams.
If a person pays attention to a positive pattern completely, he or she will become enthusiastic in good actions and will avoid doing bad actions. The introduction of negative patterns in order to eradicate social corruptions may transfer the ugly actions of those personalities to their behaviors. Hence, this way is used to eradicate moral corruptions and beliefs.
For example, introduce Hojaj Saghafi or Yazid completely. Such introduction causes that addressees hate their ugly behaviors. One way of eradicating corruption is hate because hate is related to thought and moral scientists say that one of the most main ways to leave ugly actions is thought.
There are a lot of sources in order to introduce persons as patterns. The most important source is Quran. Hadiths and valid historical books can introduce some persons as patterns. The book ''Halie Al-Motaghin'' written by Allame Majlesi and the book '' Sonan Al-Nabi'' written by Allame Tabatabaei are from these kinds of books.
