Tourists’ impact on environmental resources

Sustainable development relies on economic, social, cultural and environmental components of a community. Tourism as an activity which affects all development components needs to be examined more than ever before.
This study addresses characteristics of sustainable tourism especially environmental effects of tourism activities in a particular area, Torghabe in Mashhad city, explaining common components of sustainable development from different perspectives.
It shows the current trend to deal with nature has been beyond the environment capacity despite some regulated activities and facilities and there are serious threats which could damage and destroy natural and economic capabilities of the region.
