The desert of Shahdad is considered a part of Lut desert. With unknown and amazing wonders it can open up a new window to Iran's nature.
A desert is not a mere land. If you take a better look , you can follow the trace of our culture and history on its naked stretch. The desert of Shahdad with starred skies , peaceful nights, lovely sunsets and sunrises, deceiving mirage, legendary Kaluts, resembling splendid palaces, the sweet taste of oranges and dates as well as ancient spaces would cater for the interest of all tourists from different classes.
Beside the mentioned attractions the permanent river of Shur , or salt river, has multiplied its beauty and glamour thanks to its beautiful salt crystals and egg-like salt pieces . In addition, it boasts Gandom-e Beryan hill, or roasted wheat hill , and Gaz bushes on the body of the desert. It's a place where explorations are still needed, just like unknown planets.
Nights in deserts are imaginary and hard to describe; you can experience pitch- dark nights full of shining stars nowhere. When the umbrella of night is spread over the desert you'll want to raise your hands and pick some stars. Here skies and land are very close. Although the shining sun in the sky will burn the parched and barren desert and emit extreme heat and fire, the night will make up for the daytime unkindness and beautify the sky with abundant striking stars.
