Kondoloj Village

Kondoloj, a village in East Azerbaijan province, is located in the rural district of north Mishab in the central district of the city of Marand. Kondoloj which is called Kul Li in Azeri perhaps means where the ash is massed.
Among the most pleasant villages in Marand, it boasts mild summers and fairly cold winters. Different types of fruit trees and vegetables are found there such as apricots, pears, walnuts, cherries, sour cherries, and plums. In the last couple of years green gardens and the villas of the village have become a resort for many visitors from Tabriz and Marand.
In the past there used to be a railway station which is no more in use and it's been abandoned for many years now. According to the census by the information and statistics center in Marand in 1385, solar calendar, the village has over 600 households.
Its total population is about 2,050( currently 3,500 people). Of which 1,010 are men and 1015 women. The literate population is 1397.

Geographical location

The village is the center of Mishab rural district which is considered the central part of Marand. It extends north to Marand, south to the mountain range of Mishu, west to the village of Goljar, and east to the village of Mulla Yusuf.
Along with its gardens and agricultural lands, it is far bigger than the nearby villages.
At present, the village offers 3 minibuses and about 10 taxis which are busy transporting the residents. It is rich in terms of waters for agricultural purposes and enjoys old and abundant subterranean canals. In addition, since the area lies at the foothill it has abundant underground waters, exploited by power and water engines.
The principal subterranean canals of the village include, Khan Kahrizi, Montaj, Kazim Abad, Doranji, Mihrab, Hassan Beig, Bala Kahriz, Hussein Agha, Alsalavat, Kur Kahriz,
Mammad Kahrizi and so on.

Special places

In Kondoloj there are several regions with old names such as Ghashghali, Bailonga, Ghizil Zamin, Khinya, Ghulushlar, Durdur Abad, Padshahligh, Nasib, Shojae Jam, Kurpular Ghabaghi, Panja Gir, etc.

Recreational resorts

Among its main highlights which draw many people on Sizdah Be dar, the last day of public holidays on the new Persian year, and summertime are, Mehrab Bashi, Gazin Chimani, Doranji Bashi, Kazim Abad Kahrizi, Arbab Baghi, Haj Hassan Yeari, Hassan Bay, Mantash Bashi, and Imamzadeh.
