The sweet dish is favorite to people in Hamedan, especially during the holy month of Ramadan. It is served as a starter for breaking fast.
Ingredients
Carrots, 500 g
Sugar, 1 cup
Saffron, brewed, 1/2 cup
Rosewater, 1 cup
Oil, 1/2 cup
Flour rice, 1 cup
Ground cardamom, 3 nos
Cinnamon powder, 1 tsp
Coconut powder, 2 tablespoons
Carrots Tar Halwa
Directions
First, grate the carrots and cook in a pot. Pass the cooked carrots through a piece of clean cloth to drain its water. Then, set a frying pan on the stove and sauté the rice flour in oil till golden. After that, add in brewed saffron, water, oil and sugar. Stir well to make a thick mixture.
Finally, add rosewater and ground cardamon. Once it is cool, transfer to a serving dish and garnish with cinnamon powder and coconut powder on top. Carrots Tar Halwa is one of the sweet desserts or starters in the city of Hamedan which is very popular in Ramadan Month. Bon Appetit!
