On the night of April 1927, when the New Year began, brazen wife of REZA KHAN with some of the court women, pulsing away from chastity, went to shrine of MASOUME (AS) in Qom and stayed in the mirrors porch. Because women were without suitable veils and had entered the shrine, one of the preachers had objected to the way they dressed. In this case, righteous and brave man, Sheikh Muhammad TAGHI BAFGHI objected on them and encouraged people to protest against those ladies. When this news was reported to REZA Khan, on second day of April, he along with a number of military officials arrived in Qom, and went directly to the shrine, and ordered to beat the clergies and Ayatollah BAFGHI. Khan, then ordered to exile Ayatollah BAFGHI to Ray City. Finally, a few years later, after the dismissal of REZA PAHLAVI from Iran, SHEIKH returned to Qom. Some researchers, believe that the objection of Ayatollah BAFGHI to the presence of unveiled women in the holy shrine, resulted in nearly eight years of delay in the official announcement of unveiling system. Also, Ayatollah BAFGHI`s courage in front of Khan had great effect on the Qom religious school. Even Imam Khomeini, remembered his action and called it as moral behavior which be encouraged.
