There are 2 types of jam and marmalade that pieces of fruits exist in them. Of course, Marmalade has 2 clear and non-transparent types.
Marmalade is an English term and the English speaking countries love both marmalade and jam. The best jam is produced in countries of Switzerland, Germany, and England where people would like to consume it with some special foods.
Here are 7 key points to make jam:
1. You can use any type of pot for making jam. Just make sure to bring to boil water before the procedure and then empty the water. Place the pot over the stove till the remaining water is evaporated entirely. Then remove and allow to cool. You can start the procedure then. This way, your pot is void of any sort of pollution and the probability of the decay decreases dramatically. Remember to apply metal lids for the pot and don't ever think of glass lids. This will improve the quality of made jam.
2. Apply wooden or stainless steel spoons to stir or spill the jam into another dish. Make sure to use clean and dry spoons or the jam will get musty.
3. Put the jam in a glass dish( put in boiling water in advance). Of course, it is a good idea to set the dish on the oven tray 10 minutes at 180 degrees Celsius after putting into boiling water. This will reduce the growth of microbes and potential molds.
4. To have a sweeter jam, you can substitute white sugar with brown sugar. Also, applying dates syrup, berry syrup or sweet fruits such as strawberries, and mangoes will make sweet orange jam. Don't forget that consuming plenty of sugar will generate tiny cubes of sugar. So pay much attention!
5. When jam is ready, pour into your desired dish and make sure to fill it completely. Put the cap and place the dish upside down till the air gets out and the cap is firmly closed. When cool, put it inside the fridge.
6. To have a high-quality jam, it is recommended to mix sugar with fruits pieces for a couple of hours ( almost 10 hours). You can do this for many jam recipes.
7. Do not apply lime water to have brittle pieces of fruits in your jam as they are harmful to people especially the kids and pregnant women.
If you are obese, you are recommended to consume the jam little as it is full of sugar and therefore calorific. If desired, you can consume 2 to 3 teaspoons of the jam on 2 or 3 pieces of crispy unhulled bread to limit the amount of gained energy.
If you are a diabetic, it is recommended to limit consumption of jam. If desired, do it under the supervision of a specialist. Apply oat bread and try to replace white sugar with brown sugar.
If you are thin, consume the jam with 2 to 3 desertspoons of cream or butter. Apply wholemeal wheat bread or bread made out of a combination of grains.
As a drink, apply 1 glass of chocolate milk to gain more calories to put on weight.
