
She was wife of sultan SHAHROKH MIRZA EBN AMIR TEIMOUR GOURKANI, was one of the good doers and famous women. And one of her charitable buildings and monuments is the school and KHANEGHAH (abbey) of the Herat city and the JAMEH mosque of MASHHAD. Both of the buildings are being known as GOHARSHAD mosque. She was being killed in the year 861 HEJRI by the order of sultan ABUSAEED in Herat and was buried beside her son, Prince BISUNGUR MIRZA, in GOHARSHAD mosque in Herat, (being killed in 861 HEJRI).she was a poetess and a benefactor and the sister of emir GARAYUSOUF (790-802 LUNAR HEJRI) and wife of TIMURID SHAHROKH MIRZA(807-850 HEJRI). Although in the book’’ RIYAHEN-AL-SHARIAH’’ she was being mistakenly named as the sister of SHAHROKH, son of TEIMOUR. He was interested in history and literature. and MEHRI HERAVI, the famous poetess of the ninth century HEJRI was her companion and maid. She was killed in Herat by an order of sultan ABUSAEED TIMURID. (855-837 L.H) and her tombstone is beside her son BISUNGUR MIRZA in GOHARSHAD mosque in that city. Among her monuments, we can refer to: GOHARSHAD JAMEH mosque in Herat, the school and KHANEGHAH in Herat, GOHARSHAD JAME mosque in MASHHAD beside the mausoleum of Imam Reza, two porches of DAR-UL-HEFAZ and Dar-UL-SIYADAH around the shrine of Imam Reza and its surroundings. (9th Ramadan of the year 861 HEJRI).
As a lover of letters and a fostering arts woman she was the sister of Amir GHAREH YUSOUF (790-802 HEJRI) and wife of TIMOURID SHAHROKH MIRZA (807-850 L.H). She was interested in history and literature and MEHRI HERAVI, the famous ninth century poetess was her companion and maid. GOHARSHAD BEIGAM left many buildings and monuments, the JAME mosque, the mosque and KHANEGHAH in Herat and a mosque beside the mausoleum of Imam Reza(821 of Lunar calendar) that these two mosques are being named after her name, GOHARSHAD mosque which are being considered as architectural and tiling masterpieces of the ninth century HEJRI. Also, she built worthwhile monuments besides the mausoleum of Imam Reza such as two porches of Dar-al-HIFAZ and Dar-al-SIYADAH. The builder of these two porches and mosques in Herat and MASHHAD was GHAVAM-UL-DIN SHIRAZI. In the year 85 HEJRI, when SHAHROKH MIRZA attacked Isfahan to trample sultan Mohammad BISUNGUR, some of the descendants of the prophet Mohammad, the leaders, and scientists of that city were arrested for being guilty of associating with sultan Mohammad and were exiled. As a result of instigation by lady GOHARSHAD, king Aladdin Mohammad who was one of the descendants of the prophet Mohammad and was one of the noblemen of Isfahan was hanged. When King ABOU SAEED was ruling (855-873), by his order, GOHARSHAD BEIGAM was killed and buried beside her son BISUNGUR MIRZA in GOHARSHAD mosque in herat city which still remains there. Her name is being registered as GOHARSHAD agha as well.
