Jerry Falwell

This priest is the most active and the most renowned figure of Christian Zionism in the United States who emerged in the late fifties of the last century. But he did not enter the political arena till the late sixties and the broadcast of religious program "an Hour with the Gospel" through the television.
Falwell is the first American extremist politician who believes that United States’ support for Israel is not because of Israel's interests, but it is to the security interests of the United States.
He relies on several elements in his unsparing supports to the Zionist regime:
- Of biblical, historical and human factors.
- Jews have the right to live.
- Israel is surrounded by a hundred million Arabs who murder the Jews.
- Israel is the only true friend of United States of America in the Middle East.
Falwell fully relies on a point in his positions toward Israel that usually none of his books, programs, interviews and speeches is not empty of it, and that is:
"Standing in front of Israel is tantamount to declaring war on God."
he who is the Menachem Begin and Yitzhak Shamir’s close friend and is the most obvious manifestation of the deep link between fundamentalist Christianity with Zionism, says in a book titled “Jerry Farwell and Jewish”:
Now, Israel is the most remarkable evidence of Bible’s prophecy, and I believe that the Jewish domination in 1967 C. on the Holy Land, the rule of idolaters (ie Muslims) will be passed soon. I am confident that the miracle of the creation of Israel in 1948 C. is nothing but the grace of God, in the broad sense of the word. God repeatedly promised In the Old Testament that he will bring the Jewish people together soon in the land where Abraham promised, the land of today Israel, and God was faithful to his oath….

He also said:

It is impossible for America to return on Israel and can remain on the screen of the world. Grace of God to the nations is as much grace as they have to Jews.
Falwell in his other book called “America, Listen!” states:
America has no other way, if he wants his territory to remain white and wheat grow in them, if he wants fruitful scientific efforts and as previously be considered well, if he wants his freedom to be preserved and intact, America must remain with Israel and continue supporting it.
This priest in established a college in 1971 C. named " Baptist School of Linsh berg", then renamed it to "Memadani’s Freedom School" and eventually he named it "University of Freedom".
This University had 6500 students in year 1986 C. and since that time, Falwell sought to bring fifty thousand students to his college at the end of the twentieth century.
At this university they examine the Lahooti students from the perspective of Jewish culture and learning, which is mixed with contemporary political and strategic promotions and trends. In the Christian atmosphere of the University, students utilize extensive training in many fields, and specialize in them and receive academic degrees in the following fields: accounting, business, biology, chemistry, military science, education, theater, economy, journalism, social communication science, math, sociology, psychology, political science, music, medicine engineering, law and nursing.
Study of Bible Courses of the "Liberty University" shows that these courses include: Jewish history, Old and New Testament, the Hebrew language and literature, Israel and its current situation.
Several Jewish professors, like Harvey Hartman who is educated in Israel join their faculty of The University.
Jerry Falwell says about the university: "hordes of the leaders of the next generation are trained in it."
In addition to this university, he also has established a large number of primary and secondary schools that some estimates their number up to tens of thousands, but Falwell has known the number of them as eighteen thousand in 1980 C.
Education at these schools is mainly based on the beliefs of the Christian Zionist fundamentalists.
But that Baptist Church, which Falwell has founded it, is an institution that has broad general goals and works in varied fields. His preaching and guidance are from the scattered branches across the United States, to fighting against abortion and the call to prayer in schools, the revival of traditional families, moral issues, inner and foreign policy issues, and particularly the need for unlimited support of Israel.
Other activities of the Baptist Church are establishment of supporting youth and children communities and centers and formation of summer camps for them, supporting addicts and helping women who were pregnant in an illegitimate way. More than two thousand employees work in this area.
Publications of Baptist Church are very active in promoting Zionist ideas and beliefs. Friendship with Jews, in the eyes of this church is based on the principle that "God loves Jews and he pays as much attention as every nation pays to Jews and interact with the Israelis; our Liberating, was Jesus who was also Jewish.”
Priest Falwell broadcasts his television programs with the name" an hour with the Gospel "through 392 TV transmitter and five hundred radio transmitter every day around the United States. Its outcome was estimated about sixty million dollars and the number of its viewers were more than five million and six hundred thousand (5/600/000) people per month in 1978 C. but, Jerry Falwell tries to have Seventeen to 25 million people engaged in programs.
But his other program called "Jerry Falwell directly on the waves", which is broadcasted every week on Sunday night, has 34 million families as viewers.
Falwell always insists that "the reestablishment of the Jewish state through the Christian fundamentalist is fulfillment of Biblical prophecy. Thus, every American needs to apply his full support for Israel. "
He counts not only the West Bank of Jordan River and the Gaza Strip and the Golan Heights as the Israeli border, but also recognizes the scope of these borders to the Nile and the Euphrates Rivers and stresses that the Promised Land includes Iraq, Syria, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, and all the lands of Lebanon, Jordan and Kuwait.
In 1979 C. with the establishment of political and non-religious organization of "moral majority", he pursued his programs and activities through it.
This organization in its planning and communications takes advantage of the most advanced electronic systems. Providing and keeping the names and addresses of subscribers and many other things are done in mechanized approaches. For example, this organization has three hundred independent lists with the names and addresses of 25 million Americans that sends up to a hundred million letters to them per year.
The mentioned Organization publishes numerous books and publications that most important one is a monthly report entitled "Report of the moral majority." this magazine is sent each month for 1/5 million American subscribers as well as members of Congress and governors of 82 thousands of religious dignitaries and media rulers and heads of news networks.
The cost of making each issue of this report is about one million and two hundred thousand dollars.
The organization is headquartered in Washington, and besides fundamentalist Christians, Jews are also members of it. Jerry Falwell knows the number of members over 6/5 million people.
The most important objective and plan of the moral majority Organization is supporting the Zionist regime. One of the activities that have been done in this area since 1980 C. is providing pilgrimage tours for Christians tourist and especially religious leaders to meet the occupied territories of Palestine. Only in 1980 C. around 250 thousand Christian fundamentalist were able to visit Israel through this organization. Jerry Falwell personally accompanied travelers and especially religious leaders in many of these trips; he believes that every Christian should have a goal of visiting Israel in his own life.
Falwell tremendous thirst for religious and political activities made him establish a political organization called the "Association of Freedom" in 1986 C. so that as a systematic structure, he can achieve the desired objectives and put political pressure on decision-making centers. He has been able to largely affect public opinion in America by his broad and integrated dependent organizations and his attractive and popular programs. According to The New York Times, Jerry Falwell and Pat Robertson’s television programs are more attractive than sexy films and magazines in America. Even his viewers are more than the readers of Time Magazine and Newsweek and newspapers of The Washington Post and The New York Times and Los Angeles Times.
In June 1981 C., after the bombing and destroying Iraq's nuclear reactors by fighter bombers of Israel, Menachem Begin, Israel's prime minister, during a telephone conversation with Jerry Falwell, asked him to direct and guide the public opinion in America in the interest of Israel in this case. Following this conversation, eighty thousand preacher priests affiliated to Falwell organizations recieved the necessary instructions from their boss and began a massive advertizings. In those days, Falwell in his televised church programs, besides emphasizing the fact that "standing in front of Israel is like being enemy of God", said the Israeli operation is only because of defending its existence and protecting the innocent Jewish children.
Falwell’s orientation and bias toward the Zionist movement and extraordinary efforts and great services that he had showed in the interest of Israel, made Menachem Begin to dedicate him the highest award ever which was granted to any non-Jewish government in 1980 C., during a big celebration of the Zionists in New York which was held in his honor. The award is called “Vladimir Ze’ev Jabotinsky”.
Israel awarded a personal jet of "Wind Strym" to Falwell with value of 2/5 to 3/5 a million dollars.
Falwell is pleased that every week in order to support their desired candidates travels with the aircraft about ten thousand miles.
It also goes without saying that the scope of a passionate adventurer like Falwell by having all facilities and close links with Israel and communications with the master of policy and the ideas of extremist fundamentalism, cannot be limited down to what has been referred to.
He claims that the figure of heads of the apartheid regime in South Africa has been altered by the liberal media, and the ANC is Communist and made by the Soviet regime, so he began to support the regime.
Also in the eighth October 2002 C., during the sixty-minute program on the television network of CBS, he did negative publicity against the Prophet (peace be upon him) of Islam, and the messenger of mercy was called a terrorist!
It is worth remembering that Falwell is not only an exceptional and unique phenomenon in Israeli priests society of the United States who works with this passionate and with these massive and wide radial efforts in favor of Zionism; It must be said that in the collection of the Protestant fundamentalist Church of America, a number of other religious figures based on macro-economic investments and using radio and TV transmitters and newspapers, magazines, books and by application of private universities and higher education centers and other cultural facilities, accomplish activities to promote the idea of Zionism Christian for example, following fundamentalist pastors can be named:
M. Dihan, Ruben Tora, Simpson, Hall Lindsay, Patrick Robertson, Charles Diyer, Mike Evans, John Valford, Dif Hunt, George Otis, Jimmy Sovagert, Billy Graham.
