Shahrestanak lies near Tehran. It’s not far and offers a pleasant climate.
The path starts from Karaj-Chalus road . The best way is to start before Gachsar , , after 8 km you on a paved road will be there.
The charming Shahrestanak enjoys both historic and beautiful natural attractions. The first thing you might find fascinating are the trees in lovely colors covering the whole place. As far as eyes could see is trees.
It ends in a dead-end but experienced mountain climbers can reach the peak of Shah Neshin in from Tuchal peaks. They take some rest and return home.
After some deep breaths in the clean and exhilarating air and refreshment , move on to Naseri palace.
The listed national and cultural landamark was built at the order of Nasereddin Shah . One of the highlights of the village, it contains a rock. It is said that Nasereddin Sah was resting when the rock ran down towards him and stopped after a few moments.
It’s very pleasant and you can view the palace from all directions.
Among other highlights is Dozd Band castle . You are recommended to wear climbing shoes to go there otherwise do watch it from down and enjoy the beauty. It’s quite exhausting to go up there.

You can lie down in the shade of sour cherry and walnut trees with lots of rich fruits and stare at the clear blue sky. You might also want to lean against them and watch the enjoyable scenery.
You can fill your backpack with rare and delicious walnuts; break some and eat. The image of the clear water will make you maintain your smile for at least one week.
It’s a good idea to go there on one-day tours or you can drive your own car.
The slang term for Shahrestanak is Shahrestunak. To reach there you can take Chalus road ; 42 km on the road and after the village of Asara , you ‘ll see a sign showing Shahretanak.
That’s the easiest way to access the beautiful village with a nice climate.
Remember to bring along your meals and tents as the facilities are not that available. Certainly travelers always carry mats and equipment but please take warm clothes and blanket since in this season it’s often breezy and you would like to stroll around.
