One of our industrialist artists is NARIMAN ABNOUSI. He was born in SAVEH City in 1923. At age 8, he turned to music and he found it with a great interest. After a while, he began to build a local construct, called "CHEGURE", this instrument is consisted of 9-wires and has a sweet sound.
As NARIMAN loved Iran and Iranians, tried to revive the craft of Iran in 1949, and made the first instrument of "Oud" which that is the "BARBAT", an ancient musical instrument of Iran and he made it so well, that its fame crossed borders, and went around the Persian Gulf sheikhdoms and from there went to Iraq, Lebanon, Syria and Egypt, for example, one of the masters of Egypt performers of "OUD" by name MOHAMMAD ABDULVAHAB, came to meet him, he saw the OUD, and found it very interesting. Although, from this point onwards, Iranian NARIMAN made this Iranian instrument for Arab countries to manifesting their music, but unfortunately, it is not used in orchestras of Iran and if it is did, it was in less field for its player.
Further than OUD, Mr. ABNOUSI also made "SETAR" and "SANTOUR" and undoubtedly he did it well but his handmade Oud is something individual. Because of invitation of that time's Ministry of Culture and the Arts he joint to the said office and he worked in their workshop but according to disagreement with leads, he huffed from the ministry and never gone back there. He worked in his own special workshop up to the end of his life. Mr. NARIMAN made his instruments by maple and walnuts woods and drying of wood done with his own method.
In making OUD, NARIMAN is the unique master in his time and made the best and most beautiful Ouds. "SETAR", "CHAGOURS", and "TANBOURS" of him are also famous and unique. Deceased master, was also made other instruments like "Tar", "GHANOUN", and "SANTOUR" and in crack filling and joining parts of instruments individually, was of the wonderful masters. From this great artist, remained three daughters and two sons, all of them are artists. AMOU ABNOUSI was graduated in piano course from England and also other daughters are knowing piano thoroughly and his son SAHAK ABNOUSI, knows all instruments, and specially is one of the best Oud players but most of his efforts, are in making instruments in father's workshop.
