BIOGRAPHY OF MAHMOUD SAREMI

MAHMOUD SAREMI was born in CHAHAR BARRE village, BORUJERD Parish, in LORESTAN province in 1968. His family were engaged in agricultural work. Occasionally the father was going to Kuwait to find a job. So children were forced to work in their early life. And Mahmoud was not exception of this rule. He finished primary school in his own village. And for continuing his education went to BORUJERD and stayed in his sister`s house. After participation in the entrance examination and getting admission in Geography, immigrated to Tehran. MAHMOUD`s family also moved to the said city. And after passing some semesters, had been sent to the war front, by student mobilization of Tehran University and spent 17 months there. Again came back to university and continued his education. MAHMOUD cooperated with the Islamic Republic of Iran`s news in 1991. In 1992 while he was continuing his education, he got married. In 1996 he was selected as a clerk of the Islamic Republic News Agency in MAZARSHARIF of Afghanistan. And after two years in 1998 in the city of MAZAR Sharif with 8 other persons of Iran`s head Consulate`s staff were martyred by the Taliban gunmen with all innocence.
The General cultural Council of country in the first anniversary of this event, in order to tribute to the official, named the 17 of MORDARD as "Journalist day".
