Quran states about struggle
قَدْ سَمِعَ اللَّهُ قَوْلَ الَّتِی تُجَادِلُكَ فِی زَوْجِهَا وَتَشْتَكِی إِلَى اللَّهِ وَاللَّهُ یَسْمَعُ تَحَاوُرَكُمَا ۚ إِنَّ اللَّهَ سَمِیعٌ بَصِیرٌ
Allah has indeed heard (and accepted) the statement of the woman who pleads with thee concerning her husband and carries her complaint (in prayer) to Allah: and Allah (always) hears the arguments between both sides among you: for Allah hears and sees (all things).
According to the above verse, struggle means conversation between two persons about a topic in order to come an agreement. Sometimes, it is combined with ager; therefore, it leads to argumentation and sometimes, it is combined with softness and easiness; therefore, it leads to agreement.
Sharif Jorjani says about '' struggle'' it is a purpose that leads to expression of purposes''. In other words, struggle is a kind of retribution through remarks and use of reasons.
Ragheb Esfahani believes that struggle is to negotiate through argumentation and dominate on another person. Quran states
الَّذِینَ یُجَادِلُونَ فِی آیَاتِ اللَّهِ بِغَیْرِ سُلْطَانٍ أَتَاهُمْ ۖ كَبُرَ مَقْتًا عِندَ اللَّهِ وَعِندَ الَّذِینَ آمَنُوا ۚ كَذَٰلِكَ یَطْبَعُ اللَّهُ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ قَلْبِ مُتَكَبِّرٍ جَبَّارٍ
Such) as dispute about the Signs of Allah, without any authority that hath reached them, grievous and odious (is such conduct) in the sight of Allah and of the Believers. Thus doth Allah, seal up every heart - of arrogant and obstinate Transgressors''.
وَإِن جَادَلُوكَ فَقُلِ اللَّهُ أَعْلَمُ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ
If they do wrangle with thee, say, "Allah knows best what it is ye are doing''.
قَالُوا یَا نُوحُ قَدْ جَادَلْتَنَا فَأَكْثَرْتَ جِدَالَنَا فَأْتِنَا بِمَا تَعِدُنَا إِن كُنتَ مِنَ الصَّادِقِینَ
They said: "O Noah! thou hast disputed with us, and (much) hast thou prolonged the dispute with us: now bring upon us what thou threatenest us with, if thou speakest the truth''. !
وَقَالُوا أَآلِهَتُنَا خَیْرٌ أَمْ هُوَ ۚ مَا ضَرَبُوهُ لَكَ إِلَّا جَدَلًا ۚ بَلْ هُمْ قَوْمٌ خَصِمُونَ
And they say, "Are our gods best, or he?" This they set forth to thee, only by way of disputation: yea, they are a contentious people''.
وَلَقَدْ صَرَّفْنَا فِی هَٰذَا الْقُرْآنِ لِلنَّاسِ مِن كُلِّ مَثَلٍ ۚ وَكَانَ الْإِنسَانُ أَكْثَرَ شَیْءٍ جَدَلًا
We have explained in detail in this Qur´an, for the benefit of mankind, every kind of similitude: but man is, in most things, contentious.
فَلَمَّا ذَهَبَ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِیمَ الرَّوْعُ وَجَاءَتْهُ الْبُشْرَىٰ یُجَادِلُنَا فِی قَوْمِ لُوطٍ
When fear had passed from (the mind of) Abraham and the glad tidings had reached him, he began to plead with us for Lut´s people.
كَذَّبَتْ قَبْلَهُمْ قَوْمُ نُوحٍ وَالْأَحْزَابُ مِن بَعْدِهِمْ ۖ وَهَمَّتْ كُلُّ أُمَّةٍ بِرَسُولِهِمْ لِیَأْخُذُوهُ ۖ وَجَادَلُوا بِالْبَاطِلِ لِیُدْحِضُوا بِهِ الْحَقَّ فَأَخَذْتُهُمْ ۖ فَكَیْفَ كَانَ عِقَابِ
But (there were people) before them, who denied (the Signs),- the People of Noah, and the Confederates (of Evil) after them; and every People plotted against their prophet, to seize him, and disputed by means of vanities, therewith to condemn the Truth; but it was I that seized them! and how (terrible) was My Requital. !
وَمِنَ النَّاسِ مَن یُجَادِلُ فِی اللَّهِ بِغَیْرِ عِلْمٍ وَیَتَّبِعُ كُلَّ شَیْطَانٍ مَّرِیدٍ
And yet among men there are such as dispute about Allah, without knowledge, and follow every evil one obstinate in rebellion.
The word ''struggle'' has been expressed in an ugly way in Quran and in some verses, it is expressed as a soft conversation;
ادْعُ إِلَىٰ سَبِیلِ رَبِّكَ بِالْحِكْمَةِ وَالْمَوْعِظَةِ الْحَسَنَةِ ۖ وَجَادِلْهُم بِالَّتِی هِیَ أَحْسَنُ ۚ إِنَّ رَبَّكَ هُوَ أَعْلَمُ بِمَن ضَلَّ عَن سَبِیلِهِ ۖ وَهُوَ أَعْلَمُ بِالْمُهْتَدِینَ
Invite (all) to the Way of thy Lord with wisdom and beautiful preaching; and argue with them in ways that are best and most gracious: for thy Lord knoweth best, who have strayed from His Path, and who receive guidance.
وَلَا تُجَادِلُوا أَهْلَ الْكِتَابِ إِلَّا بِالَّتِی هِیَ أَحْسَنُ إِلَّا الَّذِینَ ظَلَمُوا مِنْهُمْ ۖ وَقُولُوا آمَنَّا بِالَّذِی أُنزِلَ إِلَیْنَا وَأُنزِلَ إِلَیْكُمْ وَإِلَٰهُنَا وَإِلَٰهُكُمْ وَاحِدٌ وَنَحْنُ لَهُ مُسْلِمُونَ
And dispute ye not with the People of the Book, except with means better (than mere disputation), unless it be with those of them who inflict wrong (and injury): but say, "We believe in the revelation which has come down to us and in that which came down to you; Our Allah and your Allah is one; and it is to Him we bow (in Islam).
When the word ''struggle'' is mentioned in Quran, it has common meaning with another situation;
وَمِنَ النَّاسِ مَن یُجَادِلُ فِی اللَّهِ بِغَیْرِ عِلْمٍ وَلَا هُدًى وَلَا كِتَابٍ مُّنِیرٍ
Yet there is among men such a one as disputes about Allah, without Knowledge, without Guidance, and without a Book of Enlightenment.
وَمِنَ النَّاسِ مَن یُجَادِلُ فِی اللَّهِ بِغَیْرِ عِلْمٍ وَیَتَّبِعُ كُلَّ شَیْطَانٍ مَّرِیدٍ
And yet among men there are such as dispute about Allah, without knowledge, and follow every evil one obstinate in rebellion.
الَّذِینَ یُجَادِلُونَ فِی آیَاتِ اللَّهِ بِغَیْرِ سُلْطَانٍ أَتَاهُمْ ۖ كَبُرَ مَقْتًا عِندَ اللَّهِ وَعِندَ الَّذِینَ آمَنُوا ۚ كَذَٰلِكَ یَطْبَعُ اللَّهُ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ قَلْبِ مُتَكَبِّرٍ جَبَّارٍ
(Such) as dispute about the Signs of Allah, without any authority that hath reached them, grievous and odious (is such conduct) in the sight of Allah and of the Believers. Thus doth Allah, seal up every heart - of arrogant and obstinate Transgressors''.
Struggle means conversation based on ignorance and it is remarks without reasons.
یُجَادِلُونَكَ فِی الْحَقِّ بَعْدَمَا تَبَیَّنَ كَأَنَّمَا یُسَاقُونَ إِلَى الْمَوْتِ وَهُمْ یَنظُرُونَ
Disputing with thee concerning the truth after it was made manifest, as if they were being driven to death and they (actually) saw it''.
مَا یُجَادِلُ فِی آیَاتِ اللَّهِ إِلَّا الَّذِینَ كَفَرُوا فَلَا یَغْرُرْكَ تَقَلُّبُهُمْ فِی الْبِلَادِ
None can dispute about the Signs of Allah but the Unbelievers. Let not, then, their strutting about through the land deceive thee. !
كَذَّبَتْ قَبْلَهُمْ قَوْمُ نُوحٍ وَالْأَحْزَابُ مِن بَعْدِهِمْ ۖ وَهَمَّتْ كُلُّ أُمَّةٍ بِرَسُولِهِمْ لِیَأْخُذُوهُ ۖ وَجَادَلُوا بِالْبَاطِلِ لِیُدْحِضُوا بِهِ الْحَقَّ فَأَخَذْتُهُمْ ۖ فَكَیْفَ كَانَ عِقَابِ

In the above verses, the word ''struggle'' means dealing with reality and tending to false path due to disobedience and blasphemy.
وَلَا تَأْكُلُوا مِمَّا لَمْ یُذْكَرِ اسْمُ اللَّهِ عَلَیْهِ وَإِنَّهُ لَفِسْقٌ ۗ وَإِنَّ الشَّیَاطِینَ لَیُوحُونَ إِلَىٰ أَوْلِیَائِهِمْ لِیُجَادِلُوكُمْ ۖ وَإِنْ أَطَعْتُمُوهُمْ إِنَّكُمْ لَمُشْرِكُونَ
Eat not of (meats) on which Allah´s name hath not been pronounced: That would be impiety. But the evil ones ever inspire their friends to contend with you if ye were to obey them, ye would indeed be Pagans.
وَمِنْهُم مَّن یَسْتَمِعُ إِلَیْكَ ۖ وَجَعَلْنَا عَلَىٰ قُلُوبِهِمْ أَكِنَّةً أَن یَفْقَهُوهُ وَفِی آذَانِهِمْ وَقْرًا ۚ وَإِن یَرَوْا كُلَّ آیَةٍ لَّا یُؤْمِنُوا بِهَا ۚ حَتَّىٰ إِذَا جَاءُوكَ یُجَادِلُونَكَ یَقُولُ الَّذِینَ كَفَرُوا إِنْ هَٰذَا إِلَّا أَسَاطِیرُ الْأَوَّلِینَ
Of them there are some who (pretend to) listen to thee; but We have thrown veils on their hearts, So they understand it not, and deafness in their ears; if they saw every one of the signs, not they will believe in them; in so much that when they come to thee, they (but) dispute with thee; the Unbelievers say: "These are nothing but tales of the ancients''.
وَیَعْلَمَ الَّذِینَ یُجَادِلُونَ فِی آیَاتِنَا مَا لَهُم مِّن مَّحِیصٍ
But let those know, who dispute about Our Signs, that there is for them no way of escape.
Termezi narrates that the prophet (peace of Allah be upon him and his descendants) states '' a tribe deviated after being guided through struggle''. In other words, struggle was reason of their deviation. Purpose from struggle is animosity among persons.
Loqman said to his son '' O' my son! Do not struggle with scientists because they will be enemy with you''. Imam Sadeq (peace be upon him) states '' I prevent you from struggle because it leads to animosity''.
Quran states
وَلَقَدْ صَرَّفْنَا فِی هَٰذَا الْقُرْآنِ لِلنَّاسِ مِن كُلِّ مَثَلٍ ۚ وَكَانَ الْإِنسَانُ أَكْثَرَ شَیْءٍ جَدَلًا
We have explained in detail in this Qur´an, for the benefit of mankind, every kind''.
وَوُضِعَ الْكِتَابُ فَتَرَى الْمُجْرِمِینَ مُشْفِقِینَ مِمَّا فِیهِ وَیَقُولُونَ یَا وَیْلَتَنَا مَالِ هَٰذَا الْكِتَابِ لَا یُغَادِرُ صَغِیرَةً وَلَا كَبِیرَةً إِلَّا أَحْصَاهَا ۚ وَوَجَدُوا مَا عَمِلُوا حَاضِرًا ۗ وَلَا یَظْلِمُ رَبُّكَ أَحَدًا
And the Book (of Deeds) will be placed (before you); and thou wilt see the sinful in great terror because of what is (recorded) therein; they will say, "Ah! woe to us! what a Book is this! It leaves out nothing small or great, but takes account thereof!" They will find all that they did, placed before them: And not one will thy Lord treat with injustice.
وَإِذْ قُلْنَا لِلْمَلَائِكَةِ اسْجُدُوا لِآدَمَ فَسَجَدُوا إِلَّا إِبْلِیسَ كَانَ مِنَ الْجِنِّ فَفَسَقَ عَنْ أَمْرِ رَبِّهِ ۗ أَفَتَتَّخِذُونَهُ وَذُرِّیَّتَهُ أَوْلِیَاءَ مِن دُونِی وَهُمْ لَكُمْ عَدُوٌّ ۚ بِئْسَ لِلظَّالِمِینَ بَدَلًا
Behold! We said to the angels, "Bow down to Adam": They bowed down except Iblis. He was one of the Jinns, and he broke the Command of his Lord. Will ye then take him and his progeny as protectors rather than Me? And they are enemies to you! Evil would be the exchange for the wrong-doers.
! وَأَمَّا الْجِدَارُ فَكَانَ لِغُلَامَیْنِ یَتِیمَیْنِ فِی الْمَدِینَةِ وَكَانَ تَحْتَهُ كَنزٌ لَّهُمَا وَكَانَ أَبُوهُمَا صَالِحًا فَأَرَادَ رَبُّكَ أَن یَبْلُغَا أَشُدَّهُمَا وَیَسْتَخْرِجَا كَنزَهُمَا رَحْمَةً مِّن رَّبِّكَ ۚ وَمَا فَعَلْتُهُ عَنْ أَمْرِی ۚ ذَٰلِكَ تَأْوِیلُ مَا لَمْ تَسْطِع عَّلَیْهِ صَبْرًا
As for the wall, it belonged to two youths, orphans, in the Town; there was, beneath it, a buried treasure, to which they were entitled: their father had been a righteous man: So thy Lord desired that they should attain their age of full strength and get out their treasure - a mercy (and favour) from thy Lord. I did it not of my own accord. Such is the interpretation of (those things) over which thou wast unable to hold patience''.
رَى الظَّالِمِینَ مُشْفِقِینَ مِمَّا كَسَبُوا وَهُوَ وَاقِعٌ بِهِمْ ۗ وَالَّذِینَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ فِی رَوْضَاتِ الْجَنَّاتِ ۖ لَهُم مَّا یَشَاءُونَ عِندَ رَبِّهِمْ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ هُوَ الْفَضْلُ الْكَبِیرُ
Thou wilt see the Wrong-doers in fear on account of what they have earned, and (the burden of) that must (necessarily) fall on them. But those who believe and work righteous deeds will be in the luxuriant meads of the Gardens: they shall have, before their Lord, all that they wish for. That will indeed be the magnificent Bounty (of Allah).
لْ أَیُّ شَیْءٍ أَكْبَرُ شَهَادَةً ۖ قُلِ اللَّهُ ۖ شَهِیدٌ بَیْنِی وَبَیْنَكُمْ ۚ وَأُوحِیَ إِلَیَّ هَٰذَا الْقُرْآنُ لِأُنذِرَكُم بِهِ وَمَن بَلَغَ ۚ أَئِنَّكُمْ لَتَشْهَدُونَ أَنَّ مَعَ اللَّهِ آلِهَةً أُخْرَىٰ ۚ قُل لَّا أَشْهَدُ ۚ قُلْ إِنَّمَا هُوَ إِلَٰهٌ وَاحِدٌ وَإِنَّنِی بَرِیءٌ مِّمَّا تُشْرِكُونَ
Say: "What thing is most weighty in evidence?" Say: "Allah is witness between me and you; This Qur´an hath been revealed to me by inspiration, that I may warn you and all whom it reaches. Can ye possibly bear witness that besides Allah there is another Allah?" Say: "Nay! I cannot bear witness!" Say: "But in truth He is the one Allah, and I truly am innocent of (your blasphemy of) joining others with Him.
وَعِندَهُ مَفَاتِحُ الْغَیْبِ لَا یَعْلَمُهَا إِلَّا هُوَ ۚ وَیَعْلَمُ مَا فِی الْبَرِّ وَالْبَحْرِ ۚ وَمَا تَسْقُطُ مِن وَرَقَةٍ إِلَّا یَعْلَمُهَا وَلَا حَبَّةٍ فِی ظُلُمَاتِ الْأَرْضِ وَلَا رَطْبٍ وَلَا یَابِسٍ إِلَّا فِی كِتَابٍ مُّبِینٍ
With Him are the keys of the unseen, the treasures that none knoweth but He. He knoweth whatever there is on the earth and in the sea. Not a leaf doth fall but with His knowledge: there is not a grain in the darkness (or depths) of the earth, nor anything fresh or dry (green or withered), but is (inscribed) in a record clear (to those who can read).
وَهُوَ الْقَاهِرُ فَوْقَ عِبَادِهِ ۖ وَیُرْسِلُ عَلَیْكُمْ حَفَظَةً حَتَّىٰ إِذَا جَاءَ أَحَدَكُمُ الْمَوْتُ تَوَفَّتْهُ رُسُلُنَا وَهُمْ لَا یُفَرِّطُونَ
He is the irresistible, (watching) from above over His worshippers, and He sets guardians over you. At length, when death approaches one of you, Our angels take his soul, and they never fail in their duty.
