The authentic dish is tried in Gilan Province. You can give it a try if you like.
Ingredients
1/2 of 1 Butternut squash
Garlic cloves, 3 nos
Walnuts, 150 g
Pomegranate juice, 2 tablespoons
Tomato paste, 2 tablespoons
Sugar, 2 tablespoons
Salt, pepper, turmeric, Golpar, hot spices, for seasoning
Water, as required

Procedure
First Grate the garlic and sauté a bit in oil in a pan. Then cook the butternut squash in water, peel and mash well. Transfer to the pan and sauté too. Keep aside.
Add in ground walnuts, pomegranate paste, and tomato paste into a pot. Adjust the seasoning, salt, pepper, turmeric and sugar. Pour in enough water. Close the lid and cook on the low flame for 2 hours.
Don't forget to add in sautéed squash, and garlic as well as Golpar and spices. Once the mixture in the pot gets thickened, remove from the heat. Serve in your desired dish and serve with fresh Persian bread. Bon Appetit!
