Explaining the way to reach perfection
In the Quranic teachings some insight issues such as ontology, theology and anthropology are explained to show the way to humans to achieve their worthy perfection. So humans will know their situation in the universe of and then they will use their all tools and capabilities to achieve this goal. An important part of these Quranic teachings focuses on anthropology. In this regard God as the Creator pays attention to all essential elements of human existence and nature of human existence and then he makes clear explanation on the unknown aspects of him. Then, he stands in the role of God and in the field of genetic and legislation, leads man towards the qualified perfection. In the legislative part since most of the work has been entrusted to the man himself, the teachings of the divine command to species is somehow that man has a choice of good and evil and the good and the bad and the ugly and the beautiful, and he should choose one. However, these teachings have been set in such a situation that have been harmonized with the nature of human instinct, as it tries to determine to state the precise effects of each command.
these Quranic teachings For more precise explanation of human issues, not only pay attention to the problem of human interaction but to take note of this further and psychological problems, situations, human characteristics and internal affairs and human heart is also discussed.
Joy and sorrow from the perspective of holy Quran
The teachings of holy Quran has paid attention to the issue of joy and sorrow as two cases of human behavior to know its consequences in the worldly, spiritual and material life of human and express its precepts and teachings based on command, guidance and adjustment of purposes. Two words of joy and sorrow are used in the Qur'an in such a way that it can be claimed that happiness in the Quranic verses and revelatory insight and attitude is a very positive concept while joy is not viewed as a positive concept.
Happiness is one of the mental states and natural human reactions to certain events for example human reactions to different things are diverse. Something excites him and motivates his happiness in such a way that this reaction is seen in his breathing and other changes in his blood and the other organs of his body. The face is smiling. Some other issues raise and cause the opposite reactions that can cause abnormal functions in his organs, and behavior. People are familiar with these two modes that are referred to as the joy and sadness.
Sometimes emotions are to the extent that can be said they are out of control. These severe excitements cause some kind of abnormality in the behavior of person. In the Arabic and even Quranic applications this claim can be confirmed that the happiness is some kind of a balanced emotions that people express when events are welcome. This means that we can understand the person is pleased and satisfied and he shows his happiness in different forms.
This means that happiness is an internal matter, while joy is the manifestation of that inner matter and by joy we transfer this happiness to different organs of body, in this case, the body will be accompanied with impetuous movements. The happy man within himself is faced with emotional state, which is interpreted as individual satisfaction. But the man who has fun with emotions in particular has expressed and exhibits their satisfaction and their movements in the body.
The applications of two words: happiness and joy
If we pay attention to the applications of word ''joy'' in the Quran we can understand well that joy means showing some showy movements that is not a positive and desirable sense. In the verse 76 of Surah Qesas it has been explicitly stated that God does not love those who jump for joy.
لاتفرح ان الله لايحب الفرحين
''Do not jump for joy because God does not love this act.''
Therefore, as a normative doctrine, jumping for joy is prevented. Of course the case and the motives of joy can be positive or negative. It means that the states of joy are neutral by itself and we cannot interpret them as good or bad. However, since some of the verses of the holy Quran have stated clearly that jumping for joy is not good it may be an absolute rule of the evil and disorder and it seems that it is something negative and unpleasant feeling and bad vision and attitude that is revealed by the holy Quran, but when God talks about the joy of believers we see some exceptions.
Joy of believers
When the holy Quran refers to factors and incentives, joy is refreshing and positive, and this is when the believers express joy and happiness of divine blessings. In the verse 58 of Surah Yunus that the almighty God speaks of his own grace and mercy, then he says that believers should be joyful for these spiritual affairs and divine states that can be refreshing. (Thunder verse 36)
But the joy that unbelievers and the secular show because of this world is something bad and many verses has blamed this issue and has stated that a person should not be happy because of the worldly blessings. escape from war and death (surah Tobeh verse 81) and having the physical and temporal blessings that God gives to man (surah of Shora verse 48) or in favor wind (Yunus verse 22) or commodity and worldly life (Thundar verse 26) and having the general and fleeting worldly mercy (Thundar verse 26) or the joy of unbelievers because of the failure of believers and worldly involvement
(Al-Imran verse 120) these are examples of holy Quran which refers to the motivation of joy.
It seems that joy is something like dancing and physical movements that are done by person because of the great excitement in human beings and it controls the man and makes him to do some uncontrollable behaviors and movements. But happiness is a good thing that sometimes is called annunciation. In the case of happiness, skin refreshes. Joy and dancing have synonymous meanings.
The holy Quran states that believers are happy, and it explained it as an ideal characteristic for humans in Paradise. (Surah Ensan Verse 11) The holy Quran says: believers are happy and have open faces that day. (Ghyamah Verse 24)
This means that happiness is something that is the inner state and a happy person feels an inner satisfaction. The faithful man indicates the fact that all power is in the hands of God and due to pure monotheism they even believe in monotheism in their actions and God's involved in everything.
The believer is indeed pleased and satisfied, whether nature agrees with his or her wishes or it is opposed with his wishes, because he knows that the whole existence is in the hands of God. The believers know that every good event is blessings of God and every bad events are due to his sins. .
The faithful person is happy and this desirable characteristic is permanent. He tries to be happy in his life and he shows his happiness by smiling. In the tradition of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) we see that he always had a smile. This suggests two things: first that the faithful should follow the model and example of such Islamic teaching and he should show his happiness by smile, the other point is that in social behavior, he must be faithful he should not even show his grief to others. If he was always smiling in the communities that he was present; this does not mean that he did not grieve, but he did not reveal his grief when facing with the people.
However, sometimes believers face with events that makes them despondent, but this does not mean that he is always in his grief or show his sorrow to other people.
The believer is one who is always happy and he shows it to the other people and if he feels sorrow for any reason, the marriage was over (although its time is short) he does not show it to others. The application of word ''skin'' means that the believers show their happiness by their skin and not by jumping and dancing.
In the story of Prophet Solomon (as) it has been said that his normal reaction to the word of ants' king was smile. (Surah Naml Verse 19) So smiling has a meaning other than laughing. And the believer smiles not laughs. A believer never burst to laugh and never shows his happiness by his organs or dancing, because it leads to negligence and forgetting the almighty God.
