He was born in Tehran. SABA is from descendants of FATHALIKHAN SABA KASHANI, the poet of ZANDIYEH period. His father, KAMALOLSALTANE, was doctor, artist and aficionados, who played sitar. And their house was considered to be a suitable place for masters of music. HASAN started his elementary course in ELMIYEH School and passed his primary course in the American School. MIRZA Abdullah thought him how to play the sitar music, then continued his music course with DARVISH Khan. ESMAILZADE was another master to teach him fiddle and HANG AFARIN taught him violin, for dulcimer and approached to ALI AKBAR SHAHI. In 1924, the School of music which was established by ALI NAGHI VAZIRI, he went there and learned the violin with Professor VAZIRI, under elaborate teachings of Mr. VAZIRI became orchestral soloist. Except that, Saba had a good role in painting, woodcarving, and literature. In 1910, HASAN was appointed by minister, as principle of soft industry school in RASHT city, and collected numerous local songs. He spent years at the National Music School Orchestra, Radio new Orchestra, number one orchestra, flowers of radio. And for long was conductor of number one orchestra in Department of Fine. Saba had a special way of playing the violin, and constructed new system for the said instrument. And trained great students, the most important ones are: ALI TAJVIDI, Mehdi KHALEDI, HABIBOLLAH BADIEE, Hussein YAHAGHI, PARVIZ YAHAGHI and ROHULLAH KHALEGHI. Saba has numerous books, including "three orders of violin", "three orders of dulcimer," "Three tar commands"; "percussion parts" as well as several audio cassettes, e most important ones are: "Camel Bell", "Caravan" "soft yellow", " to the prison", " in the cage", "mountain", "QASEMABAD square dance", " to remember the memory" and four different music.
In addition to know about many instruments, he was playing the dulcimer, so well. Later years, in cooperation with Mr. HABIB SAMAEE, gave fresh life to this Iranian instrument. Saba, till he was alive, always preferred with humility to know him just a player, but he was expert in many fields just like: violin, fiddle, cittern, Law , strings, glockenspiel, piano, flute, bamboo, beat the tambourine, painting, literature, astronomy and floriculture industries.
ROHULLAH KHALEGHI, believed that, Mr. SABA had innate talent in music and therefore less Iranian musician can be found like him. Once an Italian musician met SABA and saw his playing, then that fellow said: "This man, in solitude is an orchestra ".
Saba was a true-hearted man, affable and away from the pride. And in an early age was working in armory. With respect to the salary that they were giving him, he was more interested in music and the technical works he learnt in the armory, such as carpentry, casting, filing and much more, used those technics in producing and repairing music tools. Often, He was going to the carpentry workshop belonging to his friend in the ZAHIROLESLAM alley which was near to his home to fix or make a device.
Saba works can be divided into two categories. First category includes performances of violin, sitar, strings, most of them are available on the cassettes. The second category includes songs, collected local songs and theoretical works. Saba has a research book about Iranian instruments and their history. Most great musicians of Iran such as: Habib SAMAEE, HOSEIN TEHRANI became familiar to scientific science with his help. Mehdi KHALEDI, Ali TAJVIDI, HABIBOLAH BADIEE, FARAMARZ PAYVAR, Majid VAFADAR were of his prominent disciples. According to an estimate, from the presence of Saba in the fields of: violin, fiddle, cittern, strings, glockenspiel, law, multiplication and flute, nearly 2000 fellows were trained.
Professor ABOLHASAN Saba is just one of the great musicians of Iran who made a new way for national music and traditional folk music by writing books and paved the various methods, but also opened new season of music and many copied his style.

Saba was always suffering from heart disease, and the disease eventually leaded to his death on Friday night of the twenty-ninth of December 1957 that Iran lost an honorable man and artist. Happy be soul.
