The emergence of the financial aristocracy At the time of the July 1830 Revolution, the French people mistakenly considered this traumatic incident as a damage to the Rothschild and because of their ties with the Bourbon their role in the court of Louis XVIII and Charles X, they were extremely unpopular. Stock value of Rothschild companies fell to the extent that people in Paris spoke of their bankruptcy. However, according to Eugene Kurt the point that was hidden for both the court of Paris and the court of Vienna, Bourbon's main sponsor, was that during the reign of the Bourbon, James Rothschild had secretly relationship with Louis-Philippe. He was his financial adviser and he went to his home most of the time.
Eugen Kurt is the first researcher who introduced a phenomenon called "the intelligence network of Rothschild" in the early twentieth century and on the basis of confidential documents left by the Prussian government in a documented form. Some of these documents are some of the correspondence of James Rothschild in (Paris) and Salomon de Rothschild (in Vienna) that was in the secret archives of the Prussian government in 1928 (3) in Berlin and were used by Kurt. These documents make it clear that in the first half of the nineteenth century, a vast network led by the Rothschild in Europe and all around the world.
In the first months after the revolution of July 1830, the city of Paris was changed to the heart of dynamism of subversive and revolutionary series in Europe. The documents used by Kurt indicate that the Rothschild used their intelligence network and they were fully informed of the activities and projects of these organizations and Louis Philippe and Metternich were sometime informed about these information.
Kurt says: "Despite the complete change of the situation, the Rothschild received the most important and most secret information because of their excellent relations.
These documents reveal that the new king that has achieved the power of France had relied on the help of Jewish intelligence. At this time, Louis Philippe, has not still established his intelligence apparatus and thus he needed the necessary information that James Rothschild gave him. This was due to his close relationship with Rothschild. For example, in September 7, 1830 he met James de Rothschild privately and confidentially. James Rothschild, in a letter to Solomon in Vienna, has described the story of this visit. He writes:
King assured me that his protests all anti-revolutionary activities in all countries ... but he has to keep up with the slogans of freedom to some extent...
James talks about the Italian secret plans that are based in Paris for rebellion in Naples and at the end he wants Solomon to inform "Prince von Metternich Rev" of these issues. He does not confine only to send the information. Rather, he analyzes them and above all he offers a practical line of approach. In his view, "it is advised" that as soon as possible to send representatives to Naples and privileges should be given to people to prevent rebellion success in this country.
Solomon sent this letter with a note to Metternich. In his note to Metternich this has been stated:
‘’my dear friend! These are the main issues raised in my talks with the king. Except certain high-ranking individuals, these contents should remain seriously confidential. With my most friendly feelings expressed.
Those who know the authority of Metternich in this period, as the Europe's number one man, know that this close relationship is known as a very important and valuable issue.
In the book named ‘’ the Kurt’’ there are some other correspondences of these two brothers (James and Solomon Rothschild) in this period. In the above mentioned letters, some passwords were used, for example Metternich was written as "Uncle". The Kurt concludes from the documents that Metternich was bypassing his embassy in Paris, had chosen Rothschild as his secret communication channel with the New King and French government was elected.
In the recent sources, the information links of Louis Philippe and Rothschild have been mentioned. Virginia Kavls writes:
James Rothschild organized his counterespionage unit. He ordered all his members in France to achieve the news related to revolutionary immigrations who are conspiring in foreign countries.
Kavls thought that the intelligence services of James Rothschild have absorbed the attention of Louis Philippe. After he consolidate his power, he found that Rothschild is more beneficial to him than the liberal Jacques Laffite. At this time, for the full-time employment of Laffite to the political activities, his stock value crashed. So, in London Nathan Rothschild to make fun of Laffite and considers him as a man who "thinks could save the French economy but cannot keep his property." Kavls adds: "the radical proposals of Laffite could frighten Louis Philippe." While the designs of the James Rothschild was good for him.
Finally, Louis Philippe, on the recommendation of James Rothschild, accepted to appoint Pereira Casimir instead of Laffite on the finance minister position. Virginia Kavls calls Pereira as his "great friend of the Rothschild Foundation". Jacques Laffite resigned sadly and said his famous sentence: "I ask God and the world forgive me because of my role in the revolution of July, and the arrival of Louis-Philippe]." He then joined the ranks of the opponents of Louis Philippe. Shortly after the 1830 revolution, the communicable diseases swept Europe and about 32 thousand people died of this disease. One of the victims was Casimir, the close friend of James Rothschild and the French Finance Minister.
July 1830 French Revolution was followed by a wave of revolutions in Europe. Philippe awarded Grand Cross of the Legion of Honor to Rothschild.
Louis-Philippe, who was called demagogically as the "Citizen of King", established a government that was famous as the "bourgeois monarchy", according to Doctor Thomson this interpretation was correct. During the dominant of Louis Philippe, money was the dominant spirit of the times and gold reign everywhere. Victor Hugo in his masterpiece, the poor, has depicted the France in Louis Philippe's era. Balzac in The Human Comedy is showing the picture of French society in this era of unchallenged rule of "money". At this time, although London was considered as the the financial heart of the West, but Louis-Philippe, in the interpretation of Kavls, transformed Paris to "Heaven of bankers".
Bothe the 'revolutionary' Marx and the "liberal” de Tocqueville, as the leading intellectuals of their time, have described the July Monarchy in their works and called them as a "stock corporation" that worked in order to profit to its shareholders. It is said that there had been no territory and no history full of financial, moral and economical corruption like this era. Baron James Rothschild was placed in the heart of this corporation whose fortune was estimated between 40 and 50 million pounds at that time. This wealth is other than the wealth of Rothschild’s brothers. Earlier we said that Nathan Rothschild’s fortune in London at the end of the Napoleonic Wars (1815) was estimated at least 50 million pounds. In addition, James Rothschild had the responsibility to operate and increase personal wealth of Louis Philippe as Nathan in London, increased the capital of members of Britain's royal family and the king. Virginia Kavls writes: "There is no doubt that Louis Philippe relied on Baron James Rothschild." Louis Philippe was pleased that Rothschild has increased his personal fortune and he increases it permanently. Louis-Philippe and James Rothschild was linked to such an extent that even Metternich, who had the most egregious relations with Solomon Rothschild, did not like it "morally".
