One of the important parts of ethnic groups, including Turkmen people who are associated with the preservation of national identity had special role in the overall fate of Iran revolution. In fact, the interests and the national interest meant that the nationalist movements such as the Turkmen Constitution, the national oil movement and the Islamic Revolution and Sacred Defense play their roles against the arrogant hostility to Iran.
National movement:
Turkmenistan, like other ethnic groups have been effective in the national movement. One of these important movements was the Constitutional Movement. There are different views about the role of Turkmens in this movement. They were two groups in the Constitutional Revolution:Anti-constitutional Turkmen were mainly chiefs: This is for various reasons, including contact to king, courtiers and nobility who had failed or sunk in a panic of fear Constitutional Movement so they contacted with Turkmen officials and bribe, seasonal and temporary stimulation of Russians especially the Russian consul in Astarābād, fear of the Constitutional Assembly resolutions, including the removal of the landowners which led to all feudal, Khan and large landowners of Turkmen tribes be against the constitution and the protection of Mohammad Ali Shah's (Bashir 1363, 729).
Turkmen pro-Constitutional Movement: These are middle-class people and especially those who were Turkmen in Astarābād who more connected to urban life, and they were especially business persons who had a constitutional challenge in Astarābād. For example, a British correspondent reports on the Turkmen in Astarābād states that: "In Thee Al-Hijja 1326 AH (December 1909) Rahim Khan Maghsoudlou (one of the leaders Astarābād Constitutionalists and the Khan of Sorkhankalate village) sent one hundred and fifty Turkmen of Atabay Ylqy to Tehran for helping the constitutional assembly. " And elsewhere he wrote: "Russian Commissioner came to Gomishan hill to take fifty horsemen Chkt" Russian troops" and a few people who were Tarakam of Jafarabad to the constitutional of Mohammad Ali Shah in chains to be served there, but some of them escaped. Some of them were taken to Gomishan hill and five Turkmen were brought to the city of Astarābād and imprison them in Qnsvlkhanh. "But the most graceful person in Turkmen constitutional was "Rajab akhund," who clearly challenge Mohammad Ali Shah and his supporters and opposed him in the hills Gomishan. He was also elected in parliament at the time of Reza Shah on behalf Tarakameh. Rajab akhund had meetings with "Tvyjan Haji", "safar akhund" and "Abdallah" (father Abdullah Zadeh) in favor of the Constitutionalists. Abdullah, who was the famous as Abdullah majles, was considered an interface between Tarakameh and constitutional challenge in Astarābād (Afshar and Dryagsht, 1363, 282- 284).
Similarly, the Turkmen role can be seen far more than Islamic revolution.
With the victory of the Islamic Revolution, especially during the sacred defense of identity golden papers were manifested in Iran. Islamic Revolution and then eight years of sacred defense showed that with their political and cultural heritage people of all ethnic groups all over Iran, including Azeris, Kurds, Baluchis, Turkmen and Arabs have a pivotal role in defending their country.
Turkmenistan, like other ethnic groups are sensitive to the fate of their country and in different conditions than the revolution, they show their sense of responsibility. Turkmen had martyrs during the eight year war and the revolution, which is indicative of the feeling of national responsibility.

Among the martyrs of the Sacred Defense Turkmen, Turkmen and Sunni clerics are seen. The martyr and cleric Abu Ownegh is an example of the Sunni clerics who tried to maintain the revolution. Among the Turkmen who tried for the revolution and the protection of the territorial integrity of Iran, there were who fight in the front line of war, such as poets and others who own sacred hymns and songs helped them and played their role in protecting the revolution and the country. In this regard, A. Kalteh in one of these poets has said:
Batyr Ncha Yygyt Lear, Savashdan do Atmeh D *** Aldi Abaydaghyn, Beer Parakhat Yatmady
Bear Tvpraghynda Qarysh, John left the Satmady *** Qvjaq HD Avqlara, Ayzyn Qayghy January Atmeh
Zalmlar, Aldi front va e aval ebrat deh
Translation: many young people fearlessly took the banner of Islam and fought against enemies. Many young people did not give for the honor even one inch of land home and they with a bullet to the chest fought the enemies and they were oppressors on the front bumper. It is a lesson for the others.
Arazmhmd Erie, the other Turkmen poet is deeply committed to expression and intellectual courage and sacrifices of veterans and families of martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the nation in passionate lyrics:
Yvlyndh mazhab hile Uzyn Tanydan *** dust Bryp shoulders authorities Avlydn
Aslamyng Yvlyndh Janyndan Otten *** Adip, Burke Chalyshan Shhydlr
Translation: martyrs are familiar with God's path and ally the friends and overwhelm the opponents. Martyrs fought for Islam, they were empower themselves by proud and arrogant.
The late Sir Goldie Hvnbr knows the sacrifices for the country, a way of hope and honor for ancestors and says:
Aylym- Gvnvm Yvdvmyzyng Avghrvnda Avaysamda zare dar I Yvq ten
Yvrda va Padarlyq zarb ol masal Dobby nakhon Yvghrvlandyr qanun dore ye dah
Translation: I have no other wish if I be martyr on the way of defending home land and my community. Loyalty to the country is the tradition of my ancestors and it is rooted in my body and blood.
Star Soqy who is a contemporary poets and his famous poem "oppressive America," which is known for the people, referring to the common and long- standing enemy of the Iranian people and by considering the sense of nationality and humanity with anti-oppression statement makes reader extremely upsetting and says that:
Pir Yvzvndn Zlmyngy Gon ju kasr az Devnya Snyng
Aychn general qanon hast Laryng Gon ju Essar Snyng
Lor Il Gon ju qaribe Byrlh shib Tkhtyng Yyqar Snyng
Lngdn panje dur Zalym US qanon Damyb Snyng
Pir Yvzvndn Zlmyngy ju kasr az Devnya Snyng
Translation: one day, people will remove your tyranny from the earth, your weapons of killing people and generals will be hung. On that day the poor nations by the alliance will overcome you. Oh America, bleeding paws oppressor, One day the people of the world will take you on earth and would dismantle injustice.
In this poem the wave of patriotism and anti- tyranny could be seen. Turkmen poet remembers victims of war and the persecution has gone on Khorramshahr, Khuzestan, and Kurdistan Abadan in the form of a pleasant music, poetry and epic words in order to contact reader. In the final paragraph of the poem, the US is represented as the world's insecurity and segregation. Poet hopes that one day the people of the world attempt to destroy the roots of the American oppression.
In his poem "Shahid Brnlr Avchvn" by honoring the martyrs' families and solidarity with them, appreciates the patience and perseverance of the Iranian nation and expresses his owe to them and the sacred defense war and feeling restless in returning home is evoked national poet and says:
Yytn Joseph Luri Canaan Dvlanyp Glyar Bvgvn *** Gharlavach Lar Shyana dam be dam Qvnyar Bvgvn
Translation: lost Joseph is returned today to Canaan. Swallows have sat on their nests waiting for him.
Other aspects of the manifestation of national identity are in contemporary poetry the sacrifice image in Turkmen nation during the history of standing against the forces of enemy. The poet (his psyche be happy), "Anne M. simply known as "Sanjaar or Sanjar, remembers the country's defense against the attack of Alexander and Timorand against whom people stand.

Translation: a home! Your sky burnt in the dark- grade fuel and the fire of war and sorrow, your people withered through your garden and got ill. In sorrow thou cast down the Damavnd Mountain. A home! There were many bad wounds in the chest and hurt in the hearts. Honorius children were in bondage to a foreign tribe. Far from their tribes and there were those who were calling home when they died. If it is necessary, there are so many Honorius ones. A home! In this world, you are the only reliance and support for me. Although the wily invaders are in our great country (with their prevalent dominance), those who are in the country stepped to the fights. A home! You are my close friend and a good supportive for me. Eskandari with his reputation and his ass passed the mountains, and brought to ashes Madaen and hang the youth. Any such error, the wind blew against him. Whoever did this unwisely, the opponents raised against him. If I look at the history of past and current, my heart beats. Timor who destroyed your cities was a tremendous evil. He respected neither the world nor the children of yours. Soltani like Hafiz was under significant questions by him. A home! He brought his sward down on you by ignorance. You are a aggressive and greedy one today is much weak and ignoble. A home! I believe in the unity of the universe but he has drunk of his power. The culture of martyrdom is the cultural of not being a failure. A home! It is my prayer that you will be successful in trading and developing.
Speaker and poet, Ebrahim Badakhshan, expresses his will in poetry which was written in the battle. He defines combat in the first period of youth and at an early age. He sacrificed his youth for his homeland, while his friends were far and away from home; he mentioned them with much sadness and grief. The first lines of his poetry begins with sadness beautifully:
Hassa Qvlvm Bvlvb Dyyh Yvzvb zaman az Atmeh Assistant maneshi Ylyghanch Dryada
na Gydyan na Avng•h deh Gharq Boolean Dyyh tahamol nakhahad kard ba babr Aymnch Dryada
Translation: my hands are not mine because of exhaustion. I swim in the horrible sea and go forward. I could neither swim in this sea nor could I come out.
the popularity of this poet, M. Tabari (known as Turkaman Oghli) is for indebting to cultural and ethnical jokes, but he like other poets, mentioned martyrs, veterans and prisoners of war like the other poets as humiliated and subjugate the enemy as:
Shahid Lrmyz Kvpldy / Kyzyl Qanlar Dvkvlyb / EA pumped Neyjeh C / captive bold Tvtvlyb
Vatana Savghat Dyyb / Gvlryny Brdylr / Vatanyng Avyadyghny / Gvdylr York Bile (Rahimi Daschle brun, 1384).
Translation: red blood was shed and our martyrs were increased. Many of our men were arrested and poisoned. Some gave their eyes because of their country and some sensed the awakening of the home with the heart (Shadmehr, 1377, 26- 29).
