MODARES TABRIZI says, his full name was Mahmoud ben POURIA VALI. When he was young, he embroidered coat and hat. At the same, he was going to other cities and countries like India for the sake of wrestling. He was so famous in many cities and countries.
Once king of India invited him to do wrestling with Indian hero. POURIA accepted the invitation and went there. But before entering the ground of wrestling, he saw the opponent`s mother is crying and requesting God for his son`s victory. POURIA VALI showed an exciting combat but at the end surprisingly allowed to Hindi hero to win. By this way Indian mother became so happy and thanked God.
POURIA VALI was mastered the techniques of wrestling and physical abilities.
In Iran, when wrestlers are performing difficult tasks such as rock lifting, remember his name and get his name on their tongue. At the beginning of each exercise, read poem attributed to him.
In an old document of 12 principles, POURIA, gave his instruction to the men who want to be wrestlers:
Respect for the protagonist, not lying, no curse, don’t leave prayers and love people.

POURIA has written a book by name, KANZALUL HAAGHAYEGH.
There are 5 articles and 1300 bits. At the beginning of the book, he praised the holy prophet of Islam (PBUH). The said book has mystical and ethical issues of faith, testimony, purity, prayer, fasting, zakat, hajj, jihad with soul, passion, purpose and characteristics of the Imam Mahdi, and the judgment. This valuable book was published in 1974 in Tehran (MOSHAR, FOURTH VOLUME).
There is a manuscript of POURIA `s collection of RUBAIYAT in Uzbek academy of science institute in TASHKAND city. In this great book the champion calls the people for fairness, loyalty, happiness and pursuit of knowledge. And blames hypocritical people and those who are captured by superstitions.
His tomb is in TURKMENISTAN. And people of the area have belief in his spiritual character. So after marriage ceremony, they go to his tomb for consecrate. God bless his soul.
